Teaser poster & release date for movie “Child of the Stars”

Teaser poster added for movie “Child of the Stars” (literal title) starring Mana Ashida. Caption on the teaser poster states “Trust. Love. Become an adult…” Speaking of becoming an audlt, Mana Ashida is now 16 years old and she’s on the doorsteps of adulthood herself.

“Child of the Stars” has also picked up a October, 2020 release date in Japan.

Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: When Chihiro (Mana Ashida) was a baby, she suffered from eczema. Her parents tried to find a cure, but nothing worked. Her father’s co-worker then gave him some water from a strange religious group. Chihiro was miraculously cured by the water. Her parents began to follow the strange religion and became fervent followers. Chihiro is now in the 3rd grade of middle school and she faces changes in her life.

Hidekazu Mashima is cast in NTV drama series “Middle-Aged Man Loves Cute Things” (literal title). The drama series is based on webcomic “Ojisan wa Kawaii Mono ga Osuki” by Tsutomu. The drama series will consist of 5 episodes and air sometime this summer.

Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: Mitsutaka Oji (Hidekazu Mashima) is 43-years-old and works as a sales department manager. He is divorced and lives alone. His colleagues respect him at work, but he has a secret. His secret is that he likes cute things, including dolls of the Pug Taro character.

Teaser poster and supporting cast added for movie “You Are Forever Younger Than Them” (literal title) starring Yui Sakuma & Nao. Newly announced supporting cast members are Show Kasamatsu, Seiichi Kohinata, Yo Aoi, & Kokoro Morita. The film is based on 2005 novel “Kimi wa Eien ni Soitsura yori Wakai” by Kikuko Tsumura and directed by Ryuhei Yoshino (“Spring Has Come“).

“You Are Forever Younger Than Them” will be released sometime during 2021 in Japan.

First script reading for JTBC drama series “18 Again”

First script reading for JTBC drama series “18 Again,” starring Kim Ha-Neul & Yoon Sang-Hyun, took place late March, 2020 in South Korea. The first script reading was attended by cast members Kim Ha-Neul, Yoon Sang-Hyun, Lee Do-Hyun, Kim Yoo-Ri, Wi Ha-Joon, Lee Ki-Woo, Kim Gang-Hyun, Lee Mi-Do, Roh Jeong-Eui, Ryeo Un, Choi Bo-Min and Hwang In-Yeop. The drama series is a remake of 2009 U.S. comedy film “17 Again.” For those curious why the drama series has the slightly different title of “18 Again,” it’s because people in South Korea are considered 1-years-old as soon as they are born and they gain a year each New Year’s day.

“18 Again” first airs September, 2020 (slots into JTBC’s Monday & Tuesday 9:30 PM time slot after “The Good Detective.”).

Taisho Iwasaki, Ryuga Sato, Yuto Nasu, Hidaka Ukisho, Naoki Fujii, and Issei Kanasashi are cast in TV Asahi drama series “Midsummer’s Boy: 19452020” (literal title of “Manatsu no Shonen: 19452020”). The six actors are all members of J-pop boy band “Bishounen.” The drama series follows 6 high school students as they meet a man who traveled through time from the past.

“Midsummer’s Boy: 19452020” first airs July, 2020 in Japan (takes over TV Asahi’s Friday 11:15PM time slot after “Mr. Housekeeper, Mitazono Season 4“).

First script reading for Channel A drama series “Lies of Lies” (literal title), starring Lee Yu-Ri & Yeon Jeong-Hun, took place late January, 2020 in South Korea. The first script reading was attended by director Kim Jeong-Kwon, screenwriter Kim Ji-Eun, Lee Yu-Ri, Yeon Jeong-Hun, Lee Il-Hwa, Lim Ju-Eun, Kwon Hwa-Woon, Kim Seung-Hwan, Lee Won-Jong, Choi Dae-Sung, Ko Su-Hee, Jung Si-A, Yoon Sung-Mo, Baek Song-Yi, Kwon Hyuk-Hyun, and Go Na-Hee. Filming began February, 2020.

“Lies of Lies” will first air September, 2020 in South Korea.

Teaser trailer and poster added for movie “The Voice in the Crime” (literal title) starring Shun Oguri & Gen Hoshino. Caption on the teaser poster states “A kid’s voice left on a threatening tape.” The movie is based on 2016  novel “Tsumi no Koe” by Takeshi Shiota, which is motivated by a real life extortion case. 10 new supporting cast members have also been announced for the film. Im Si-Wan & Shin Se-Kyung cast in JTBC drama series “Run On”

Im Si-Wan & Shin Se-Kyung cast for lead roles in JTBC drama series “Run On.” Sooyoung & Kang Tae-Oh are also cast for second leading characters. In the drama series, Im Si-Wan plays sports agent Ki Sun-Gyeom. Shin Se-Kyung will play movie subtitle translator Oh Mi-Joo. They develop a romantic relationship. Filming for the drama series will begin this summer and the drama series will air sometime during the winter.

Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: A love story between Ki Sun-Gyeom (Im Si-Wan) and Oh Mi-Joo (Shin Se-Kyung).

Ki Sun-Gyeom was once a popular sprinter for the national team. Due to a case, he quit the sport. He then begins to work as a sports agent. Meanwhile, Oh Mi-Joo writes subtitle translations for movies. She was thrilled when she first she her name as a translator during the end credits. She meets Ki Sun-Gyeom, who just quit being a sprinter. She feels they were destined to meet.

Seo Dan-A (Sooyoung) is the CEO of a sports agency. She is the only child of a man who runs the Seomyung Group. Because of her gender, she is pushed back on the list of potential successors to the Seomyung Group. She lives fiercely to take back what originally belonged to her. Lee Young-Hwa (Kang Tae-Oh) then appears in her life. He is a university student, majoring in art. He likes movies and croquis drawing.

First script reading for KBS2 drama series “Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol”

First script reading for KBS2 drama series “Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol” (literal title), starring Go Ara, Lee Jae-Wook, and Kim Joo-Hun, took place early May, 2020 in South Korea. The first script reading was attended by Go Ara, Lee Jae-Wook, Kim Joo-Hun, Ye Ji-WonShin Eun-Soo , Lee Soon-Jae , Seo Yi-Sook, Moon Tae-Yoo, Song Min-Jae, Lee Sun-Hee and Park Sung-Yeon. Director Kim Min-Kyeong and screenwriter Oh Ji-Young also attended the script reading. The drama series tells a bright romantic story between pianist Goo Ra-Ra (Go Ara) and Sun Won-Joon (Lee Jae-Wook).

“Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol” is now set to first air August, 2020 in South Korea (takes over KBS2’s Wednesday & Thursday 9:30PM time slot after “Memorials“).
