Kang Ha-Neul & Han Hyo-Joo cast in movie “The Pirates 2”

Kang Ha-Neul and Han Hyo-Joo are cast for lead roles in sequel film “The Pirates 2.” Also cast in the film are Kwon Sang-Woo, Lee Kwang-Soo, Chae Soo-Bin, and Sehun. The film is a sequel to 2014 film “The Pirates” which starred Kim Nam-Gil and Son Ye-Jin in the lead roles. Filming for “The Pirates 2” will begin July, 2020. The film will be directed by Kim Jung-Hoon (“The Accidental Detective“) and scripted by Chun Sung-Il, who wrote the screenplay for 2014 film “The Pirates.”

Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: A search takes place over the ocean to find the lost treasure of the Goryeo royal family, which disappeared without trace.

Woo Moo-Chi (Kang Ha-Neul) was once a leader of a group of bandits, but he now stays on a pirate ship with his right-hand man Kang-Seob (Kim Sung-Oh). Hae-Rang (Han Hyo-Joo) is the leader of pirates on the pirate ship. She has Mak-Yi (Lee Kwang-Soo), So-Nyeo (Chae Soo-Bin) and Han-Goong (Sehun) and Akwi (Park Ji-Hwan).

The pirates find themselves up against Bu Heung-Soo (Kwon Sang-Woo) to recover the lost treasure.

First script reading for MBC drama series “When I Was The Prettiest”

First script reading for MBC drama series “When I Was The Prettiest” (literal title), starring Lim Soo-Hyang & Ji Soo, took place April, 2020 at MBC Ilsan Dream Center in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. Those attended the script reading included Lim Soo-Hyang, Ji Soo, Ha Seok-Jin, Hwang Seung-Un, Park Ji-Young, Kim Mi-Kyung, Choi Jong-Hwan, Lee Jae-Yong, Jung Eun-Pyo, and Shin Yi. Drama series director Oh Kyung-Hoon and screenwriter Jo Hyoun-Kyoung were in attendance. Director Oh Kyung-Hoon stated at the first script reading “I hope we unite together as a team for half a year and work under a good mood. I hope we will produce good results while working together.”

“When I Was The Prettiest” will first air August, 2020 (takes over MBC’s Wednesday & Thursday 9:30 PM time slot after “United Effort to Accomplish One Thing.”).

Auditions underway to cast lead roles for drama series “Blue Sky”

Auditions are currently underway to cast lead & supporting roles for drama series “Blue Sky.” The drama series will depict the early days of popular boy band BTS. The exact network to air the drama series has not yet been decided, but Kim Jae-Hong (“This is My Love“) will direct the drama series and the screenplay will be written by Kim Soo-Jin (“The Light in Your Eyes“). The screenplay will tell the true story of BTS, but also contain fictional elements. BTS consists of Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook

Trailer added for live-action film “Love Me, Love Me Not” starring Minami Hamabe, Takumi Kitamura, Riko Fukumoto, and Eiji Akaso. Movie is based on manga “Omoi, Omoware, Furi, Furare” by Io Sakisaka and directed by Takahiro Miki. The theme song for the movie has been announced, which is “115 man Kilo no Film” by Official Hige Dandism. The theme song also appears in the trailer.

Trailer for movie “True Mothers”

Trailer added for movie “True Mothers” starring Hiromi Nagasaku and Arata Iura. The film is based on 2015 novel “Asa ga Kuru” by Mizuki Tsujimura (“Until The Break Of Dawn“) and directed by Naomi Kawase. “True Mothers” was also selected for the 2020 Cannes Film Festivals (the festival will not open to the public this year due to the Covid-19 outbreak). The trailer trailer begins with a phone ring and Satoko Kurihara (Hiromi Nagasaku) answer’s the phone. A woman’s voice on the other end states “I want my kid back.” Meanwhile, below are 4 new still images for the movie.

Main trailer and poster added for coming-of-age film “My Name is Yours” starring Honoka Matsumoto, Seina Nakata, and Yuki Katayama. The film is based on two novels (“En” & “Blue Hearts wo Kiita Yoru, Kimi to Kiss Shite Sayonara”) by director Momoko Fukuda and also directed by her. Momoko Fukuda previously directed 2019 movie “My Father, the Bride.” Caption on the poster states in Japanese “Hope and despair, 3 seconds before explosion.”

“My Name is Yours” is now set for release July 31, 2020 in Japan.

Takanori Iwata & Mackenyu Arata cast in movie “End roll of the world Nameless”

Takanori Iwata (“J Soul Brothers”/”EXILE”) and Mackenyu Arata are cast in movie “End roll of the world Nameless” (literal title). The film is based on 2013 novel “Na mo Naki Sekai no End Roll” by Kaoru Yukinari and directed by Yuichi Sato. Filming for the movie took place from July, 2019 to August, 2019.

“End roll of the world Nameless” will be released sometime next year in Japan.
