First teaser trailer for movie “Grande Maison Paris”

First teaser trailer added for movie “Grande Maison Paris” starring Takuya Kimura, Kyoka Suzuki, & TaecYeon. The film is a sequel to 2019 TBS drama series “La Grande Maison Tokyo” and will be set in Paris, France. This time around, Chef Natsuki Obana (Takuya Kimura) attempts to receive a three star Michelin rating for his new restaurant in Paris.

“Grande Maison Paris” will be released sometime this winter in Japan.

Teaser trailer and poster for movie “Arrogance and Virtue”

Teaser trailer and poster added for movie “Arrogance and Virtue” starring Taisuke Fujigaya and Nao. The romance-mystery film is based on 2019 novel “Goman to Zenryo” by Mizuki Tsujimura. Caption on the poster states “The two of them started through a dating app, but she suddenly disappeared. The movie has also announced the first group of supporting actors and they are Yuki Kura, Nanami Sakuraba, Kenji Anan, Yoshiko Miyazaki, Naomi Nishida, and Beverly Maeda. The movie’s theme song has also been announced as “Itodenwa” by Natori, which is played during the teaser trailer.

Haru Kuroki cast in movie “Aimitagai”

Haru Kuroki is cast for the lead role in movie “Aimitagai.” The movie is based on 2014 novel “Aimitagai” by Tei Chuj, with screenplay adaptation written by Masahide IchiiKiyoshi Sasabe, and Shogo Kusano. Shogo Kusano (“The Longest Photo in The World“) also directed the movie. Also cast for movie are Aoi Nakamura, Sawako Fujima, Naomi Nishida, Tomorowo Taguchi, Tamae Ando, Hana Kondo, Tamaki Shiratori, Mutsuo Yoshioka, Matsu, Takeshi Masu, Jun Fubuki, and Mitsuko Kusabue.

“Aimitagai” will be released November 1, 2024 in Japan.

Trailer and poster added for live-action film “We Don’t Know Love Yet” starring Ryusei Onishi, Airu Kubozuka, Nagisa Saito, & Riko. Movie is based on manga series “Koi wo Shiranai Bokutachi wa” by Minami Mizuno and directed by Mai Sakai. The movie’s theme song has also been revealed as “Koisuru Hikari” by boy band “Naniwa Danshi.” The theme song is also featured in the main trailer. The trailer begins with Ryusei Onishi stating “Thinking back, that’s when everything might have started to change.”

“We Don’t Know Love Yet” will be released August 23, 2024 in Japan.

Suzu Hirose cast in movie “Yuki Teka Heranu”

Suzu Hirose is cast in movie “Yuki Teka Heranu.” The film is based on a true story involving a love triangle between actress Yasuko Hasegawa (born 1904 and died in 1993), poet Chuya Nakahara (born 1907 and died 1937), and critic Hideo Kobayashi (born 1902 and died 1983). Suzu Hirose will play Yasuko Hasegawa. She is loved by both men who were close friends.

“Yuki Teka Heranu” will be released February, 2025 in Japan.

Sosuke Ikematsu cast in movie “Honshin”

Sosuke Ikematsu is cast for the lead role in movie “Honshin.” Also cast in supporting roles are Ayaka Miyoshi, Koshi Mizukami, Taiga Nakano, Min Tanaka, Go Ayano, Satoshi Tsumabuki, and Yuko Tanaka.  The film is based on 2021 novel “Honshin” by Keiichiro Hirano (“After the Matinee“) and directed by Yuya Ishii (“The Moon“). Story for “Honshin” will examine positive and negative aspects of rapidly developing technology like AI and VR, through main character Sakuya Ishikawa played by Sosuke Ikematsu. He is unable to get past the death of his mother and asks a developer to create his mother in a virtual setting.

“Honshin” will be released November 8, 2024 in Japan.

Ryoko Yonekura cast in movie “Gekijoban Doctor-X”

Ryoko Yonekura is cast in movie “Gekijoban Doctor-X.” The movie version follows the popular TV Asahi drama series “Doctor-X,” with Ryoko Yonekura playing highly skilled freelance surgeon Michiko Daimon. Also cast for the movie and reprising their roles from the drama series are Kei Tanaka, Yuki Uchida, Mio Imada, Masanobu Katsumura, Kosuke Suzuki, Kenichi Endo, Ittoku Kishibe, and Toshiyuki Nishida. In addition, the first teaser trailer and teaser poster has also been released to promote the film.

Trailer and poster added for upcoming live-action film “Honeko Akabane’s Bodyguards” (literal title) starring Raul and Natsuki Deguchi. Movie is based on manga series “Akabane Honeko no Bodyguard” by Masamitsu Nigatsu and directed by Junichi Ishikawa (“Mixed Doubles“). The movie’s theme song has also been announced, which is “Breakout” by boy band Snow Man. Lead actor Raul is a member of Snow Man as well. The theme song “Breakout” plays during the main trailer. Caption on the poster states “We will protect Honeko Akabane even at the cost of our lives.”

Actress Non is cast for the lead role in movie “The Hotel of my Dream” (literal title). The movie is based on 2012 novel “Watashi ni Fusawashi Hotel” by Asako Yuzuki (“The Many Faces of Ito“) and directed by Yukihiko Tsutsumi (“Trick: The Movie“). The comedy film is largely set at the Hilltop Hotel in Tokyo, where filming took place in February, 2024.

Yuki Amami cast in movie “Fushigi Dagashiya Zenitendo”

Yuki Amami is cast for the lead role in movie “Fushigi Dagashiya Zenitendo.” The movie is based on children’s novel series “Fushigi Dagashiya Zenitendo” by Reiko Hiroshima and will have Hideo Nakata (“Stolen Identity“) directing the movie adaptation. The film revolves around a strange candy shop run by a mysterious woman named Beniko (Yuki Amami). The candy sold there is able to grant any wish. For Yuki Amami’s transformation into Beniko, she underwent 3 hours of daily makeup application to play the character. The first teaser trailer can be viewed at AsianWiki as well.
