Teaser poster and summer release date set for movie “Hostage: Missing Celebrity” starring Hwang Jung-Min. The crime-thriller film has Hwang Jung-Min playing a top celebrity actor, who suddenly gets kidnapped. Filming for “Hostage: Missing Celebrity” took place from May 15 to August 13, 2019. Almost two years later, “Hostage: Missing Celebrity” will be release sometime this summer in South Korea.

Ahn Hyo-Seop is cast for the lead male role in SBS drama series “The Office Blind Date” (literal title). The drama series is based on web novel “Sanae Matsun” by Hae Hwa. Singer-actress Kim Se-Jeong from idol group Gugudan has received an offer to play the lead female role and she is still deciding on the offer. In the drama series, Ahn Hyo-Seop will play CEO Kang Tae-Mu. He decides to marry the next woman he meets on a blind date, setup by his chairman grandfather, so that he can focus on work.
Filming for “The Office Blind Date” will begin in the second half of this year and the drama series will air sometime in the first half of 2022 in South Korea.

Movie “Mogadishu,” starring Kim Yun-Seok & Zo In-Sung, picks up a tentative July, 2021 release date in South Korea. The film is directed by Ryoo Seung-Wan (“The Unjust“) and is inspired by a real life incident that took place in Mogadishu, Somalia around January, 1991. The film was originally scheduled for release summer, 2020, but the Covid-19 outbreak caused the delay in the movie’s release.

The trailer and poster shows the Daimajin, which is a Demon God and he saves people. The movie itself features the impending doom of the world and a great war taking place among the yokai. Standing in the middle of all this is Kei Watanabe (Kokoro Terada).

Mitsuki Takahata is cast for the lead role in WOWOW drama series “Stranger” (literal title). The drama series is based on 2015 novel “Iribito” by Maha Harada (“Runway Beat“) and directed by Kentaro Hagiwara (“Tokyo Ghoul“). Mitsuki Takahata will play Naho Takamura in the drama series. She travels to Kyoto from Tokyo for her pregnancy and becomes fascinated by a painting by an unknown painter.
“Stranger” will consist of 5 episodes and air sometime this winter in Japan.
