The drama film revolves around a mother and father who endure the disappearance of their young daughter. Kento Yamazaki, Ryo Yoshizawa, and Kanna Hashimoto are cast in movie “Kingdom 4.” The live-action film is based on manga series manga series “Kingdom” by Yasuhisa Hara and will be directed by Shinsuke Sato (who directed the previous 3 “Kingdom” films). Also cast to play new characters in “Kingdom 4” are Koji Kikkawa and Shun Oguri. MEanwhile, the first teaser trailer has been added on AsianWiki.

Jung Hae-In is cast for the lead male role in tvN drama series “Mom’s Friend’s Son” (literal title). The drama series is a romantic-comedy and pairs director Yoo Je-Won and screenwriter Shin Ha-Eun, whom previously worked together in 2021 tvN drama series “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha.” Meanwhile, actress Jung So-Min has been offered the lead female role and she is currently considering the offer. In “Mom’s Friend’s Son,” Jung Hae-In will play Choi Seung-Hyo. He grew up with a girl named Bae Seok-Ryu, because his mom was good friends with her mom. They meet as adults.
“Mom’s Friend’s Son” will air sometime during the second half of 2024 in South Korea.

Sara Shida and Kanata Hongo are cast in NTV live-action drama series “Kesenai Watashi.” The revenge themed drama series is based on manga series “Kesenai Watashi: Enjo Shitsuzukeru Digital Tattoo” by Shinobu Kuroda. Sara Shida will play the lead role of Shoko Haibara. Her life is ruined by her high school school classmates. 10 years later and instead of taking her own life, she decides to get revenge.

Netflix picks up drama series “The 8 Show” starring Ryoo Joon-Yeol, Chun Woo-Hee, and Park Jung-Min. The drama series had the early working title of “Money Game” and is based on webcomics “Money Game” and “Pi Game” by Bae Jin-Soo. Setup for “The 8 Show” follows 8 people who are placed in an empty 8 story building and must survive there to win money.
Netflix will release “The 8 Show” sometime next year.

Hikari Mitsushima and Masaki Okada are cast in suspense film “Last Mile.” Movie is directed by Ayuko Tsukahara and scripted Akiko Nogi. The director and screenwriter previously worked together on 2018 TBS drama series “Unnatural” and 2020 TBS drama series “MIU 404.” The film will have Hikari Mitsushima and Masaki Okada play employees at a large package distribution center. A series of mailed package bombings occur, placing the entire nation in fear. The first teaser trailer can also be viewed at AsianWiki.

Ji Sung and Jeon Mi-Do are cast in SBS drama series “Connection.” The psychological crime investigation thriller is scripted by Lee Hyun (“Diary of a Prosecutor“) and directed by Kim Moon-Kyo (“Trolley“). In the drama series, Ji Sung will play Detective Jang Jae-Kyeong. He is a detective with strong convictions. Jeon Mi-Do will play Reporter Oh Yoon-Jin. She is highly opinionated and outspoken. They somehow come together to work on a case.
“Connection” first airs sometime next year in South Korea.

Ryo Narita, Yudai Chiba, & Kwon Eun-Bi are cast in movie “Stolen Identity 3.” The film is the third installment of “the Stolen Identity” films following 2018 movie “Stolen Identity” and 2020 movie “Stolen Identity 2.” The films are based on 2017 novel “Sumaho o Otoshita dake ” by Akira Shiga. While Ryo Narita and Yudai Chiba will reprise their roles of Yoshiharu Urano and Manabu Kagaya in “Stolen Identity 3,” South Korean Kwon Eun-Bi is cast for her feature film role. Kwon Eun-Bi is a former member of idol group IZ*ONE. For the movie, Kwon Eun-Bi will play mysterious woman Soo-Min.
“Stolen Identity 3” will be released sometime next year in South Korea.

Teaser trailer added for movie “Happiness” starring Airu Kubozuka and Aju Makita. The film is based on novel “Happiness” by Novala Takemoto and directed by Tetsuo Shinohara (“Terminal“). First batch of supporting actors has been announced for the film and they are Ai Hashimoto, Masayoshi Yamazaki, and Yo Yoshida. Ai Hashimoto will play Yukio Kunikida’s (Airu Kubozuka) older sister Tsukiko Kunikida. Masayoshi Yamazaki and Yo Yoshida will play Yuma Yamagishi’s (Aju Makita) parents Hideo Yamagishi and Riyo Yamagishi.
“Happiness” will be released May 17, 2024 in Japan.
