Trailer and poster added for movie “Matched: True Love” starring Tao Tsuchiya, Daisuke Sakuma, and Kwak Dong-Yeon. Movie is written & directed by Eiji Uchida and is also a sequel to 2024 movie “Matched,” which was also written & directed by Eiji Uchida. The 2024 movie “Matched” revolved around a dating app that was linked to a serial killer case and had its female protagonist Rinka Tadashima played by Tao Tsuchiya. In the second film, Tao Tsuchiya as Rinka Tadashima begins to work as a staff member for a “matched tour” that takes place at a resort on an island. A sudden death game ensues from the matched tour.
“Matched: True Love” will be released September 25, 2026.
Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: Two years have passed since the serial murder case linked by a dating app. Having overcome the trauma from that time, Rinka Tadashima (Tao Tsuchiya) and Tomu Nagayama (Daisuke Sakuma) have begun to date. One day, Tomu Nagayama suddenly disappears. At the same time, a new series of murders, that seem to mimic the dating app serial murder case, begins. A large amount of white roses and an X marked on the face of the dead body is found at the scenes.Suspicion falls upon the missing Tomu Nagayama.
Two months after Tomu Nagayama’s disappearance, Rinka Tadashima joins as a staff for a matching tour, held at a resort on a southern island. What awaits for the participants of the matching tour is a death game, with a rule that if a participant can’t prove true love they will be killed.
