Starring cast and first teaser trailer for movie “Hero’s Island”

Satoshi Tsumabuki, Suzu Hirose, Masataka Kubota, & Eita Nagayama are cast in movie “Hero’s Island.” Movie is based on 2018 novel “Takarajima” by Junjo Shindo and directed by Keishi Ohtomo (“Rurouni Kenshin“). The film follows four people who were friends growing up in Okinawa after the war. They would raid the nearby U.S. military to steal supplies, but one time their friend On (Eita Nagayama) was chased by U.S. soldiers and disappeared. The other friends still look into his disappearance as adults. Meanwhile, the first teaser trailer for the movie has also been added on AsianWiki.

“Hero’s Island” will be released sometime next year in Japan.

Jung Kyoung-Ho cast in MBC drama “Labor Attorney No Mu-Jin”

Jung Kyoung-Ho is cast in new MBC drama series “Labor Attorney No Mu-Jin.” The original screenplay is scripted by Kim Bo-Tong (“D.P.“) & Yoo Seung-Hee (“I Can Speak“) and will have well known movie director Yim Soonrye (“Forever the Moment“) directing her first drama series. Genre for the drama series will feature a mixture of fantasy, comedy, and drama. For Jung Kyoung-Ho, he will play main character No Mu-Jin. He works as a labor attorney, but he doesn’t have a sense of justice. No Mu-Jin somehow begins working on labor cases for ghosts.

” Labor Attorney No Mu-Jin” will air sometime next year in South Korea.

Son Hyun-Joo & Kim Myung-Min cast in ENA drama “Your Honor”

Son Hyun-Joo & Kim Myung-Min are cast in ENA drama series “Your Honor.” The drama series will be directed by Yoo Jong-Sun (“Descendants of the Sun“) and scripted by Kim Jae-Hwan (“Boyhood“). In “Your Honor,” two fathers will face off after they become monsters for their children. Son Hyun-Joo will play Judge Song Pan-Ho and Kim Myung-Min will play crime boss Kim Gang-Heon.

“Your Honor” will first air sometime this summer in South Korea (takes over ENA’s Monday & Tuesday 10PM time slot after “Crash“).

Eiko Koike and Taiga Nakano cast in Fuji TV drama “Shinjuku Yasen Byoin”

Eiko Koike and Taiga Nakano are cast in Fuji TV drama series “Shinjuku Yasen Byoin.” The drama series features an original screenplay by Kankuro Kudo (“Let’s Get Divorced“). Story for “Shinjuku Yasen Byoin” will be set at an old hospital in the Kabukicho entertainment district in Shinjuku, Tokyo. They receive patients that include homeless people, foreign residents, hosts, and sex workers. Eiko Koike will play Yoko Nishi Freeman. She was born and raised in the U.S. and comes to work at the hospital in Kabukicho.

“Shinjuku Yasen Byoin” will first air July, 2024 in Japan (takes over Fuji TV’s Wednesday 10PM time slot after “Blue Moment“).

Disney+ to stream drama series “Seoul Busters”

Upcoming police-comedy drama series “Seoul Busters,” starring Kim Dong-Wook, Park Ji-Hwan, Seo Hyun-Woo, Park Se-Wan, & Lee Seung-Woo, will be broadcast exclusively through Disney+. The drama series was first announced that it would air through SBS, but has since switched to Disney+. The screenplay is written by Lee Young-ChulLee Gwang-Jae, who previously worked together on 2013 tvN drama series “Potato Star 2013QR3.” The story for “Seoul Busters” will revolve around the Violent Crime Team 2 at the Songwon Police Station. Dongbang Yoo-Bin (Kim Dong-Wook) begins working for that team, which consistently ranks the lowest in the nation in terms of arrests.

“Seoul Busters” will be available to stream from September, 2024.

Trailer for tvN drama series “The Player 2: Master of Swindlers”

Trailer added for tvN drama series “The Player 2: Master of Swindlers” starring Song Seung-Heon, Oh Yeon-Seo, Lee Si-Un, Tae Won-Seock, & Jang Gyu-Ri. The drama series is a sequel to 2018 OCN drama series “The Player.” Jang Gyu-Ri plays new character Cha Je-Yi. She is the driver for the team and seeks revenge for the death of her sister Cha A-Ryeong (Krystal) who starred in the 2018 OCN drama series. The trailer begins with Song Seung-Heon stating “Now it’s 30 billion won. The most important thing is money in the end.” Narration follows with (0:09) anonymous voice “It’s interesting to see these guys who used to be petty thieves,” (0:15) Song Seung-Heon “I’ll kill you,” and (0:32) Song Seung-Heon “Revenge, not money.”

Kasumi Arimura cast in Fuji TV drama “Umi no Hajimari”

Kasumi Arimura cast in Fuji TV drama series “Umi no Hajimari” co-starring Ren Meguro. Drama series is based on an original screenplay by Miku Ubukata (“My Beloved Flower“).”Umi no Hajimari” will have Kasumi Arimura return to Fuji TV’s 9PM time for the first time since 2016 drama series “Love That Makes You Cry.” In the upcoming drama serise, Kasumi Arimura will play Yayoi Momose. She is dating Natsu Tsukioka (Ren Meguro) and must deal with her own feelings when her boyfriends learns that he has a young daughter from a relationship 7 years ago.

“Umi no Hajimari” will first air  July, 2024 in Japan.

Goki Maeda & Sayu Kubota cast in NTV drama “Watashi wo Moratte: Tsuiokuhen”

Goki Maeda & Sayu Kubota are cast in NTV drama series “Watashi wo Moratte: Tsuiokuhen.” The drama series is based on South Korean webtoon “Nal Gajeoyo” by RoseBean & One Punch Rabbit. In “Watashi wo Moratte: Tsuiokuhen,” Sayu Kubota plays Natsumi Morikawa. After waking up from a coma caused by an accident, she gets home and sees the ghost Ryoei Ichijo played by Goki Maeda. Ryoei Ichijo was also involved in an accident and went into a coma.

“Watashi wo Moratte: Tsuiokuhen” will be released July 5, 2024 in Japan.
