Teaser poster & release date for JTBC drama “My Sweet Mobster”

Teaser posters and release date set for JTBC drama series “My Sweet Mobster” starring Um Tae-Goo and Han Sun-Hwa. The screenplay is based on web novel “Nolajooneun Yeoja” by Park Soo-Jung & Yool-Pi. For “My Sweet Mobster,” Um Tae-Goo will play Seo Ji-Hwan. He is a reformed ex-gangster and now the CEO of a company. Han Sun-Hwa will play Go Eun-Ha. She runs a YouTube channel for kids. Ren Meguro and Rana Izutani are cast in Fuji TV drama series “Umi no Hajimari.” The drama series features an original screenplay by Miku Ubukata (“My Beloved Flower“). Child actress Rana Izutani was cast for the second lead role after going through auditions. The drama series will revolve around the relationship between father and daughter, after the father learns he has a daughter while attending the funeral of his ex-girlfriend from college.

“Umi no Hajimari” will first air July, 2024 in Japan (takes over Fuji TV’s Monday 9PM time slot after “366 Days“).

Main trailer and poster added for movie “The Plot” starring Gang Dong-Won. Movie is written and directed by Lee Yo-Sub (“The Queen of Crime“). The main trailer starts with Gang Dong-Won as Young-Il stating “Every accident can be manipulated. That’s our job.” As the leader of a contract killing group, Young-Il designs murders that appear as accidents. Yoo Yeon-Seok & Chae Soo-Bin are cast in MBC drama series “The Number You Have Dialed” (literal title). The drama series is based on web novel “Jigeum Geoshin Jeonhwaneun” by Geoneomulnyeo and directed by Park Sang-Woo (“My Secret, Terrius“). In the romance-mystery drama series, Yoo Yeon-Seok and Chae Soo-Bin will play a couple in an arranged marriage. They are not in love with each other, but their feelings change after the wife is kidnapped.

“The Number You Have Dialed” will first air winter, 2024 in South Korea.

See list of winners and nominees at the just concluded 60th Annual BaekSang Arts Awards. The award show recognizes the top movies and drama series. On the film side, the top winners were “12.12: The Day” and “Exhuma.” “12.12: The Day” won the Grand Prize Award, Best Film, and Best Actor Award for Hwang Jung-Min. On the drama series side, top winners were Disney+ drama series “Moving” and MBC drama series “My Dearest.” Drama series “Moving” won the Grand Prize Award, Best Screenplay, and Best New Actor Award for Lee Jung-Ha.

Yosuke Sugino and Nao Omori cast in Fuji TV-KTV drama “Mountain Doctor”

Yosuke Sugino and Nao Omori are cast in Fuji TV–KTV drama series “Mountain Doctor.” The drama series features an original screenplay by Yuya Takahashi (“Yuya Takahashi“) and directed by Masahiro Kunimoto (“Ms. Kanna!“). Setting for the drama series is set around Matsumoto, Nagano Prefecture and filming will also takes place there and on the surrounding mountains. Yosuke Sugino will play the lead character Ayumu Miyamoto, who returns to his hometown and becomes a member of the mountain medical treatment team. Nao Omori will play major supporting character Gakuto Emori. He also works at the same hospital and on the same mountain medical treatment team as Ayumu Miyamoto.

Asami Mizukawa, Tetsuji Tamayama, and Sho Sakurai are cast in TBS drama series “Warau Matryoshka.” The upcoming drama series is based on 2021 novel “Warau Matryoshka” by Kazumasa Hayami (“The King of Novels“) and directed by Kazuyuki Iwata (“Zanka: Beautiful Snares“).
