Mei Nagano and Takumi Kitamura (member of rock band ‘Dish’) are cast for the lead roles in movie “Kimi wa Tsukiyo ni Hikarikagayaku.” The film is based on novel “Kimi wa Tsukiyo ni Hikarikagayaku” by Tetsuya Sano and directed by Sho Tsukikawa. In the film, Mei Nagano will play high school student Mamizu Watarase. She is hospitalized with the msyterious disease “Luminescence disease.” The disease causes her skin to glow under the moonlight and it gets brighter as she gets closer to death. Takumi Kitamura will play high school student Takuya Okada. He visits Mamizu Watarase in the hospital and tries to help her fulfill her wishes before her death. He also falls in love with her. Also cast in supporting roles Shouma Kai, Honoka Matsumoto, Mio Imada, Yuka, Tomoko Ikuta, Kyoko Hasegawa and Mitsuhiro Oikawa.
Filming for “Kimi wa Tsukiyo ni Hikarikagayaku” began October 7, 2018 and will finish November 13, 2018. “Kimi wa Tsukiyo ni Hikarikagayaku” will be released March 15, 2019 in Japan.
