Movie is based on novel “Mamorarenakatta Monotachi e” by Shichiri Nakayama and directed by Takahisa Zeze. Ryoko Shinohara is cast in Netflix live-action drama series “Goldfish Wife.” The drama series is based on manga series “Kingyo Tsuma” by Kurosawa R. For “Goldfish Wife,” Ryoko Shinohara will play housewife Sakura Hiraga. She is envied by others, but she lives in an abusive situation.
“Goldfish Wife” will be available to stream on Netflix sometime next year.

Masaki Suda and Fukase (Sekai no Owari) are cast in movie “Character.” The film is scripted by Takashi Nagasaki and directed by Akira Nagai. Fukase from pop band “Sekai no Owari” will make his acting debut in the movie. Masaki Suda will play main character Keigo Yamashiro. He is a manga writer, but he’s stuck in the role of an assistant due to his inability to create evil characters. He then comes across a murder scene.

Teaser trailer and poster added for NTV drama series “Love You as the World Ends” starring Ryoma Takeuchi and Ayami Nakajo. The drama series features an original screenplay by Natsuko Ikeda. Ryoma Takeuchi plays Hibiki Mamiya. He gets caught in a tunnel that collapses and is able to escape 4 days later, but, when he gets out, that wold seems to have collapsed.

First script reading for TV Chosun drama series “Marriage Lyrics and Divorce Music” (literal title) took place recently in South Korea. The first script reading included main cast members Lee Ga-Ryeong, Sung Hoon, Park Joo-Mi, Lee Tae-Kon, Jeon Su-Kyeong, Jeon No-Min, Lee Min-Young. The drama series revolves around three couples, with a woman in her 30’s, 40’s, and 50’s.

Ken Yasuda is cast for the lead role in NHK drama special “Kiyoshiko.” The drama series is based on short story collection “Kiyoshiko” by novelist Kiyoshi Shigematsu (“Your Friends“). The short stories are autobiographical. In the drama special, Ken Yasuda will play Kiyoshi Shiraishi. He decides to write a story based on his own life and how he dealt with a stuttering problem as a child. Also cast for supporting roles are Naomi Nishida, Mitsuru Fukikoshi, Fuma Kikuchi, Soma Torigoe, Ayumu Yokoyama, Daruma, Jiei Wakabayashi, Seiji Chihara, Shihori Kanjiya and Hidekazu Mashima. Filming will begin this and finish January, 2021, while shooting locations take place in Shizuoka prefecture and around the suburbs of Tokyo.
“Kiyoshiko” will air March 20, 2021 in Japan.

According to CJ Entertainment, the release date for movie “Seobok,” starring Gong Yoo & Park Bo-Gum, has been postponed from its original December, 2020 date. The delay is caused by the increase in covid-19 cases in South Korea. The film’s release date will be announced at a later date, but will likely take place sometime in 2021. Movie is written and directed by Lee Yong-Joo (“Architecture 101“).

Kanna Hashimoto, Wakana Aoi, and Ai Yoshikawa are cast in WOWOW drama series “Influence.” The drama series is based on 2017 novel “Influence” by Fumie Kondo. The drama series will revolve around three women who are friends and they have committed three murders. Kanna Hashimoto will play lead character Yuri. Wakana Aoi will play Maho and Ai Yoshikawa will play Satoko.
“Influence” will air sometime next year in Japan and consist of 5 episodes.
