Lead actresses announced for TV Asahi drama “SKY Castle.”

Nao Matsushita, Fumino Kimura, Manami Higa, Maryjun Takahashi, and Koyuki are cast in TV Asahi drama series “SKY Castle.” The drama series is a remake of 2018 JTBC drma series “SKY Castle.” The screenplay adaptation for the remake is written by Hiroshi Hashimoto (“A Family Goes Job Hunting“) and will be directed by Naomi Tamura, Yuji Nakamae, and Kazunari Hoshino. Nao Matsushita, Fumino Kimura, Manami Higa, Maryjun Takahashi will play mothers who live with within the exclusive SKY CASTLE neighborhood and compete to get their children into the top school. Koyuki will play Ayaka Kujo. She is a private instructor who charges an outrageous rate, but has a 100% success rate.

Shin Hae-Sun and Lee Jin-Uk cast in romance drama “To My Haeri”

Shin Hae-Sun and Lee Jin-Uk are cast in romance drama series “To My Haeri” (literal title). The healing romance screenplay is written by Han Ga-Ram (“When the Weather is Fine“) and directed by Jung Ji-Hyun (“Twenty Five Twenty One“). For Shin Hae-Sun, she will play a woman with two personalities named Joo Eun-Ho and Joo Hye-Ri. Lee Jin-Uk will play popular announcer Jung Hyun-O, who also carries a deep emotional wound.

“To My Haeri” is expected to air sometime in the second half of this year in South Korea.

Non cast in movie “The Hotel of my Dream”

Actress Non is cast for the lead role in movie “The Hotel of my Dream” (literal title). The movie is based on 2012 novel “Watashi ni Fusawashi Hotel” by Asako Yuzuki (“The Many Faces of Ito“) and directed by Yukihiko Tsutsumi (“Trick: The Movie“). The comedy film is largely set at the Hilltop Hotel in Tokyo, where filming took place in February, 2024.

“The Hotel of my Dream” will be released December, 2024 in Japan.

Main trailer and posters for movie “Handsome Guys”

Main trailer and posters added for comedy film “Handsome Guys” starring Lee Sung-Min and Lee Hee-Jun. The film revolves around two guys who move out to the countryside, but come in for a surprise. Captions in the main trailer states (0:25) “Scary,” (0:26) “Funny,” (0:26) “Handsome,” (0:27) “The men are coming,” (0:41) “Why is everything happening in my house?,” (1:20) “The sealed evil spirit,” (1:24) “Is awakened.”

“Handsome Guys” will be released June 26, 2024 in South Korea.

Takuya Kimura & Kyoka Suzuki cast in movie “La Grande Maison Paris”

Takuya Kimura & Kyoka Suzuki are cast in movie “La Grande Maison Paris.” The film is a sequel to 2019 TBS drama series “La Grande Maison Tokyo.” Also cast for the movie and reprising their roles from the drama series are Ikki Sawamura, Mitsuhiro Oikawa, Yuta Tamamori, Kanichiro, Ayako Yoshitani, Anne Nakamura, and Ai Tominaga. South Korean singer-actor TaecYeon will also appear in the movie version. Setting for the movie is Paris, France and filming took place in that country during March, 2024.

“La Grande Maison Paris” will be released this winter in Japan.

Ryo Narita, Ai Yoshikawa, and Fumiyo Kohinata are cast in NTV-YTV drama series “Furitsumore Kodokuna Shiyo.” The drama series is based on webcomic “Furitsumore Kodokuna Shiyo” by Hajime Inoryu. The script will tell a mystery-suspense story involving a crime from 7 years ago and a new crime that occurs in the present day.

“Furitsumore Kodokuna Shiyo” will first air July 7, 2024 in Japan (takes over NTV’s Sunday 10:30 PM time slot after “Acma: Game“).

Marika Matsumoto cast in TV Tokyo drama “Otto no Katei wo Kowasu Made.”

Marika Matsumoto, Terunosuke Takezai, and Maho Nonami are cast in TV Tokyo drama series “Otto no Katei wo Kowasu Made.” The drama series is based on the webcomic of same name by Mana Akaishi.  For the upcoming drama series Marika Matsumoto will play lead character Minori Kisaragi. She learns her husband has been in an affair for 15 years and she sets out to get revenge.

Yuki Amami cast in movie “Fushigi Dagashiya Zenitendo”

Yuki Amami is cast for the lead role in movie “Fushigi Dagashiya Zenitendo.” The movie is based on children’s novel series “Fushigi Dagashiya Zenitendo” by Reiko Hiroshima and will have Hideo Nakata (“Stolen Identity“) directing the movie adaptation. The film revolves around a strange candy shop run by a mysterious woman named Beniko (Yuki Amami). The candy sold there is able to grant any wish. For Yuki Amami’s transformation into Beniko, she underwent 3 hours of daily makeup application to play the character. The first teaser trailer can be viewed at AsianWiki as well.

“Fushigi Dagashiya Zenitendo” will be released December 13, 2024 in Japan.
