Uhm Jung-Hwa & Song Seung-Heon cast in ENA drama “My Golden Star”

Uhm Jung-Hwa and Song Seung-Heon are cast for lead roles in ENA drama series “My Golden Star” (literal title). Lee El and Oh Dae-Hwan are also cast for major supporting character roles. The drama series will have Uhm Jung-Hwa play a middle aged woman named Bong Cheong-Ja and claims to be popular star Im Se-Ra who disappeared 25 years ago. She seems to have lost all of her memories from the past 25 years. Song Seung-Heon will play Doggo Cheol. He is a traffic cop and was demoted to his current position from a detective in the violent crimes department. Meanwhile, Lee El will play popular star Go Hee-Young and Oh Dae-Hwan will play entertainment company CEO Kang Du-Won.

“My Golden Star” will air sometime in the second half of this year.

Air date & first script reading for SBS drama “Red Sky”

First script reading for SBS drama series “Red Sky,” starring Kim You-Jung & Ahn Hyo-Seop, took place November, 2020 in South Korea. The first script reading was attended by main cast members Kim You-Jung, Ahn Hyo-Seop, Gong Myung, Kwak Si-Yang, Jang Hyun-Sung, Kim Kwang-Kyu, &  Moon Sook. The drama series is set in historical times and mixes fact and fiction.

Ep.1 of “Red Sky” is now scheduled to air August, 2021, taking over SBS’ Monday and Tuesday 10PM time slot after “Racket Boys.”

First still images for MBN drama “Bossam: Steal the Fate “

Here’s the first still images from MBN drama series “Bossam: Steal the Fate” (literal title) starring Jung Il-Woo & Kwon Yuri. “Bossam” in the title refers to a customary remarriage procedure that took place during the Joseon period. Widows could not remarry, so single men or widowers sometimes hired someone to kidnap the widow for marriage. This was known as bossam. Jung Il-Woo will play Ba-Woo. He mistakenly kidnaps a princess played by Kwon Yuri.

“Bossam: Steal the Fate” will air on MBN sometime during the first half of this year in South Korea.

Main trailer for movie “Pretty Men (My Bittersweet Family)”

Main trailer added for movie “Pretty Men (My Bittersweet Family)” starring Shin Min-Jae & Hwang Jung-Yoon. Movie is directed by Kim Jeong-Uk & Lee Byeong-Hun (“Extreme Job“). Captions in the main trailer states (0:17) “Most earnest man in the universe,” (0:24) “No Money,” (0:39) “No family, no house, timid man Ki-Sung,” (0:50) “All he has is cuteness,” (01:03) “He has to take his family back, but he fell in love unexpectedly,” (01:10) “From now on, everyone falls for this man.”

“Pretty Men (My Bittersweet Family)” will be released January, 2021 in South Korea.

Masao Kusakari cast in WOWOW drama series “Operation Z”

Masao Kusakari is cast for the lead role in WOWOW drama series “Operation Z.” The drama series is based on 2017 novel novel “Operation Z” by Jin Mayama (“Hagetaka: Road to Rebirth“) and directed by Shosuke Murakami (“Pandora IV: AI War“). For the drama series, Masao Kusakari will play Prime Minister  Takamori Ejima. The drama series will consist of 6 episode and first air March, 2020 in Japan.

Teaser trailer #2 for KBS2 drama series “The Tale of Nokdu”

Teaser trailer #2 added for KBS2 drama series “The Tale of Nokdu” (English title) starring Jang Dong-Yoon and Kim So-Hyun. The drama series is based on webcomic “Nokdujeon” by Hye Jin Yang. While teaser trailer #1 focused on Jang Dong-Yoon as Jeon Nok-Du, teaser trailer #2 focuses on Kim So-Hyun as Dong Dong-Ju. At around the 17 second mark of teaser trailer #2, caption appears in Korean that introduces our lead female character with “Awfully bright apprentice gisaeng, Dong Dong-Ju.” Meanwhile, below are the first still images of Kim So-Hyun in the drama series.

“The Tale of Nokdu” first airs September 30, 2019 in South Korea.

Park Hee-Soon, Choo Ja-Hyun, Oh Man-Seok and Cho Yeo-Jeong cast in JTBC drama series “Beautiful World”

Park Hee-Soon, Choo Ja-Hyun, Oh Man-Seok and Cho Yeo-Jeong are cast in JTBC drama series “Beautiful World” (literal title).  Park Hee-Soon and Choo Ja-Hyun will play a married couple whose son is seriously injured at school due to violence. Oh Man-Seok and Cho Yeo-Jeong will play a wealthy married couple. Their son is a troublemaker.

“Beautiful World” first airs April, 2019 (takes over JTBC’s Friday and Saturday 11pm time slot after “Legal High“).

First still images of Kim You-Jung in JTBC drama series “Clean With Passion For Now”

Here’s the first three still images of Kim You-Jung in upcoming JTBC drama series “Clean With Passion For Now” (literal title). The drama series is based on webcomic “Ildan Ddeugeobge Chungsohara” by Aaengo. “Clean With Passion For Now” was originally scheduled to air from April, 2018, but Kim You-Jung had to receive treatment for hypothyroidism which delayed production. In the drama series, Kim You-Jung plays Gil O-Sol. She struggles to find a decent paying job and goes through various part-time jobs. She doesn’t have time to worry about her appearance and usually wears an old sweatsuit.

“Clean With Passion For Now” is now scheduled to first air November 26, 2018 in South Korea (takes over JTBC’s Monday and Tuesday 9:30 PM time slot after “The Beauty Inside“).
