Ji Soo cast in drama “The Moon Rising River”

Ji Soo is cast for the lead male role drama series “The Moon Rising River” (literal title) co-starring Kim So-Hyun. Also announced to play major supporting characters are Lee Ji-Hoon & Choi Yu-Hwa. Actor Kang Ha-Neul was previously announced to make a special appearance as the lead male character’s father. The drama series is based on Korean folk tale “On Dal.” For the drama series, Ji Soo will play the title character from the folktale On Dal. His character is an innocent and nonviolent person. He falls in love with Princess Pyong Gang (Kim So-Hyun). Meanwhile, Lee Ji-Hoon will play Go Gun. His character is the general of Goguryeo and he also falls in love with Pyong Gang. Lastly, Choi Yu-Hwa will play Hae Mo-Yong. Her character is a mysterious woman with a beautiful appearance and a special power to foresee the future. She carries a secret and also holds feelings for Go Gun.

“The Moon Rising River” will first air sometime next year in South Korea.

First script reading for JTBC drama “Hush”

First script reading for JTBC drama series “Hush,” starring Hwang Jung-Min & Yoona, took place September, 2020 in South Korea. Attending the first script reading were director Choi Kyoo-Sik, screenwriter Kim Jung-Min,  Hwang Jung-Min, Yoona, Son Byung-HoKim Won-HaePark Ho-San, Lee Seung-Joon, Yoo-Sun , Kim Jae-Chul, Kyung Soo-Jin and Jung Joon-Won. Before script reading started, director Choi Kyoo-Sik stated “I am honored to work with such a good script and cast members. This drama series has a serious message. I want to make a drama series which is warm, humane, and fun.”

“Hush” first airs December 11, 2020 in South Korea (takes over JTBC’s Friday & Saturday 10:50 PM time slot after “More Than Friends“).

Kei Tanaka & Miki Nakatani cast in movie “First Gentleman”

Kei Tanaka and Miki Nakatani are cast in movie “First Gentleman.” The film is based on 2013 novel “Sori no Otto First Gentleman” by Maha Harada (“Runway Beat“) and directed by Hayato Kawai (“Let’s Go, Jets!“). The script will have Kei Tanaka playing married bird watcher Hiyori Soma. When he comes back from a ten day bird watching trip, he learns that his wife Rinko Soma (Miki Nakatani) is now the prime minster of Japan.

“First Gentleman” will be released autumn, 2021 in Japan.

First script reading for JTBC drama “Run On”

First script reading for JTBC drama series “Run On,” starring Im Si-Wan & Shin Se-Kyung, took place July, 2020 at JTBC Building in Sangam, Seoul, South Korea. Also attending the first script reading were Director Lee Jae-Hoon, screenwriter Park Min-Sook, Sooyoung, Kang Tae-Oh, Park Young-Gyu, Cha Hwa-Yeon, Lee Bong-Ryun, Ryu Abel, Yeon Je-Wook, Lee Jeong-Ha, Choi Jae-Hyun, Kim Dong-Young, and Kim Si-Eun. Director Lee Jae-Hoon stated during the first script reading “I will film all the actors and actresses sincerely and listen sincerely. I will do my best to make the actors, actresses, and staff think that we worked joyfully and with good people until the filming ended.”

“Run On” first airs December, 2020 in South Korea (takes over JTBC’s Wednesday and Thursday 9:30 PM time slot after “Private Lives.”).

Serena Motola cast in TV Tokyo drama “Tokyo Design Story”

Serena Motola is cast for the lead role in TV Tokyo drama series “Tokyo Design Story” (“Tokyo Design ga Umareru Hi”). Also cast in the drama series are Megumi, Junpei Goto, Momo, Marika Ito, Iku Arai, and Yuya Nara. The drama series is scripted by Masashi Shimizu (“Otokomeshi“) and directed by Tetsuya Chihara. The drama series will follow Serena Motola as rookie designer Mutsumi Ono. She works for design company Lemon Design.

“Tokyo Design Story” will first air December 2, 2020 in Japan.

Main trailer for movie “Angry Rice Wives”

Main trailer added for movie “Angry Rice Wives” starring Mao Inoue. Movie is set in the year 1918 during the “Rice Riots,” which was a serious of real life incidents that took place in Japan during that time. Meanwhile, the movie’s theme song has been announced which is “Ai o Komete” by pop rock band Kome Kome Club. The theme song also appears in the main trailer.

“Angry Rice Wives” will be released January 8, 2021 in Japan.

Two teaser posters & release date for movie “Seobok”

Two teaser posters and release date added for movie “Seobok” (working title) starring Gong Yoo & Park Bo-Gum. One teaser poster features Gong Yoo as ex-agent Ki Hun and the other poster features Park Bo-Gum as Seo Bok. His character is the first human clone. Captions on Gong Yoo’s poster states “Live Now” and “Last Misson of Life” and Park Bo-Gum’s poster states “Live Forever” and “Immortal Being.” Movie is written and directed by Lee Yong-Joo (“Architecture 101“).

“Seobok” will be released December, 2020 in South Korea.

Sakurako Konishi and Oshiro Maeda are cast in TV Tokyo-Paravi drama series “Cat.” The romance themed drama series is scripted by Junichi Kanai and directed by Junichi Kanai & Hana Matsumoto. The screenplay was inspired by the song “Neko” by pop-rock band DISH//. The drama series’ theme song will also be “Neko: The First Take Ver” by DISH//.

“Cat” will first stream on Paravi on November 6, 2020 and air on TV Tokyo on November 13, 2020.

Movie “Call” to be released via Netflix

Movie “Call,” starring Park Shin-Hye & Jun Jong-Seo, will be released via Netflix on November 27, 2020 worldwide and will skip a theatrical release in South Korea. The film was originally scheduled for release earlier this year, but was postponed due to the Covid-19 outbreak. “Call” revolves around two women from different eras who are able to speak to each through a phone.
