Miho Kanno and Eiji Akaso cast in movie “Kinki Chiho no Aru Basho ni Tsuite”

Miho Kanno and Eiji Akaso are cast in movie “Kinki Chiho no Aru Basho ni Tsuite.” Movie is based on 2023 novel “Kinki Chiho no Aru Basho ni Tsuite” by Sesuji  and directed by Koji Shiraishi (“Hell Girl“). Story for the mystery-horror film revolves around the disappearance of an occult magazine editor. Miho Kanno will play occult writer Chihiro Seno and Eiji Akaso will play Editor Yusei Ozawa. They team up to look into the editor’s disappearance and a common link they keep coming up with is the area around Kinki. Meanwhile, the first trailer for the movie has been added on AsianWiki and the trailer starts with Miho Kanno look into the camera and stating “I’m looking for my missing friend.”

“Kinki Chiho no Aru Basho ni Tsuite” will be released August 8, 2025 in Japan.

Issey Takahashi cast in WOWOW drama “1972 Nagisa no Keika”

Issey Takahashi is cast in WOWOW drama series “1972 Nagisa no Keika.” Drama series is based on 2022 novel “Nagisa no Keika” by Izumi Sakagami and directed by Hideyuki Hirayama (“Everest: The Summit of the Gods“). The story for the drama series is set in the year 1972 in Okinawa, right before rule of the area is returned to Japan from a special U.S. civil administration. At that time, a car carrying one million U.S. dollars is attacked and disappears. Issey Takahashi will play Taichi Maeda. He leads a special investigation team that must solve the case in 18 days, before rule of the area is returned to Japan.

“1972 Nagisa no Keika” will air sometime this fall in Japan.

Here’s the first two teaser posters for tvN drama series “Second Shot at Love” starring Sooyoung and Gong Myung. Trailer and poster added for teen-romance film “I Have a Secret” starring Daiken Okudaira, Natsuki Deguchi, Masaya Sano, Hinako Kikuchi & Ikoi Hayase. Movie is based on 2017 novel “Kakushigoto” by Yoru Sumino (“Let Me Eat Your Pancreas“). Story for “I Have a Secret” revolve around five high school students and seeing the feelings of someone they love. The movie’s theme song has also been announced as “I Hate This Love Song” by Chanmina.

New teaser trailer added for SBS drama series “The Haunted Palace” starring Yook Sung-Jae, Bona, and Kim Ji-Hoon. The teaser trailer which is titled as Film ID, begins with Bona stating “I miss him so much. His face and body is right here, but that is not him.” Around the 20 second mark, Yook Sung-Jae states “This is the first time I’ve possessed a human’s body.” Yook Sung-Jae plays Yoon Gab. He works in the palace, but becomes possessed by an imoogi creature.

“The Haunted Palace” will first air April 18, 2025  in South Korea (takes over SBS’ Friday & Saturday 10PM time slot after “Buried Hearts“).

Teaser trailer and character posters added for disaster-comedy film “Virus” starring Bae Doo-Na, Kim Yun-Seok, Jang Ki-Ha, & Son Suk-Ku. Movie is based on 2010 novel “Cheongchungeukhanki” by Lee Ji-Min and directed by Kang Yi-Kwan (“Juvenile Offender“). The film revolves around a woman, played by Bae Doo-Na, who learns she is infected with a fatal virus that causes her to fall in love and be happy for no reasons. Caption on the four character posters states “The moment I get infect, I fall in love.” Movie began filming on July 30, 2019 and finished October 22, 2020.

“Virus” is now set for release May 7, 2025 in South Korea.

Jeon Yeo-Bin & Jin Young cast in ENA drama “Good Woman Bu Se-Mi”

Jeon Yeo-Bin & Jin Young are cast in ENA drama series “Good Woman Bu Se-Mi” (literal title). Drama series is scripted by Hyun Gyu-Ri (“The Night Owl“) and directed by Park Yoo-Young (“The Kidnapping Day“). Also cast in major supporting character roles are Seo Hyun-Woo, Jang Yoon-Ju, & Joo Hyun-Young. In “Good Woman Bu Se-Mi,” Jeon Yeo-Bin’s character Kim Young-Ran, who works as a bodyguard for a chairman of a conglomerate, gets an opportunity for a life reset if she is able to survive for 3 months under the fictional identity of Bu Se-Mi. She relocates to a village and works as a kindergarten teacher. Jin Young will play Jeon Dong-Min. He is a single father and strawberry farmer in the village, but becomes suspicious of the perfect like persona of Bu Se-Mi. Seo Hyun-Woo will play Lee Don. He is the lawyer for the conglomerate chairman. Jang Yoon-Ju will play Ga Sun-Young. She is the stepdaughter of the chairman. Lastly, Joo Hyun-Young will play Baek Hye-Ji. She works for the chairman’s family and is a roommate of Kim Young-Ran within an annex of their mansion.

“Good Woman Bu Se-Mi” will first air sometime in the second half of this year.
