See list of winners and nominees at the 2021 BaekSang Arts Awards, that just concluded in Seoul, South Korea. On the feature film side, Director Lee Joon-Ik won the Grand Prize for “The Book of Fish” and “Samjin Company English Class” won the Best Film award. On the drama series side, JTBC drama series “Beyond Evil” was the bigger winner with awards for “Best Drama,” “Best Screenplay,” and “Best Actor” (Shin Ha-Kyun).

Movie “Midnight,” starring Jin Ki-Joo & Wi Ha-Joon, is now scheduled for release late June, 2021 or early July, 2021 in South Korean theaters and via online video platform TVING. The film was originally scheduled for release in the first half of 2020, but the coronavirus outbreak caused its release to be delayed. Movie “Midnight” features a thriller script, with Wi Ha-Joon playing a serial killer.

His lifelong dream is to have a train station built in his small village town. He even writes letters to the South Korean President to have a station built there. Main cast announced for ensemble film “Happy New Year” directed by Kwak Jae-Young (“My Sassy Girl“). The impressive lineup of performers that will play employees and guests at a hotel during New Year’s are Han Ji-Min, Lee Dong-Wook, Kang Ha-Neul, Yoona, Won Jin-A, Seo Kang-Joon, Lee Kwang-Soo, Kim Young-Kwang, Ko Sung-Hee, Lee Jin-Wook, Lee Kyu-Hyung, Jo Joon-Young, Won Ji-An, Lee Hye-Young & Jung Jin-Young.
Filming for “Happy New Year” began April 19, 2021. The movie is planned for release in South Korean theaters and via online streaming platform Tving, but release date has not yet been decided. Movie is distributed CJ Entertainment, who are partial owners in Tving.
