The road film is inspired by poetry book “Route 29 Kaihou” by Taichi Nakao and Yusuke Morii. “Route 29” has Haruka Ayase play a lonely woman with the nickname of Tonbo. She goes on a trip with quirky young teen girl named Haru played by Kana Osawa.
“Route 29” will be released November, 2024 in Japan.
Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: Tonbo (Haruka Ayase) is a lonely cleaner who is unable to communicate with people more than necessary. She goes on a trip with a young girl named Haru (Kana Osawa) who is a bit different from ordinary girls. During their trip, Tonbo’s bond with Haru deepens. With their deepening bond and meeting strange people along the way, Tonbo’s empty heart is filled with feelings of joy and sadness.
