Yuto Nakajima & Ai Yoshikawa cast in Fuji TV “Junai Dissonance”

Yuto Nakajima and Ai Yoshikawa are cast in Fuji TV drama series “Junai Dissonance.” The drama series features an original screenplay scripted by Shinya TamadaRieko Obayashi, & Yasuko Kuramitsu. The drama series will follow the relationship of Nitta Masaki (Yuto Nakajima) & Sae Izumi (Ai Yoshikawa), from when they are high school teacher and student to 5 years later when they meet again.

“Junai Dissonance” first airs July, 2022 in Japan (takes over Fuji TV’s Thursday 10 PM time slot after “Involvement in Family Affairs“).

Mayu Hotta cast in WOWOW drama “Occult no Mori e Yokoso”

Mayu Hotta is cast for the lead role in WOWOW drama series “Occult no Mori e Yokoso.” The drama series is directed by Koji Shiraishi (“A Record of Sweet Murder“) and he will also play a horror film director in the drama series. In the drama series, Mayu Hotta will play assistant film director Miho Ichikawa. She goes to a home on a mountain to film a documentary.

“Occult no Mori e Yokoso” will consist of 6 episodes and first air July 22, 2022 in Japan.

Ryoma Takeuchi is cast in TV Asahi drama “Roppongi Class”

Ryoma Takeuchi is cast in TV Asahi drama series “Roppongi Class.” The drama series is based on webcomic “Itaewon Class” by Jo Gwang-Jin, which was previously adapted into 2020 JTBC drama series “Itaewon Class” starring Park Seo-Joon & Kim Da-Mi. The TV Asahi version will be a joint collaboration with South Korean production company SLL (which produced JTBC’s “Itaewon Class”), Kakao Entertainment, and Kross Pictures. The backdrop of the drama series will be Roponggi, Tokyo and like Itaewon, Seoul is an area of the capital city known for its multi-cultural influence and bustling nightlife.

“Roppongi Class” will first air July, 2022 in Japan.

Atsuko Maeda cast in WOWOW drama “Utsubora: The Story of a Novelist”

Atsuko Maeda is cast in WOWOW live-action drama series “Utsubora: The Story of a Novelist.” The drama series will have Atsuko Maedae play twin sisters Aki and Sakura. Aki dies mysteriously at the beginning of the story and a mysterious connection between them and famous writer Mizorogi exists. The screenplay is based on manga series “Utsubora” by Asumiko Nakamura.

“Utsubora: The Story of a Novelist” will first air sometime later this year in Japan.

Go Ayano cast in TBS drama “Old Rookie”

Go Ayano is cast in TBS drama series “Old Rookie.” The drama series is scripted by Yasushi Fukuda (“DOCTORS: The Ultimate Surgeon“) and directed by Yasuharu Ishii (“Oh My Boss! Love Not Included“). The drama series will have Go Ayano playing 37 year old soccer player Ryotaro Shinmachi. He faces retirement and must find work as a regular employee.

“Old Rookie” first airs July, 2022 in Japan (takes over TBS’ Sunday 9PM time slot after the conclusion of “My Family“).

Sae Okazaki is cast in TV Tokyo live-action drama series “Hanayome Miman Escape.” The drama series is based on manga series “Hanayome Miman Escape” by Maruni Ogawa. The drama series will have Sae Okazaki play Yu Kashiwazaki. She finds herself in a love triangle with her current boyfriend, who treats her more like his mother, and her ex-boyfriend, who treats like she is special.
