Yuta Tamamori & Anne Nakamura cast in TV Asahi drama “Nice Flight”

Yuta Tamamori (Kis-My-Ft2) and Anne Nakamura are cast in TV Asahi drama series “Nice Flight.” The drama series features an original screenplay by Rin Eto (“Nodame Cantabile“). For the drama series, Yuta Tamamori will play Sui Kurata. He is the co-pilot for a commercial airline and falls in love with an air traffic controller just from listening to her voice. That air traffic controller is played by Anne Nakamura. The drama series will be set around Haneda Airport and involve the cooperation of Japan Airlines. The theme song for the drama series will also be performed by boy band Kis-My-Ft2.

“Nice Flight” will first air July, 2022 in Japan (takes over TV Asahi’s Friday 11:15 PM time slot after “Mr. Housekeeper, Mitazono Season 5“).

Teaser trailer for movie “Goodbye Cruel World”

Teaser trailer added for movie “Goodbye Cruel World” starring Hidetoshi Nishijima & Takumi Saito. The film is directed by Tatsushi Omori (“Tada’s Do-It-All House“) and scripted by Ryo Takada (“Over the Fence“). The teaser trailer also features classic American r&b track “Let’s Stay Together” covered by Margie Joseph. Caption in the teaser asks around the 22 second mark “Who’s the traitor?” The film revolves around 5 people, whose real identities are unknown to each other, gather for a one time robbery. Their target is the yakuza.

“Goodbye Cruel World” will be released sometime this autumn in Japan.

Elaiza Ikeda cast in WOWOW drama “Doronjo”

Elaiza Ikeda is cast in WOWOW drama series “Doronjo.” Elaiza Ikeda will play title character Doronjo. The drama series takes the Doronjo chracter from TV animation series “Time Bokan Series Yatterman” and tells a new story about her past. She lives in a dangerous environment and relies on fighting to prove herself.

“Doronjo” will air sometime this autumn in Japan.

Mei Nagano cast in TBS drama”Riding a Unicorn”

Mei Nagano is cast in TBS drama series “Riding a Unicorn.” The drama series is scripted by Haruka Okita (“Radiation House“). For “Riding a Unicorn,” Mei Nagano will play Sana Narukawa. She founded a company that was once a hot startup company. The company’s growth has slowed down, which causes concern for her.

“Riding a Unicorn” will first air July, 2022 in Japan (takes over TBS’ Tuesday 10PM time slot after “Is Love Sustainable?“).

Kentaro Sakaguchi & Anne Watanabe cast in Fuji TV drama “Guardian of the Market”

Kentaro Sakaguchi and Anne Watanabe are cast in Fuji TV drama series “Guardian of the Market” (literal title). The drama series is based on novel “Kyoso no Bannin” by Hotate Shinkawa. Hotate Shinkawa had her 2021 debut novel “Motokare no Yuigon” adapted into the currently airing Fuji TV drama series “My Ex-Boyfriend’s Last Will” starring Haruka Ayase and Yo Oizumi. For drama series “Guardian of the Market,” Kentaro Sakaguchi and Anne Watanabe will play partners on a team for the Fair Trade Commission.

“Guardian of the Market” will first air July, 2022 in Japan (takes over Fuji TV’s Monday 9PM time slot after “My Ex-Boyfriend’s Last Will”).

Ryusei Onishi & Hiyori Sakurada cast in TV Asahi drama “Kanojo, Okarishimasu”

Ryusei Onishi and Hiyori Sakurada are cast in TV Asahi live-action drama series “Kanojo, Okarishimasu.” The drama series is based on manga series “Kanojo, Okarishimasu” by Reiji Miyajima. For “Kanojo, Okarishimasu.” Ryusei Onishi will play university student Kazuya Kinoshita. He gets dumped by his first girlfriend and turns to a rental girlfriend service to cheer himself up. Hiyori Sakurada will play Chizuru Mizuhara. She is a beautiful woman that works for the rental girlfriend service.

Yuki Yoda from Nogizaka46 is cast for the lead role in TV Tokto drama series “Ryosangata Riko.” The drama series features an original screenplay about a young woman who becomes interested in making plastic models. Yuki Yoda will play main character Riko Komukai. She grows into an adult with her new found hobby.

“Ryosangata Riko” first airs June 30, 2022 in Japan.

Daiki Shigeoka and Noriko Iriyama are cast in TV Tokyo live-action drama series “Yukionna to Kani wo Kuu.” Also cast for supporting roles are Masanobu Katsumura, Sayu Kubota, and Yasushi Fuchikami. The drama series is based on manga series “Yukionna to Kani wo Kuu” by Gino0808. For “Yukionna to Kani wo Kuu,” Daiki Shigeoka will play a man named Kita. After being ruined by a false sexual harassment claim, he decides to travel to Hokkaido to eat crabs and then take his own life.

“Yukionna to Kani wo Kuu” will first air July 8, 2022 in South Korea.

Kasumi Arimura & Tomoya Nakamura cast in TBS drama “Ishiko and Haneo”

Kasumi Arimura & Tomoya Nakamura are cast in TBS drama series “Ishiko and Haneo” (literal title). The drama series features an original screenplay by Masafumi Nishida (“Humanoid Monster, Bem“). The drama series will have Kasumi Arimura play Paralegal Shoko Ishida. She graduated from prestigious Tokyo University, but was unable to pass her bar exam. Tomoya Nakamura will play Yoshio Haneoka. He graduated only from high school, but became a lawyer thanks to his especially keen memory. They begin to work together at a law office.

“Ishiko and Haneo” first airs July, 2022 (takes over TBS’ Friday 10PM time slot after “Invisible“).

Tsubasa Honda cast in TBS drama series “Kimi no Hana ni Naru”

Tsubasa Honda is cast for the lead role in TBS drama series “Kimi no Hana ni Naru.” The drama series features an original screenplay by Erika Yoshida (“Heaven?: My Restaurant, My Life“) and will be directed by Toshio Tsuboi (“Nagi’s Long Vacation“). For the drama series, Tsubasa Honda will play Asuka Nakamachi. She is a former high school teacher, but she lost her job and suddenly begins work at a dormitory for an unpopular 7 member boy band. The leader of the boy band is her former student. Auditions were held to cast the members of the boy band and their identities will be revealed on May 4, 2022. The boy band will also make a real debut and perform together for a limited time.

“Kimi no Hana ni Naru” will first air October, 2022 in Japan.
