KBS2 drama “School 2021” air date

Upcoming KBS2 drama series “School 2021,” starring Kim Yo-Han, is now scheduled to air from August, 2021 in South Korea. Consequently, the title of the drama series has been adjusted from “School 2020” to “School 2021.” Casting for the lead female actress is ongoing and has not yet been finalized. Teen actresses Ahn Seo-Hyun & Kim Sae-Ron were previously linked to the role, but both ultimately did not take the role.

Masahiro Matsuoka cast in WOWOW drama “Mikkoku wa Utau”

Masahiro Matsuoka (member of  rock band Tokio) is cast for the lead role in WOWOW drama series “Mikkoku wa Utau.” The drama series is based on 2017 novel “Mikkoku wa Utau” by Gentaro Igane. Drama series “Mikkoku wa Utau” will have Masahiro Matsuoka playing Detective Masaki Sara. He investigates the death of his colleague during a murder investigation.

“Mikkoku wa Utau” will consist of 6 episodes and first air sometime next year in Japan.

Trailer for movie “The Fable: A Contract Killer Who Doesn’t Kill”

Main trailer added for live-action sequel film “The Fable: A Contract Killer Who Doesn’t Kill” (literal title) starring Junichi Okada & Fumino Kimura. The film has recently picked up its official Japanese title of “The Fable: Korosanai Koroshiya,” which translates into “The Fable: A Contract Killer Who Doesn’t Kill.” The script is based on manga series “The Fable” by Katsuhisa Minami and follows 2019 movie “The Fable.”

“The Fable: A Contract Killer Who Doesn’t Kill” will be released February 5, 2021 in Japan.

Character posters for tvN drama “No Touch Princess”

Here’s four character posters for upcoming tvN drama series “No Touch Princess” (English title) starring Shin Hye-Sun & Kim Jung-Hyun. The character posters are of Shin Hye-Sun as Kim So-Yong, Kim Jung-Hyun as King Cheoljong, Bae Jong-Ok as Queen Sunwon, and Kim Tae-Woo as Kim Jwa-Geun. The fantasy-comedy drama series has Shin Hye-Sun playing a man from the present day that somehow takes over the body of Kim So-Yong in a historical period. Caption on Shin Hye-Sun’s poster states “I am sure you are going to be shocked, but try to get as little as you can .. I am actually a man.” Captions on Kim Jung-Hyun’s poster states “Queen is more unusual and strange than anyone else… it’s like she is from another world.” Captions on Bae-Jong-Ok’s poster states “To keep youth and beauty is to maintain power.” Lastly, caption on Kim Tae-Woo’s poster states “It is more important for us who be than who is.

Wakana Aoi and Terunosuke Takezai are cast in TBS-MBS live-action drama series “Marriage with a Large Age Gap” (literal title). The drama series is based on manga “Toshi no Sakon” by Atsuki Nakama. Setup for the drama series has a 24-year-old woman played by Wakana Aoi marrying a 44-year-old man played by Terunosuke Takezai.

“Marriage with a Large Age Gap” first airs December 15, 2020 in Japan.

Jung Woo-Yeon & Jae Hee cast in MBC drama “Be a Meal”

Jung Woo-Yeon and Jae Hee are cast for lead roles in MBC weekday drama series “Be a Meal” (literal title). For Jung-Woo-Yeon, she previously worked under her birth name of Ryu Hyo-Young and this is her first time working under her new stage name. The drama series will have Jung Woo-Yeon playing a woman who has a natural talent for cooking traditional royal cuisine.

“Be a Meal” will first air January, 2021 (takes over MBC’s Monday – Friday 7:20 AM time slot after “My Wonderful Life“).

Main trailer & poster for movie “First Love”

Main trailer and poster added for upcoming thriller film “First Love” starring Keiko Kitagawa & Tomoya Nakamura. Movie is based on novel “First Love” by Rio Shimamoto (“Narratage“), which is the winner of the 159th Naoki Prize in 2018. Meanwhile, the movie’s theme song has been revealed as  “First Love” by singer Uru. The theme song plays during the main trailer as well.

“First Love” will be released February 11, 2021 in Japan.

Kenshi Okada cast in NTV drama “Date My Daughter”

Kenshi Okada is cast in NTV drama series “Date My Daughter” starring Miho Kanno & Minami Hamabe. For the drama series, Kenshi Okada will play Hikaru Irino. He is a university student and attends the same school as Sora Minase (Minami Hamabe). While he has an attractive appearance and is popular with women, he does not have a girlfriend. He thinks of love as being an annoyance, but he gets involved with Sora Minase.

“Date My Daughter” first airs January, 2021 in Japan (takes over NTV’s Wednesday 10PM time slot after “RemoteLove“).
