Trailer for movie “Million Dollar Man”

Main trailer for movie “Million Dollar Man” starring Takeru Satoh and Issey Takahashi. The movie’s theme song has been selected which is “Hanashi ga Shitaiyo” by rock band Bump of Chicken. The theme song is played in the main trailer. Movie “Million Dollar Man” is based on 2014 novel “Oku Otoko” by movie producer Genki Kawamura and directed by Keishi Ohtomo. The film follows a man (Takeru Satoh) who wins the lottery, but is then swindled out of the money by a friend (Issey Takahashi). Still images for the movie can be found below.

Main trailer and main poster for movie “Our Departures”

Main trailer and main poster added for upcoming movie “Our Departures” starring Kasumi Arimura and Jun Kunimura. Movie is the third film in the “Railways” following 2010 film “Railways” and 2011 film “Crossroads.” Each film has different characters and stories, but revolve around trains. In “Our Departures,” Kasumi Arimura plays a young widow and attempts to become a train driver. Movie is directed by Yasuhiro Yoshida.

“Our Departures” will be released November 30, 2018 in Japan.

Teaser trailer and poster for movie “Konna Yofuke ni Banana kayo: Kanashiki Jitsuwa” starring Yo Oizumi, Mitsuki Takahata and Haruma Miura. Movie is based on 2003 nonfiction novel “Konna Yofuke ni Banana kayo” by Kazufumi Watanabe and directed by Tetsu Maeda. The story follows a hospital patient with muscular dystrophy (Yo Oizumi) as he asks hospital volunteer (Haruma Miura) to write a love letter for him. The love letter’s recipient is the volunteer’s girlfriend (Mitsuki Takahata).

“Konna Yofuke ni Banana kayo: Kanashiki Jitsuwa” will be released December 28, 2018 in Japan.

Main trailer for movie “Hahasan ga Donna ni Boku wo Kirai demo”

Main trailer for movie “Hahasan ga Donna ni Boku wo Kirai demo” starring Taiga and Yo Yoshida. The film is based on autobiographical manga “Hahasan ga Donna ni Boku wo Kirai demo” by Taiji Utagawa and directed by Osamu Minorikawa. A caption appears in the trailer around the 5 second mark stating in Japanese “I like my mother a lot.” The film itself deals with a young adult man (Taiga) attempting to reconnect with his mother (Yo Yoshida). As you can see from the trailer, the mother has/had serious anger management issues rivaling Joan Crawford in her glory days. The theme song for the movie has also been revealed which is”Seven Seas Journey” by Japanese a cappella group Gospellers.

“Hahasan ga Donna ni Boku wo Kirai demo” will be released November 16, 2018 in Japan.

Gou Ayano, Hana Sugisaki and Koichi Sato cast in movie “Paradise”

Gou Ayano, Hana Sugisaki and Koichi Sato are cast in crime film “Paradise” (“Rakuen”). The film is based on two short stories from “A Collection of Crime Stories” by Shuichi Yoshida  and directed by Takahisa Zeze. The film revolves around two kidnappings that took place over a 12 year period along the same road. Gou Ayano plays Takeshi, a suspect in the second kidnapping. Hana Sugisaki plays Tsumugi. She was with the girl prior to the first kidnapping. Koichi Sato plays town resident Zenjiro. Filming for the movie begins September 10, 2018 and finishes October, 2018.

“Paradise” will be released sometime next year in Japan.

Teaser poster and release date for movie “Ao no Kaerimichi”

Teaser poster and release date for coming-of-age film “Ao no Kaerimichi” starring Erina Mano, Kurumi Shimizu and Ryusei Yokohama. Caption on the right side of the teaser poster states in Japanese “If I were a genius.” The theme song for the movie has also been revealed which is “Tarareba” by Japanese rock music group Amazarashi. Movie is directed by Michihito Fujii.

“Ao no Kaerimichi” will be released December 7, 2018 in Japan.

Main poster added for movie “The Antique” starring Haru Kuroki and Shuhei Nomura. Caption in the middle of the poster states in Japanese “Books connect the past and now.. heart-moving, touching mystery.. ” “The Antique” is based on the “Biblia Koshodo no Jiken Techou” series of novels by En Mikami. 2013 Fuji TV drama series “Antiquarian Bookshop Biblia’s Case Files” starring Ayame Gouriki and Akira is also based on the same series of novels.  Movie is directed by Yukiko Mishima.

“The Antique” opens November 1, 2018 in Japan.
