Teaser trailer and poster for live-action film “Hatsukoi: Otosan, Chibi ga Inaku Narimashita” starring Chieko Baisho  and Tatsuya Fuji. The film is based on manga “Otosan, Chibi ga Inaku Narimashita” by Keiko Nishi and directed by Shotaro Kobayashi. Story for “Hatsukoi: Otosan, Chibi ga Inaku Narimashita” follows Masaru (Tatsuya Fuji) and Yukiko (Chieko Baisho). They have been married for 44 years, but Yukiko decides she wants a divorce.

“Hatsukoi: Otosan, Chibi ga Inaku Narimashita” will be released sometime during spring, 2019 in Japan.

English subtitled trailer for movie “Love At Least”

English subtitled trailer for movie “Love At Least” starring Shuri and Masaki Suda. The trailer stands on its for a captivating two minute video & audio experience. “Love At Least” is based on novel “Ikiteru Dake de, Ai” by Yukiko Motoya and directed by Kosai Sekine. The trailer also features the movie’s theme song which is “1/5000” by Hiroko Sebu.

“Love At Least” will be released November 9, 2018 in Japan.

Kento Yamazaki cast in live-action film “Kingdom”

Kento Yamazaki is cast for the lead role in live-action film “Kingdom.” The film is based on manga series “Kingdom” by Yasuhisa Hara and directed by Shinsuke Sato. Cast in supporting roles are Ryo Yoshizawa, Masami Nagasawa,Kanna Hashimoto and Takao Osawa. Filming for the movie has already been completed. Filming began April, 2018 in China and then took place in Japan for another one and a half months. The film is set in Qin Dynasty during the warring states period in China. Kento Yamazaki plays Shin who dreams of becoming a great military general. Ryo Yoshizawa will play two characters: Eisei (young King) and Hyou (childhood friend of Shin).

Meanwhile the first trailer for “Kingdom” has been added on AsianWiki. “Kingdom” will be released April 19, 2019.

Teaser trailer #2 added for movie “Ai Uta: Yakusoku no Nakuhito” starring Ryusei Yokohama, Kaya Kiyohara and Hiroki Iijima. The movie is based on song”Ai Uta” by pop rock group GReeeeN and directed by Yasuhiro Kawamura. This is the second film that is based on a song by GReeeeN. 2017 film “Kiseki: Sobito of That Day” was the first film based on a song by GReeeeN.

“Ai Uta: Yakusoku no Nakuhito” will be released January 25, 2019 in Japan.

Takumi Saito cast in movie “Mahjong Horoki 2020”

Takumi Saito is cast in movie “Mahjong Horoki 2020.” The film is based on novel “Mahjong Horoki” by Takehiro Irokawa and directed by Kazuya Shiraishi. Kazuya Shiraishi is known more for his darker suspense films like “The Devil’s Path” and “Birds Without Names.” In the film “Mahjong Horoki 2020,” Takumi Saito plays main character Boyatetsu. He travels to the year 2020 from the year 1945. While he becomes acclimated to a Tokyo that deals with a declining population and rising unemployment rate, he tries to play mahjong.

“Mahjong Horoki 2020” will be released April 5, 2019 in Japan.

Masami Nagasawa, Masahiro Higashide & Fumiyo Kohinata cast in movie “The Confidence Man JP: The Movie”

Masami Nagasawa, Masahiro Higashide and Fumiyo Kohinata are cast in movie “The Confidence Man JP: The Movie.” The movie is a sequel to 2018 Fuji TV drama series “The Confidence Man JP.” Masami Nagasawa, Masahiro Higashide and Fumiyo Kohinata will reprise their respective characters from the drama series. Filming for “The Confidence Man JP: The Movie” finished recently and took about one and a half months to complete. Filming took place in Japan and Hong Kong, while the last scene filmed took place at Fuji Television Wangan Studio in Tokyo, Japan. Photo above is from the last day of filming for the movie. Movie is directed by Ryo Tanaka  and scripted by Ryota Kosawa, both of whom worked on the original Fuji TV drama series version.

“The Confidence Man JP: The Movie” will be released sometime next year in Japan.

Teaser trailer and poster for movie “Prince of Legend”

Teaser trailer and poster added for movie “Prince of Legend” starring Ryota Katayose, Hiroki Iijima, Akihisa Shiono and Nobuyuki Suzuki. The film is set at a high school where 14 males students take part in a competition to become Prince of Legend at their school. The movie version will follow NTV drama series “Prince of Legend” which will first air October 3, 2018. The drama series version will give a backdrop on the 14 male students and their reasons for taking part in the competition. Still images below is from the movie version.

Movie “Prince of Legend” will be released March 21, 2019 in Japan.
