Namkoong Min is cast for the lead role in new MBC drama series “Black Sun” (literal title). The drama series will be directed by Kim Sung-Yong (“The Flower in Prison“). In the drama series, Namkoong Min will play Han Ji-Hyuk. He is an NIS agent that seeks revenge.
“Black Sun” will consist of 12 episodes and air sometime during the second half of 2021 in South Korea.

Here’s three main posters for upcoming MBC drama series “Be a Meal” (literal title) starring Jung Woo-Yeon & Jae Hee. The posters also reveal that the drama series is now set to first air January 11, 2021, slotting into MBC’s Monday through Friday 7:15PM time slot after “My Wonderful Life.” Captions on the three main posters teases “A bowl of warm rice crying out for a hungry world.”

Kim Tae-Hoon and Yoon Ji-Hye are cast for supporting roles in tvN drama series “Like Butterfly” starring Song Kang & Park In-Hwan. The drama series revolves around a 70-year-old man (Park In-Hwan) who decides to pursue his dream of becoming a ballet dancer and a young man (Song Kang) who teaches ballet. Kim Tae-Hoon and Yoon Ji-Hye will play Ki Seung-Joo and Eun So-Ri. They are a divorced couple. Ki Seung-Joo connects the two main characters.

Mio Imada is cast for the lead female role in live-action film “Tokyo Revengers” co-starring Takumi Kitamura, Yuki Yamada, & Yosuke Sugino. The film is based on manga series “Tokyo Revengers” by Ken Wakui and directed by Tsutomu Hanabusa. Mio Imada will play Hinata Tachibana in the film. In the present day, she gets involved in a fight and dies. This makes Takemichi Hanagaki (Takumi Kitamura) vow revenge her death.

The film already had its world premiere in the Korean Competition section at this year’s Jeonju International Film Festival. The film tells the tale of a woman who gets assigned to a subcontractor company that works with large transmission towers.

Upcoming drama series “The Moon Rising River” (literal title), starring Kim So-Hyun & Ji Soo, is now set to air on KBS2 sometime during the first half of 2021. The drama series will take over KBS2’s Monday & Tuesday 9:30 PM time slot sometime after “Royal Secret Agent.” Actor Kang Ha-Neul will also make a special appearance in the historical drama series as the father of the lead male character.

Poster and trailer added for live-action film “Brave: Gunjyo Senki” starring Mackenyu Arata, Hirona Yamazaki, Haruma Miura, & Kenichi Matsuyama. Movie is based on manga series “Gunjyo Senki” by Masaki Kasahara and directed by Katsuyuki Motohiro (“Bayside Shakedown“). The film follows a high school that gets zapped by lightning and travels back in time to the Sengoku Period. Meanwhile, the movie’s theme song has been revealed as “Hourglass” by rock band Uverworld.” The theme song “Hourglass” plays during the main trailer.
“Brave: Gunjyo Senki” will be released March 12, 2021 in Japan.

The film is based on the true story of scholar Jung Yak-Jeon (1758-1816) and fisherman Jang Chang-Dae. Movie is directed by Lee Joon-Ik and scripted by Kim Se-Kyum. Director Lee Joon-Ik and screenwriter Kim Se-Kyum previously worked together for 2018 movie “Sunset In My Hometown.”
