Trailer and poster for movie “Ano Ko wa Dare”

Trailer and poster added for horror film “Ano Ko wa Dare” starring Nagisa Shibuya, Ikoi Hayase, & Soma Santoki. The film, directed by Takashi Shimizu (“Ju-on“), is set at a summer school classroom where a girl that shouldn’t be there causes problems. The trailer begins with captions that states “There is a student in this classroom who shouldn’t be here.” Caption on the poster also states same thing.

Trailer for movie “Great Absence”

Trailer added for movie “Great Absence” starring Mirai Moriyama and Tatsuya Fuji. Movie is written and directed by Kei Chika-ura and held its world premiere last September at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival. The film follows the relationship between a father and son who have not seen each other in 20 years. The main trailer begins with the voice from an emergency operator asking “Is it a crime? Is it an accident?” Tatsuya Fuji as Yohji replies “It’s a crime.”

“Great Absence” will be released July 12, 2024 in Japan.

Starring cast and first teaser trailer for movie “Hero’s Island”

Satoshi Tsumabuki, Suzu Hirose, Masataka Kubota, & Eita Nagayama are cast in movie “Hero’s Island.” Movie is based on 2018 novel “Takarajima” by Junjo Shindo and directed by Keishi Ohtomo (“Rurouni Kenshin“). The film follows four people who were friends growing up in Okinawa after the war. They would raid the nearby U.S. military to steal supplies, but one time their friend On (Eita Nagayama) was chased by U.S. soldiers and disappeared. The other friends still look into his disappearance as adults. Meanwhile, the first teaser trailer for the movie has also been added on AsianWiki.

“Hero’s Island” will be released sometime next year in Japan.

Main cast for movie “Bokura wa Jinsei de Ikkai dake Mahou ga Tsukaeru”

Yusei Yagi, Yuki Inoue, Kaito Sakurai, & Taiga Tsubaki are cast in movie “Bokura wa Jinsei de Ikkai dake Mahou ga Tsukaeru.” Movie is scripted by Osamu Suzuki (“Love x Doc“) and directed by Mahito Kimura (“Ao Haru Ride“). The film is set in a village where boys there can use magic once in their life when they turn 18, but they must use it within 2 years. Four boys think about what they will use it for.

“Bokura wa Jinsei de Ikkai dake Mahou ga Tsukaeru” will be released sometime next year in Japan.

Tsuyoshi Domoto cast in movie “Maru”

Tsuyoshi Domoto is cast for the lead role in movie “Maru.” The quirky film is written and directed by Naoko Ogigami (“Close-Knit“). In the film, Tsuyoshi Domoto will play Sawada, who loses his job as an artist assistant and becomes obsessed with the O shape. A teaser trailer and two teaser posters has also been released for the film. Caption on the teaser posters states “One day suddenly, O came to me.”

“Maru” will be released October, 2024 in Japan.

Trailer and poster for movie “Last Mile”

Trailer and poster added for movie “Last Mile” starring Hikari Mitsushima and Masaki Okada. The film is directed by Ayuko Tsukahara and scripted by Akiko Nogi, who have previously worked together in 2018 TBS drama series “Unnatural” and 2020 TBS drama series “MIU 404.” The film “Last Mile” is set during the Black Friday shopping holiday, when a series of delivery packages explodes. Captions on the trailer states “The night before Black Friday, delivered packages explodes.”

“Last Mile” will be released August 23, 2024 in Japan.

Teaser trailer & poster for Netflix distributed movie “Drawing Closer” starring Ren Nagase and Natsuki Deguchi. The romance film is based on 2021 novel “Yomei Ichinen to Senkoku Sareta Boku ga, Yomei Hantoshi no Kimi to Deatta Hanashi” by Aoi Morita and directed by Takahiro Miki (“The Door into Summer“). The teaser trailer features 2007 pop-rock track “Wakamono no Subete” by Fujifabric.
