Trailer and poster for live-action film “Tora-san” starring Hiromitsu Kitayama, Mikako Tabe and Kokoro Hirasawa. Movie is based on manga “Tora san” by Mina Itaba and directed by Masaya Kakei. The film follows an unpopular manga writer (Hiromitsu Kitayama) who dies in an accident and then is given a month to return to Earth as a cat.
“Tora-san” will be released February 15, 2019 in Japan.
Mayu Matsuoka, Tori Matsuzaka, Win Morisaki and Oji Suzuka are cast for lead roles in movie “Honeybees and Distant Thunder” (literal title). The film is based on 2016 novel “Mitsubachi to Enrai” by Riku Onda and directed by Kei Ishikawa. Original novel “Mitsubachi to Enrai” won the 156th Naoki Prize and the 14th Japan Booksellers’ Award. Story for “Honeybees and Distant Thunder” will follow four people who take part in an international piano competition. Their pasts and backgrounds all differ and so are their reasons for competing.
Filming for “Honeybees and Distant Thunder” will begin at the end of October, 2018 and finish mid-December, 2018. “Honeybees and Distant Thunder” will be released sometime during autumn, 2019 in Japan.
Trailer and poster for live-action film “Waiting For Spring” (English title) starring Tao Tsuchiya, Takumi Kitamura and Yuta Koseki. The film is based on manga series “Harumatsu Bokura” by Anashin and directed by Yuichiro Hirakawa. “Waiting For Spring” is a teen-romance film that also revolves around the sport of basketball. Another film that comes out in Japan this November is “Run! T High School Basketball Club” which also revolves around high school basketball.
“Waiting For Spring” will be released December 14, 2018 in Japan.
Main trailer and poster added for movie “Masquerade Hotel” starring Takuya Kimura and Masami Nagasawa. Movie is based on 2011 novel “Masquerade Hotel” by Keigo Higashino and directed by Masayuki Suzuki.
In addition, 20 supporting cast members has been announced for the film.
Playing detectives are Fumiyo Kohinata, Zen Kajihara, Yuki Izumisawa, Eisuke Sasai and Atsuro Watabe.

Main trailer and poster for movie “Neet Neet Neet” starring Kentaro Yasui,Ryosuke Yamamoto,Myuto Morita and Atsuki Tomori. In Japan, “Neet” is a term for people working low wage part-time jobs. A few steps away from “Freeters” who are unemployed and often living with their parents. The film follows three men who fall under the description of “Neet” and they take a road trip to Hokkaido. The trailer also features the movie’s theme song which is “Carry on” by Japanese rock band 9mm Parabellum Bullet.
“Neet Neet Neet” will be released November 23, 2018 in Japan.
Trailer added for coming-of-age film “We Are” starring Erina Mano, Kurumi Shimizu, Ryusei Yokohama, Yuki Morinaga and Junki Tozuka. The trailer also reveals the movie’s theme song which is “Tarareba” by Japanese rock group Amazarashi. Movie is directed by Michihito Fujii.

Teaser trailer for live-action film “Chiwawa-chan” starring Mugi Kadowaki, Ryo Narita, Kanichiro and Tina Tamashiro. Movie is based on manga “Chiwawa-chan” by Kyoko Okazaki and directed by Ken Ninomiya. The film starts out with the body of Chiwawa-chan found in Tokyo Bay.

Mei Nagano and Takumi Kitamura (member of rock band ‘Dish’) are cast for the lead roles in movie “Kimi wa Tsukiyo ni Hikarikagayaku.” The film is based on novel “Kimi wa Tsukiyo ni Hikarikagayaku” by Tetsuya Sano and directed by Sho Tsukikawa. In the film, Mei Nagano will play high school student Mamizu Watarase. She is hospitalized with the msyterious disease “Luminescence disease.” The disease causes her skin to glow under the moonlight and it gets brighter as she gets closer to death. Takumi Kitamura will play high school student Takuya Okada. He visits Mamizu Watarase in the hospital and tries to help her fulfill her wishes before her death. He also falls in love with her. Also cast in supporting roles Shouma Kai, Honoka Matsumoto, Mio Imada, Yuka, Tomoko Ikuta, Kyoko Hasegawa and Mitsuhiro Oikawa.
Filming for “Kimi wa Tsukiyo ni Hikarikagayaku” began October 7, 2018 and will finish November 13, 2018. “Kimi wa Tsukiyo ni Hikarikagayaku” will be released March 15, 2019 in Japan.
