Trailer and poster added for live-action film “Stella Next to Me” starring Riko Fukumoto and Yusei Yagi. Movie is based on manga series “Tonari no Stella” by Ammitsu and directed by Hana Matsumoto (“The End of the Pale Hour“). Caption on the poster states “A childhood friend, I have a crush on is a popular celebrity.” She also states in the trailer that she wishes she could hate him.

“Stella Next to Me” is now set for release August 22, 2025 in Japan.

Hiyori Sakurada and Taisei Kido are cast in live-action film “A Side Character’s Love Story.” Movie is based on manga series “Mobuko no Koi” by Akane Tamura and directed by Hiroki Kazama (“Cheer Boys!!“). Story for the movie, will tell a love story between a somewhat timid young woman and a young man who works part-time at the same supermarket and they attend the same university.

“A Side Character’s Love Story” will be released summer, 2026 in Japan.

Main cast announced for movie “First Ride.”

Kang Ha-Neul, Kim Young-Kwang, Cha Eun-Woo, Kang Young-Seok, and Han Sun-Hwa are cast in movie “First Ride.” The film is a comedy and reunites director Nam Dae-Joong and actor Kang Ha-Neul who previously worked together in 2023 movie “Love Reset.” Movie “First Ride” is setup as a comedy, with each of the five leads playing friends who decide to go on an international trip together. Cha Eun-Woo will perform in his first comedy film as well, as he plays an aspiring DJ.

Filming for “First Ride” began March 21, 2025.

Miho Kanno and Eiji Akaso cast in movie “Kinki Chiho no Aru Basho ni Tsuite”

Miho Kanno and Eiji Akaso are cast in movie “Kinki Chiho no Aru Basho ni Tsuite.” Movie is based on 2023 novel “Kinki Chiho no Aru Basho ni Tsuite” by Sesuji  and directed by Koji Shiraishi (“Hell Girl“). Story for the mystery-horror film revolves around the disappearance of an occult magazine editor. Miho Kanno will play occult writer Chihiro Seno and Eiji Akaso will play Editor Yusei Ozawa. They team up to look into the editor’s disappearance and a common link they keep coming up with is the area around Kinki. Meanwhile, the first trailer for the movie has been added on AsianWiki and the trailer starts with Miho Kanno look into the camera and stating “I’m looking for my missing friend.”

“Kinki Chiho no Aru Basho ni Tsuite” will be released August 8, 2025 in Japan.

Issey Takahashi cast in WOWOW drama “1972 Nagisa no Keika”

Issey Takahashi is cast in WOWOW drama series “1972 Nagisa no Keika.” Drama series is based on 2022 novel “Nagisa no Keika” by Izumi Sakagami and directed by Hideyuki Hirayama (“Everest: The Summit of the Gods“). The story for the drama series is set in the year 1972 in Okinawa, right before rule of the area is returned to Japan from a special U.S. civil administration. At that time, a car carrying one million U.S. dollars is attacked and disappears. Issey Takahashi will play Taichi Maeda. He leads a special investigation team that must solve the case in 18 days, before rule of the area is returned to Japan.

“1972 Nagisa no Keika” will air sometime this fall in Japan.

Here’s the first two teaser posters for tvN drama series “Second Shot at Love” starring Sooyoung and Gong Myung. Caption on the poster with Sooyoung and Gong Myung above a glass of beer states “I wish you would stop drinking” and caption on the poster with Gong Myung featured prominently states “Have you ever thought that you should stop drinking?” The drama series revolves around Han Geum-Joo (Sooyoung), who loves to drink alcohol, and she reunites with her first love Seo Ui-Joon (Gong Myung), who works in the medical field and hates alcohol.

New teaser trailer added for SBS drama series “The Haunted Palace” starring Yook Sung-Jae, Bona, and Kim Ji-Hoon. The teaser trailer which is titled as Film ID, begins with Bona stating “I miss him so much. His face and body is right here, but that is not him.” Around the 20 second mark, Yook Sung-Jae states “This is the first time I’ve possessed a human’s body.” Yook Sung-Jae plays Yoon Gab. He works in the palace, but becomes possessed by an imoogi creature.

“The Haunted Palace” will first air April 18, 2025  in South Korea (takes over SBS’ Friday & Saturday 10PM time slot after “Buried Hearts“).

First teaser trailer and teaser poster added for Netflix drama series “Weak Hero Class 2” starring Park Ji-Hoon, Ryeo Un, & Choi Min-Young. Drama series is a sequel to 2022 Wavve drama series “Weak Hero Class 1.” In “Weak Hero Class 2,” main character Yeon Si-Eun (Park Ji-Hoon) transfers to a new school Eunjang High School, while dealing with trauma from his old school. He finds himself facing even greater violence at his new school. Caption on the teaser poster states “I have to fight to protect it.”
