Kazunari Ninomiya is cast in movie “Exit 8.” Movie is based on video game “8ban Deguchi” and directed by producer-screenwriter-director Genki Kawamura. The film has the unusual premise of a man lost within in an underground passageway that seems loop infinitely and also exhibiting strange behavior. The man must find Exit 8, to get out. Main trailer and poster added for movie “Seishun Gestalt Houkai” starring Arata Sato and Miho Watanabe. The movie is based on 2021 novel “Seishun Gestalt Houkai” by Tomato Marui. The film revolves around a teenager played by Miho Watanabe, who develops the fictional disease adolescent face loss syndrome. Caption on the poster states “You changed me, who was about to break.” Meanwhile, the movie’s theme song has been announced as “Aozora” by music group Marcy. Theme song “Aozora” is also played during the main trailer.

Son Ye-Jin, Ji Chang-Wook, and Nana cast in Netflix drama “Scandals”

Son Ye-Jin, Ji Chang-Wook, and Nana are cast in Netflix drama series “Scandals” (working title). Drama series is a remake of 2003 movie “Untold Scandal,” starring Bae Yong-Joon, Lee Mi-Suk, and Jeon Do-Yeon, which is based on 18th century French novel “Les Liaisons dangereuses” by Choderlos de Laclo. The Netflix drama series version will be directed by Jung Ji-Woo (“Somebody“). In “Scandals,” Son Ye-Jin will play Madam Jo. She proposes a temptation game with playboy Jo Won (Ji Chang-Wook). Nana will play Hee-Yeon, who becomes a target of Jo Won in the temptation game.

“Scandals” will be available to stream sometime next year on Netflix.

Trailer and poster for movie “Strangers in Kyoto”

Trailer and poster added for movie “Strangers in Kyoto” starring Mai Fukagawa. The movie, directed by Masanori Tominaga (“Dynamite Graffiti“) and scripted by Atsushi Asada (“Penguin Fufu“), follows Madoka Shibusawa (Mai Fukagawa) as she tries to write a manga about the lives of people, including her in-laws, in Kyoto. As she is from Tokyo, some cultural differences between the cities causes some people to become angry at Madoka Shibusawa.

Main cast announced for KBS2 drama series “Queen’s House”

Ham Eun-Jung, Seo Jun-Young, Park Yoon-Jae, & Lee Ga-Ryeong are cast in KBS2 drama series “Queen’s House” (literal title). Drama series will slot into KBS2’s Monday through Friday 7:50 PM time slot after “Cinderella Game” finishes. Ham Eun-Jung will play Kang Jae-In, who is married to Hwang Ki-Chan (Park Yoon-Jae). An incident causes her envious life to change. Seo Jun-Young will play Kim Do-Yoon. After someone close to him suddenly dies in an accident, he vows to take revenge.

“Queen’s House” will first air April, 2025 in South Korea.

Teaser trailer and poster added for movie “Black Showman” starring Masaharu Fukuyama and Kasumi Arimura. The mystery film is based on 2020 novel “Black Showman and the Murder in an Obscure Town” by Keigo Higashino and directed by Akira Tanaka (“The Confidence Man JP“). After the murder of Eiichi Kamio, his brother Takeshi Kamio (Masaharu Fukuyama) and his daughter Mayo Kamio (Kasumi Arimura) team up to solve the murder case. The teaser trailer begins with Masaharu Fukuyama standing in front of a black background and shouting “It’s Show Time!!”

Uhm Jung-Hwa & Song Seung-Heon cast in ENA drama “My Golden Star”

Uhm Jung-Hwa and Song Seung-Heon are cast for lead roles in ENA drama series “My Golden Star” (literal title). Lee El and Oh Dae-Hwan are also cast for major supporting character roles. The drama series will have Uhm Jung-Hwa play a middle aged woman named Bong Cheong-Ja and claims to be popular star Im Se-Ra who disappeared 25 years ago. She seems to have lost all of her memories from the past 25 years. Song Seung-Heon will play Doggo Cheol. He is a traffic cop and was demoted to his current position from a detective in the violent crimes department. Meanwhile, Lee El will play popular star Go Hee-Young and Oh Dae-Hwan will play entertainment company CEO Kang Du-Won.

“My Golden Star” will air sometime in the second half of this year.

First teaser trailer added for drama series “The Haunted Palace” starring Yook Sung-Jae, Bona, and Kim Ji-Hoon. The first teaser trailer begins with a mythical Imoogi creature slithering in the night sky and an anonymous voice stating “Gang-Cheol was a dragon who had completed a thousand years of training and was about to ascend to heaven, but he was a very unlucky dragon.” The creature somehow takes over the body of Yoon Gab played by Yook Sung-Jae.
