Trailer and poster added for movie “Matching” starring Tao Tsuchiya, Daisuke Sakuma, & Nobuaki Kaneko. The suspense-thriller film is co-scripted & directed by Eiji Uchida (“Offbeat Cops“). The film’s theme song has also been announced as “800” by female pop singer Aimer and is played during the trailer. The trailer begins with a voice stating “Do you really know the people who you meet by swiping (on your dating app)?”

“Matching” will be released February 23, 2024 in Japan.

Main trailer for Disney+ drama “Dragons of Wonder Hatch”

Main trailer added for Disney+ drama series “Dragons of Wonder Hatch” starring Sena Nakajima, Daiken Okudaira, & Mackenyu Arata. The trailer begins with narration that states “This is a story for you who is far away.” The drama series features a mixture of live-action and animation and tells a story set in the real world and a fantasy world where dragon riders live. The series itself will consist of 8 episodes. The first two episodes will be released December 20, 2023 and two more episodes will be released December 27, 2023 and then one episode per week will be released until its conclusion.

Mei Nagano and Fumiya Takahashi cast in movie “Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san”

Mei Nagano and Fumiya Takahashi are cast in live-action film “Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san.” The movie is based on manga series “Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san” by Soichiro Yamamoto and is a sequel to TBS drama series “Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san” that will air next March. The movie will be set 10 years after the drama series and have the two main characters, who are now adults, working as teachers at the same middle school. Director Rikiya Imaizumi directs both the drama series and the live-action film.

“Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san” will be released May 31, 2024 in Japan.

The period action-comedy drama series follows Jo Yeo-Hwa, who lives a dual life as a widow by day and a warrior at night. As a warrior, she helps those who are vulnerable and weak. Caption on the poster states “If the strict laws of the country can’t save the powerless people, then I will save them.”

“Night Blooming Flower” first airs January 12, 2024 in South Korea (takes over MBC’s Friday and Saturday 9:50 time slot after “The Story Of Park’s Marriage Contract“).

Minami Hamabe, Eiji Akaso, and Mansai Nomura cast in movie “Moshimo Tokugawa Ieyasu ga Sori Daijin ni Nattara”

Minami Hamabe, Eiji Akaso, and Mansai Nomura are cast in movie “Moshimo Tokugawa Ieyasu ga Sori Daijin ni Nattara.” Movie is based on 2021 novel “Moshimo Tokugawa Ieyasu ga Sori Daijin ni Nattara” by Akihito Manabe and directed by Hideki Takeuchi (“Thermae Romae“). The film is set in 2020, when COVID-19 is creating chaos around the world. After the Japanese prime minister suddenly dies from the virus, the government decides to form a super cabinet of legendary leaders from Japan’s past via AI holograms. Minami Hamabe will play Risa Nishimura. She is a news reporter and discovers something about the new cabinet.

“Moshimo Tokugawa Ieyasu ga Sori Daijin ni Nattara” will be released July 26, 2024 in Japan.

Satomi Ishihara is cast in TV Asahi drama series “Destiny.” The suspense-romance screenplay is written Noriko Yoshida (“Liaison“). In the drama series “Destiny,” Satomi Ishihara will play main character Kanade Nishimura. As a 35 year old prosecutor, she suddenly must confront a suspicious death case that occurred when she was a law school student and her father’s death case that occurred some 20 years ago.

“Destiny” will first air April, 2024 in Japan.

Nao and Noritake Kinashi are cast in Fuji TV drama series “Haru ni Nattara.” The family drama is scripted by Yasushi Fukuda (“Hero“) and directed by Kana Matsumoto (“Tokyo Oasis“) and Mayu Akiyama (“Rent A Friend“). The two leads will play daughter and father and they both reveal shocking news to each other on New Year’s Day.
