Tatsuya Fujiwara & Kenichi Matsuyama cast in movie “Noise”

Tatsuya Fujiwara & Kenichi Matsuyama are cast in live-action film “Noise.” The film is based manga series “Noise” by Tetsuya Tsutsui (“Prophecy“) and directed by Ryuichi Hiroki. Tatsuya Fujiwara & Kenichi Matsuyama famously starred together in live-actioin film “Death Note.” This time around, they will play residents on a remote island. They end up killing a murderer and trying to cover up his death.

“Noise” will be released sometime next year in Japan.

Yuya Endo & Kanji Tsuda cast in movie “Onoda”


Yuya Endo
 and Kanji Tsuda are cast in movie “Onoda.” The film is based on the life of Hiroo Onoda. He was a soldier during World War II and stationed on a small island in the Philippines. When the war ended, he went up into the mountains and held out for 29 more years. For the movie, Yuya Endo will play the younger days of Hiroo Onoda and Kanji Tsuda will play middle-age Hiroo Onoda. The cast will be all Japanese, but companies from France, Germany, Belgium, Italy, and Japan are working together to produce the film.

“Onoda” will be released sometime this autumn in Japan.

Lee Hyun-Woo cast in Netflix drama “The House of Paper”

Lee Hyun-Woo is cast for Netflix drama series “The House of Paper” (literal title). He will play the character of Rio, who is the youngest member of a robbery gang. The gang is recruited by the Professor (Yoo Ji-Tae).  Originally, Park Jung-Woo was cast to play Rio, but sometime after March 31, 2021 (when they first announced the original cast members) he dropped out of the drama series for unspecified reasons. The drama series is a remake of Spanish series “La casa de Papel” (“Money Heist”).

“The House of Paper” will be available to stream on Netflix, but exact dates has not yet been revealed.

Yuta Furukawa cast in TV Tokyo drama “Women’s War: Bachelor Murder Case

Yuta Furukawa is cast for the lead role in TV Tokyo drama series “Women’s War: Bachelor Murder Case” (literal title). Also cast in the drama series are Wakana AoiReina TriendlRio TeramotoIchika OsakiRie KitaharaRiko Narumi, and Sei Matobu. The original screenplay is written by Junpei Yamaoka (“School Police“).

“Women’s War: Bachelor Murder Case” first airs July, 2021 in Japan (takes over TV Tokyo’s Saturday 23:25 time slot after “Curse of Spring“).

Manami Higa & Keisuke Watanabe cast in Fuji TV drama “Oshi no Oujisama”

Manami Higa and Keisuke Watanabe are cast in Fuji TV drama series “Oshi no Oujisama.” The drama series will have Manami Higa play game developer Izumi Hidaka. She is obsessed over a male game character she made 4 years earlier. Keisuke Watanabe will play Wataru Igarashi. He has the exact physical appearance of the game character created by Izumi Hidaka, but completely different personality. They meet unexpectedly one day.

“Oshi no Oujisama” will first air July, 2021 in Japan (takes over Fuji TV’s Thursday 10PM time slot after “The Romance Manga Artist“).

Teaser trailer #3 added for JTBC drama series “Nevertheless” starring Song Kang & Han So-Hee. The drama series is based on  webcomic “Algoitjiman” by Jung Seo. Captions on teaser trailer #3 states (0:14) “Nevertheless, I believed it was fate!,” and (0:26) “Love relationship is no. Homme fatale who only wants a spring fling.” Meanwhile, below are the first still images of Han So-Hee and Song Kang in the drama series.

“Nevertheless” first airs June 19, 2021 in South Korea.
