Han Ye-Seul offered lead female role in SBS drama series “Big Issue”

Han Ye-Seul has been offered the lead female role in new SBS drama series “Big Issue.” Actor Joo Jin-Mo has already received an offer to play the lead male role for the drama series. Both performers are currently considering their offers. If Han Ye-Seul accepts, she will play Ji Soo-Hyun. She works as the chief editor of a paparazzi group and she is notorious at her work. Filming for the drama series will begin December, 2018.

“Big Issue” will first air February, 2019 taking over SBS’ Wednesday and Thursday 10PM time slot after “The Last Empress.”

First still image of Masataka Kubota in live-action sequel film “Tokyo Ghoul 2”

Here’s the first still image of Masataka Kubota in live-action sequel film “Tokyo Ghoul 2” co-starring Shota Matsuda and Maika Yamamoto. The film is based on manga “Tokyo Ghoul” by Sui Ishida and follows 2017 live-action film “Tokyo Ghoul.” In the film, Masataka Kubota plays main character Ken Kaneki who is half-human and half-ghoul. Ghouls are monsters who look human, but eat human flesh.

In addition, release date for “Tokyo Ghoul 2” is now slotted for sometime during summer, 2019 in Japan.

First teaser poster and release date for movie “Malmoi”

Here’s the first teaser poster for upcoming movie “Malmoi” starring Yu Hae-Jin and Yoon Kye-Sang. The film is directed by Uhm Yoo-Na who previously wrote the screenplay for movie “A Taxi Driver.” “Malmoi” is set in the 1940’s when Korea was under Japanese rule. Speaking the Korean language was banned at that time and two men from different backgrounds work together to publish a Korean dictionary.

The teaser poster also reveals that “Malmoi” is scheduled for release January, 2019 in Japan.

Trailer and main cast announced for movie “Twelve Children Who Want to Die”

Trailer and main cast announced for upcoming movie “Twelve Children Who Want to Die” (literal title). The movie is based on novel “Jyuni Nin no Shinitai Kodomotachi” by Tow Ubukata and directed by Yukihiko Tsutsumi (“20th Century Boys“). The twelve main cast members are Hana Sugisaki, Mackenyu Arata, Takumi Kitamura (member of ‘Dish’), Mahiro Takasugi, Yuina Kuroshima, Wariko Akika, Ai Yoshikawa, Riku Hagiwara, Yuto Fuchino, Ryota Bando, Kotone Furukawa and Aisa Takeuchi. The film follows 12 kids who gather at an abandoned hospital to die, but they find the body of a boy already dead there. They try to find the killer.

“Twelve Children Who Want to Die” will be released January 25, 2019.

Trailer for live-action film “The Island of Cats” starring Shinosuke TatekawaKou Shibasaki and Kaoru Kobayashi. Movie is based on manga series “Neko to Jiichan” by Nekomaki and directed by Mitsuaki Iwago. The film follows 70-year-old Daikichi and his beloved cat. He lives on a small island. Kou Shibasak plays Michiko. She runs a cafe on the island.

“The Island of Cats” will be released February 22, 2019 in Japan.

Shuhei Nomura and Hinako Sakurai cast in TV Asahi live-action drama series “I Give My First Love to You”

Shuhei Nomura and Hinako Sakurai are cast in TV Asahi live-action drama series “I Give My First Love to You” (literal title). The drama series is based on manga series “Boku no Hatsukoi wo Kimi ni Sasagu” by Kotomi Aoki. 2009 movie “I Give My First Love to You,” starring Mao Inoue and Masaki Okada,
is also based on the same manga series. Also cast in supporting roles for the drama series are Fumika Baba, Airi Matsui, Honoka Yahagi, Takumi Kizu, Kentaro Tomita, Riko Fukumoto, Hitomi Korenaga, Sei Matobu and Hikari Ishida. Story for the drama series follows the romance between Takuma Kakinouchi (Shuhei Nomura) and Mayu Taneda (Hinako Sakurai). They first met at the age of 8, when they were hospital patients. They meet again as high school students.

“I Give My First Love to You” first airs January, 2019 in Japan.

Teaser trailer #1 for SBS drama series “My Strange Hero”

Teaser trailer #1 added for upcoming SBS drama series “My Strange Hero” (literal title “Bok-Soo’s Back”) starring Yoo Seung-Ho and Jo Bo-Ah. The prior teasers were actually “pre-teasers” for the drama series. Teaser trailer #1 shows Kang Bok-Soo (Yoo Seung-Ho) returning into the life of teacher Son Soo-Jung (Jo Bo-Ah). She’s not sure how or when he came back.

“My Strange Hero” first airs December 10, 2018 in South Korea.
