Main trailer and poster for movie “The House Where The Mermaid Sleeps” starring Ryoko Shinohara and Hidetoshi Nishijima. Move is based on 2015 novel “Ningyo no Nemuru Ie” by Keigo Higashino and directed by Yukihiko Tsutsumi. The film follows a husband and wife who learn their daughter is brain dead after drowning in a pool.

“The House Where The Mermaid Sleeps” will be released November 16, 2018 in Japan.

Main trailer and poster added for movie “Under One Umbrella” (“Ai Ai Gasa”) starring Kana KurashinaHayato Ichihara and Danshun Tatekawa. Movie is scripted and directed by Takayuki Takuma. The screenplay was first performed as a stage play which was also written and directed by Takayuki Takuma. The film follows a young woman who finds her father living in a small village after he went missing 25 years ago.

Release date for “Under One Umbrella” is now set for October 26, 2018 in Japan.

Teaser trailer and poster for movie “Fortuna’s Eye”

Teaser trailer and poster added for movie “Fortuna’s Eye” starring Ryunosuke Kamiki and Kasumi Arimura. Movie is based on 2014 novel “Forutuna no Hitomi” by Naoki Hyakuta and directed by Takahiro Miki. In addition, main supporting cast members have been announced for the film. Now cast for the film are Jun Shison, Daigo, Airi Matsui, Yukiya Kitamura, Yuki Saito and Saburo Tokito.

“Fortuna’s Eye” will be released sometime next year in Japan.

Mitsuki Takahata and Kento Yamazaki cast in live-action film “Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku”

Mitsuki Takahata and Kento Yamazaki are cast in live-action film “Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku.” The film is based on webcomic “Wotaku ni Koi ha Muzukashii” by Fujita and will be directed by Yuichi Fukuda (“Gintama“). For the film, Mitsuki Takahata will play Narumi Momose and Kento Yamazaki will play Hirotaka Nifuji. They are both otaku (the girl a fan of boys’ love manga and the boy a fan of gaming) and they decide to date.

Filming for “Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku” will take place from October to November, 2018. The film will be released via Toho sometime next year in Japan.

Supporting cast announced for movie “What Is Love”

5 supporting cast members have been announced for upcoming movie “What Is Love” (literal title) starring Yukino Kishii and Ryo Narita. The newly announced supporting cast members are Mai Fukagawa (former member of ‘Nogizaka46’), Ryuya Wakaba, Reiko Kataoka, Mariko Tsutsui and Noriko Eguchi. The film is based on 2003 novel “Ai ga Nanda” by Mitsuyo Kakuta and directed by Rikiya Imaizumi.

For the supporting characters, Mai Fukagawa will play Yoko. She is friends with lead female character Teruko (Yukino Kishii). Ryuya Wakaba will play Nakamura. He understands Teruko well and likes Yoko. Reiko Kataoka will play the boss of Teruko. Mariko Tsutsui will play Yoko’s mother and Noriko Eguchi will play Sumire.

“What Is Love” is now targeted for release sometime during spring, 2019 in Japan.

Main trailer and poster for movie “The Seven Conferences”

Main trailer and poster for movie “The Seven Conferences” (literal title) starring Mansai Nomura, Teruyuki Kagawa and Mitsuhiro Oikawa. Movie is based on 2012 novel “Nanatsu no Kaigi” by Jun Ikeido and directed by Katsuo Fukuzawa. Author Jun Ikeido recently had another one of his novels “Soratobu Taiya” adapted into the movie “Recall” after WOWOW aired the drama series version “The Flying Tire” back in 2009. Like that novel, “The Seven Conferences” was first adapted into 2013 NHK drama series “The Seven Conferences.” Movie also features Yo Yoshida, Tao Tsuchiya and Junpei Mizobata in supporting roles.

“The Seven Conferences” will be released February 1, 2018 in Japan.

Poster and trailer for movie “Konomichi” starring Nao Omori and Akira (EXILE). The film is based on an original screenplay by Riko Sakaguchi and directed by Kiyoshi Sasabe. The film follows two men (who were real people) who are tasked to write children’s songs. They are then ordered to write a song to help get children onto the battlefield during the war.

“Konomichi” will be released January 11, 2019 in Japan.
