English subtitled teaser trailer for movie “Makuko”

English subtitled teaser trailer for movie “Makuko” starring Hikaru YamazakiNinonTsuyoshi Kusanagi and Risa Sudo. Movie is based on 2016 novel “Makuko” by Kanako Nishi (“Yellow Elephant“) and directed by Keiko Tsuruoka. The teaser trailer reveals the unusual background of Kozue (Ninon) and her mother Akemi (Risa Sudo). At least claimed by Kozue that they are from another planet.

“Makuko” will be released March, 2019 in Japan.

Trailer #2 for movie “The House Where The Mermaid Sleeps”

Trailer #2 for movie “The House Where The Mermaid Sleeps”  starring Ryoko Shinohara and Hidetoshi Nishijima. Movie is based on 2015 novel “Ningyo no Nemuru Ie” by Keigo Higashino and directed by Yukihiko Tsutsumi. In trailer #2 movie’s theme song “Ai Kotoba” by singer-songwriter Ayaka is prominently featured.

“The House Where The Mermaid Sleeps” will have its world premiere on October 29, 2018 at the 31st Tokyo International Film Festival and then have its general premiere on November 16, 2018.

Mayu Matsuoka, Tori Matsuzaka, Win Morisaki, Oji Suzuka cast in movie “Honeybees and Distant Thunder”

Mayu Matsuoka, Tori Matsuzaka, Win Morisaki and Oji Suzuka are cast for lead roles in movie “Honeybees and Distant Thunder” (literal title). The film is based on 2016 novel “Mitsubachi to Enrai” by Riku Onda and directed by Kei Ishikawa. Original novel “Mitsubachi to Enrai” won the 156th Naoki Prize and the 14th Japan Booksellers’ Award. Story for “Honeybees and Distant Thunder” will follow four people who take part in an international piano competition. Their pasts and backgrounds all differ and so are their reasons for competing.

Filming for “Honeybees and Distant Thunder” will begin at the end of October, 2018 and finish mid-December, 2018. “Honeybees and Distant Thunder” will be released sometime during autumn, 2019 in Japan.

Trailer and poster for live-action film “Waiting For Spring” (English title) starring Tao TsuchiyaTakumi Kitamura and Yuta Koseki. The film is based on manga series “Harumatsu Bokura” by Anashin and directed by Yuichiro Hirakawa. “Waiting For Spring” is a teen-romance film that also revolves around the sport of basketball. Another film that comes out in Japan this November is “Run! T High School Basketball Club” which also revolves around high school basketball.

“Waiting For Spring” will be released December 14, 2018 in Japan.

Main trailer and poster for movie “Masquerade Hotel”

Main trailer and poster added for movie “Masquerade Hotel” starring Takuya Kimura and Masami Nagasawa. Movie is based on 2011 novel “Masquerade Hotel” by Keigo Higashino and directed by Masayuki Suzuki.

In addition, 20 supporting cast members has been announced for the film.

Playing detectives are  Fumiyo Kohinata, Zen Kajihara, Yuki Izumisawa, Eisuke Sasai and Atsuro Watabe.

Playing hotel employees are Ren Ishikawa, Toshihide Tonesaku, Shingo Tsurumi and Ryo Ishibashi.

Playing hotel guests are Gaku Hamada, Atsuko Maeda, Takashi Sasano, Masahiro Takashima, Nanao, Takashi Ukaji, Manami Hashimoto, Hiromasa Taguchi, Ryo Katsuji, Katsuhisa Namase and Takako Matsu.

“Masquerade Hotel” will be released January 18, 2019 in Japan.

Main trailer and poster for movie “Neet Neet Neet” starring Kentaro Yasui,Ryosuke Yamamoto,Myuto Morita and Atsuki Tomori. In Japan, “Neet” is a term for people working low wage part-time jobs. A few steps away from “Freeters” who are unemployed and often living with their parents. The film follows three men who fall under the description of “Neet” and they take a road trip to Hokkaido. The trailer also features the movie’s theme song which is “Carry on” by Japanese rock band 9mm Parabellum Bullet.

“Neet Neet Neet” will be released November 23, 2018 in Japan.
