Ji Sung and Jeon Mi-Do are cast in SBS drama series “Connection”

Ji Sung and Jeon Mi-Do are cast in SBS drama series “Connection.” The psychological crime investigation thriller is scripted by Lee Hyun (“Diary of a Prosecutor“) and directed by Kim Moon-Kyo (“Trolley“). In the drama series, Ji Sung will play Detective Jang Jae-Kyeong. He is a detective with strong convictions. Jeon Mi-Do will play Reporter Oh Yoon-Jin. She is highly opinionated and outspoken. They somehow come together to work on a case.

“Connection” first airs sometime next year in South Korea.

Ryo Narita, Yudai Chiba, & Kwon Eun-Bi cast in movie “Stolen Identity 3”

Ryo Narita, Yudai Chiba, & Kwon Eun-Bi are cast in movie “Stolen Identity 3.” The film is the third installment of “the Stolen Identity” films following 2018 movie “Stolen Identity” and 2020 movie “Stolen Identity 2.” The films are based on 2017 novel “Sumaho o Otoshita dake ” by Akira Shiga. While Ryo Narita and Yudai Chiba will reprise their roles of Yoshiharu Urano and Manabu Kagaya in “Stolen Identity 3,” South Korean Kwon Eun-Bi is cast for her feature film role. Kwon Eun-Bi is a former member of idol group IZ*ONE. For the movie, Kwon Eun-Bi will play mysterious woman Soo-Min.

“Stolen Identity 3” will be released sometime next year in South Korea.

Teaser trailer for movie “Happiness”

Teaser trailer added for movie “Happiness” starring Airu Kubozuka and Aju Makita. The film is based on novel “Happiness” by Novala Takemoto and directed by Tetsuo Shinohara (“Terminal“). First batch of supporting actors has been announced for the film and they are Ai Hashimoto, Masayoshi Yamazaki, and Yo Yoshida. Ai Hashimoto will play Yukio Kunikida’s (Airu Kubozuka) older sister Tsukiko Kunikida. Masayoshi Yamazaki and Yo Yoshida will play Yuma Yamagishi’s (Aju Makita) parents Hideo Yamagishi and Riyo Yamagishi.

“Happiness” will be released May 17, 2024 in Japan.

Kento Yamazaki cast in movie “Onmyoji Zero”

Kento Yamazaki is cast for the lead role in movie “Onmyoji Zero.” Also cast for the film are Shota Sometani, Nao, Masanobu Ando, Nijiro Murakami Rihito Itagaki, Jun Kunimura, Kazuki Kitamura, and Kaoru Kobayashi. The film will have Kento Yamazaki play Seimei Abe, who was a prominent onmyoji during his life (921-1005 AD). Meanwhile, the first teaser trailer and poster has been added on AsianWiki.

“Seimei Abe” will be released April 19, 2024 in Japan.

Main trailer for ENA drama “Like Flowers in Sand”

Main trailer added for ENA drama series “Like Flowers in Sand” starring Jang Dong-Yoon and Lee Joo-Myoung. The main trailer begins with Jang Dong-Yoon stating “I’ll retire. If I can’t become a champion this time as well, I’ll retire.” Around the 49 second mark Lee Joo-Myoung states “Do whatever you want. If you want to do it then do it and if you don’t want to do it then say you don’t want to.” The drama series revolves around the Korean wrestling sport called “ssireum,” which was also featured in 2006 movie “Like a Virgin.”

“Like Flowers in Sand” first airs December 20, 2023 in South Korea.

Main trailer and poster added for Netflix drama “Gyeongseong Creature”

Main trailer and poster added for upcoming Netflix drama series “Gyeongseong Creature” starring Park Seo-Joon and Han So-Hee. The drama series is set in 1945 and set around Ongseong Hospital. Caption on the poster states “Relationship, drama of the intense fate. Ill-fated relationship, drama of the powerful karma.” The trailer shows Jang Tae-Sang (Park Seo-Joon) who is the owner of Geumokdang, the biggest pawnshop in Gyeongseong. He goes to Yoon Chae-Ok (Han So-Hee) to help him find Police Commissioner Ishikawa’s mistress. Yoon Chae-Ok decides to work with Jang Tae-Sang, who can help her find her missing mother. They hear a rumor that patients that are sent to Ongseong Hospital never come back. 

“Gyeongseong Creature” will be available to stream December 22, 2023 and “Gyeongseong Creature Part 2” will be available to stream January 5, 2024.

The teaser trailer shows the relationships of its four main characters: Kang Ji-Won (Park Min-Young), Yoo Ji-Hyeok (Na In-Woo), Park Min-Hwan (Lee Yi-Kyung) and Jung Soo-Min Song Ha-Yoon). Around the 15 second mark, Park Min-Young states “Congratulations, marrying the trash I threw away.”

Trailer and poster added for Netflix live-action drama series “Yu Yu Hakusho” starring Takumi Kitamura and Go Ayano. The drama series is based on manag series “Yu Yu Hakusho” by Yoshihiro Togashi. The poster shows Yusuke Urameshi (Takumi Kitamura) and Younger Toguro (Go Ayano) standing face to face. Younger Toguro is the biggest enemy of Yusuke Urameshi.

“Yu Yu Hakusho” will be available to stream December 14, 2023. Netflix will also hold an eve event that will be held December 13, 2023 and live streamed on its social media channels.
