Han So-Hee & Jun Jong-Seo cast in drama “Project Y”

Han So-Hee and Jun Jong-Seo are cast in new drama series “Project Y” (working title). The drama series is setup as a crime noir and directed by Lee Hwan (“Park Hwa-Young“). Filming is slated to begin sometime in the second half of this year, but release date or broadcast network/ott platform has not yet been decided. Production company Climax Studio (“My Name“/”Gyeongseong Creature“) is in charge of production.

Bae In-Hyuk, Kim Ji-Eun, Jung Gun-Joo, & Jae Chan are cast in Channel A drama series “Check-in Hanyang.”

Bae In-Hyuk, Kim Ji-Eun, Jung Gun-Joo, & Jae Chan are cast in Channel A drama series “Check-in Hanyang.” Drama series will be directed by Myung Hyun-Woo (“The 3rd Hospital“). Story for “Check-in Hanyang” is set during the Joseon period and has the four leads playing interns at the nation’s largest guesthouse. The story develops as a coming of age story with romance.

Filming for “Check-in Hanyang” will begin soon, but airing date has not yet been decided.

Trailer and poster for movie “Last Mile”

Trailer and poster added for movie “Last Mile” starring Hikari Mitsushima and Masaki Okada. The film is directed by Ayuko Tsukahara and scripted by Akiko Nogi, who have previously worked together in 2018 TBS drama series “Unnatural” and 2020 TBS drama series “MIU 404.” The film “Last Mile” is set during the Black Friday shopping holiday, when a series of delivery packages explodes. Captions on the trailer states “The night before Black Friday, delivered packages explodes.”

“Last Mile” will be released August 23, 2024 in Japan.

Teaser trailer & poster for Netflix distributed movie “Drawing Closer” starring Ren Nagase and Natsuki Deguchi. The romance film is based on 2021 novel “Yomei Ichinen to Senkoku Sareta Boku ga, Yomei Hantoshi no Kimi to Deatta Hanashi” by Aoi Morita and directed by Takahiro Miki (“The Door into Summer“). The teaser trailer features 2007 pop-rock track “Wakamono no Subete” by Fujifabric.

“Drawing Closer” will be available to stream June 27, 2024.

Mayu Matsuoka, Minami Tanaka, & Karen Takizawa cast in Fuji TV drama “Geeks”

Mayu Matsuoka, Minami Tanaka, and Karen Takizawa are cast in Fuji TV drama series “Geeks” (working title). All three women will play employees at the Takanashi Police Station and are good friends. They gather on Fridays, to eat and drink and talk about their lives. They also begin to use their talents to solve difficult cases during their get-togethers.

“Geeks” will first air July, 2024 in Fuji TV’s Thursday 10PM time slot (replacing “Re: Revenge“).

Nagisa Shibuya cast in movie “Ano Ko wa Dare”

Nagisa Shibuya is cast for the lead role in horror movie “Ano Ko wa Dare.” Movie is directed by Takashi Shimizu (“Ju-on“). Also cast for the film are Ikoi Hayase, Soma Santoki, Towa Araki, Maya Imamori, Shun Aoi, Shota Sometani, Satoru Matsuo and Makita Sports. The promotional poster shows the bodies of 5 students and a teacher, but their reflection shows 6 students and the teacher. In addition, the first teaser trailer has been added on AsianWiki.

“Ano Ko wa Dare” will be released July 19, 2024 in Japan.

Lead cast announced for SBS drama “The Fiery Priest 2”

Kim Nam-Gil, Lee Ha-Nee, Kim Sung-Kyun, and Bibi are cast in sequel SBS drama series “The Fiery Priest 2.” The drama series is a sequel to popular 2019 SBS drama series “The Fiery Priest,” which received TV ratings up to 24.7%. Kim Nam-Gil, Lee Ha-Nee, Kim Sung-Kyun will reprise their roles of hot tempered Priest Kim Hae-Il, Prosecutor Park Kyung-Sun, and Detective Gu Dae-Young. Singer-actress Bibi will play new character Gu Ja-Young. She works as a detective on an anti-drug team in Busan.

“The Fiery Priest 2” will first air sometime in the second half of this year in South Korea.

Teaser trailer and poster added for movie “Boku ga Ikiteru, Futatsu no Sekai” starring Ryo Yoshizawa. The film, directed by  Mipo O (“The Light Shines Only There“), follows a young man Dai Igarashi, who acts as an interpreter of his deaf mom, but tries to leave his small town. The film is also based on nonfiction novel “Ro no Ryoshin kara Umareta Boku ga Kikoeru Sekai to Kikoenai Sekai wo Ikikishite Kangaeta 30 no Koto” by Dai Igarashi.

“Boku ga Ikiteru, Futatsu no Sekai” will be released September, 2024 in Japan.

Teaser trailer and posters added for thriller film “Cloud” starring Masaki Suda. Filming for “Cloud” took place from November 25, 2023 and finished December 22, 2023, with Kiyoshi Kurosawa (“Tokyo Sonata“) having written and directed the film. Caption on the teaser posters with Masaki Suda states “Everday life is destroyed” and the second teaser poster states “I am targeted by madness.’

“Cloud” will be released September 27, 2024 in Japan.

Teaser trailer added for movie “Wonderland” starring Tang Wei, Bae Suzy, Park Bo-Gum, Jung Yu-Mi, & Choi Woo-Sik. Movie is directed by Kim Tae-Yong (“Late Autumn“). The film revolves around Wonderland, which is video calling app that reunites users with deceased people using AI. Captions in the teaser trailer states (0:08) “Eternal separation from a loved one,” (0:21) “You can meet again anytime and anywhere,” (0:33) “2024.06.05.  Would you like to start Wonderland?”
