Shun Oguri cast in TBS drama “Japan Sinks: People of Hope”

Shun Oguri is cast for the lead role in TBS drama series “Japan Sinks: People of Hope” (literal title). Also cast for supporting character roles are Kenichi MatsuyamaAnne WatanabeToru Nakamura and Teruyuki Kagawa. As you might guess from the familiar literal title, the drama series is based on 1973 novel “Nihon Chinbotsu” by Sakyo Komatsu. 1973 film “Japan Sinks” and 2006 film “The Sinking of Japan” are also based on the same novel. Shun Oguri will play government official Keishi Amami. He must deal with the crisis that his country could sink into the ocean.

“Japan Sinks: People of Hope” will first air October, 2021 in Japan.

Shin Hyun-Bin cast in JTBC drama “Person Who Looks Like You”

Shin Hyun-Bin is cast in JTBC drama series “Person Who Looks Like You” (literal title) starring Ko Hyun-Jung. For the drama series, Shin Hyun-Bin will play second lead female character Hae-Won. She is scripted as being honest and forthright. She works as an art teacher and comes from a poor background, but she is still able to shine. After Hae-Won meets Hee-Joo (Ko Hyun-Jung), she changes.

“Person Who Looks Like You” will air sometime next year in South Korea.

Yuya Yagira & Yo Oizumi cast in Netflix movie “Asakusa Kid”

 Yuya Yagira and Yo Oizumi are cast in Netflix movie “Asakusa Kid.” The film is based on 1988 autobiographical novel “Asakusa Kid” by Takeshi Kitano, as well as his 1986 song “Asakusa Kid.” The movie will be directed by actor Hitori Gekidan. For the film, which is set in 1965, Yuya Yagira will play Takeshi Kitano. He begins to apprentice under entertainer Senzaburo Fukami played by Yo Oizumi.

Mone Kamishiraishi & Nanao cast in TBS drama “Oh! My Boss!”

Mone Kamishiraishi & Nanao are cast in TBS drama series “Oh! My Boss! Love Is A Bonus Book” (literal title of “Oh! My Boss! Koi wa Bessatsu de”). Also cast in supporting roles are Yuta Tamamori (Kis-My-Ft2) and Shotaro Mamiya. The drama series will have Mone Kamishiraishi playing Nami Suzuki. From her small town background, she begins to work for a fashion magazine in Tokyo. Nanao will play Reiko Horai. She works as an editor at the fashion magazine and Nami Suzuki’s boss.
