Hiyori Sakurada and Taisei Kido are cast in live-action film “A Side Character’s Love Story.” Movie is based on manga series “Mobuko no Koi” by Akane Tamura and directed by Hiroki Kazama (“Cheer Boys!!“). Story for the movie, will tell a love story between a somewhat timid young woman and a young man who works part-time at the same supermarket and they attend the same university.
“A Side Character’s Love Story” will be released summer, 2026 in Japan.
Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: Nobuko Tanaka (Hiyori Sakurada) is a university student with a shy and reserved personality. She is kind of a ‘mobuko,’ who has spent her whole life as a supporting character. She works part-time at a supermarket. There, Nobuko Tanaka meets part-time worker Hiroki Irie (Taisei Kido), who also attends the same university. Nobuko Tanaka falls in love with him. Even though she is poor at taking proactive action, she gathers her courage bit by bit and tries to close the distance between them.
