Eric, Yoo In-Na, & Lim Ju-Hwan cast in MBC drama series “The Spy Who Loved Me”

Eric, Yoo In-Na, and Lim Ju-Hwan are cast in MBC drama series “The Spy Who Loved Me” (literal title). The drama series is scripted by Lee Ji-Min. This is Lee Ji-Min’s first drama series screenplay, after writing numerous movie screenplays including “Sori: Voice From The Heart,” “The Age of Shadows,” and “Forbidden Dream.” The twist in the screenplay of “The Spy Who Loved Me” is that Yoo In-Na plays a woman who was married to a secret agent (Eric) and is now married to a secret industrial spy (Lim Ju-Hwan).

“The Spy Who Loved Me” first airs October, 2020 in South Korea (takes over MBC’s Wednesday & Thursday 9:30 PM time slot after “When I Was The Prettiest.”).

Teaser trailer and poster for movie “Wife of a Spy”

Teaser trailer and poster added for movie “Wife of a Spy” starring Yu Aoi and Issey Takahashi. The film is the theatrical movie version of NHK drama special “Wife of a Spy,” which aired June 6, 2020 on NHK. The drama special was filmed in 8k, which was the first time for heralded director Kiyoshi Kurosawa. “Wife of a Spy” is a romance thriller set in the year 1940.

Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: Set in 1940, Yusaku (Issey Takahashi) runs a trading company in Kobe, Japan and he he is married to Satoko (Yu Aoi). While on a business trip in Manchuria, Yusaku learns of a horrific national secret. For the sake of justice, he decides to let the whole world know about his discovery. Satoko believes Yusaku, who is now accused of being a traitor. She swears to be with Yusaku no matter the consequences.

Release date & still images for movie “Soiree”

Upcoming movie “Soiree,” starring Nijiro Murakami & Haruka Imou, has received a release date of August 28, 2020 in Japan. 9 new still images has also been revealed for the upcoming film. Movie is written and directed by Bunji Satoyama (“A Sparkle Of Life“). Veteran actor Kosuke Toyohara is also the producer for the film.

Kang Ha-Neul & Han Hyo-Joo cast in movie “The Pirates 2”

Kang Ha-Neul and Han Hyo-Joo are cast for lead roles in sequel film “The Pirates 2.” Also cast in the film are Kwon Sang-Woo, Lee Kwang-Soo, Chae Soo-Bin, and Sehun. The film is a sequel to 2014 film “The Pirates” which starred Kim Nam-Gil and Son Ye-Jin in the lead roles. Filming for “The Pirates 2” will begin July, 2020. The film will be directed by Kim Jung-Hoon (“The Accidental Detective“) and scripted by Chun Sung-Il, who wrote the screenplay for 2014 film “The Pirates.”

First script reading for MBC drama series “When I Was The Prettiest”

First script reading for MBC drama series “When I Was The Prettiest” (literal title), starring Lim Soo-Hyang & Ji Soo, took place April, 2020 at MBC Ilsan Dream Center in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. Those attended the script reading included Lim Soo-Hyang, Ji Soo, Ha Seok-Jin, Hwang Seung-Un, Park Ji-Young, Kim Mi-Kyung, Choi Jong-Hwan, Lee Jae-Yong, Jung Eun-Pyo, and Shin Yi. Drama series director Oh Kyung-Hoon and screenwriter Jo Hyoun-Kyoung were in attendance. Director Oh Kyung-Hoon stated at the first script reading “I hope we unite together as a team for half a year and work under a good mood. I hope we will produce good results while working together.”

Auditions underway to cast lead roles for drama series “Blue Sky”

Auditions are currently underway to cast lead & supporting roles for drama series “Blue Sky.” The drama series will depict the early days of popular boy band BTS. The exact network to air the drama series has not yet been decided, but Kim Jae-Hong (“This is My Love“) will direct the drama series and the screenplay will be written by Kim Soo-Jin (“The Light in Your Eyes“). Trailer for movie “True Mothers”

Trailer added for movie “True Mothers” starring Hiromi Nagasaku and Arata Iura. The film is based on 2015 novel “Asa ga Kuru” by Mizuki Tsujimura (“Until The Break Of Dawn“) and directed by Naomi Kawase. “True Mothers” was also selected for the 2020 Cannes Film Festivals (the festival will not open to the public this year due to the Covid-19 outbreak).
