Shim Eun-Kyung and Tori Matsuzaka are cast in movie “Newspaper Reporter” (literal title). The film is based on nonfiction book “Shinbun Kisha” by journalist Isoko Mochizuki and directed by Michihito Fujii. In the film, Shim Eun-Kyung will play a reporter investigating a potential government coverup. Tori Matsuzaka will play a government bureaucrat who clashes with the reporter.
“Newspaper Reporter” will be released sometime next year in Japan.
Trailer #2 for movie “Fortuna’s Eye” starring Ryunosuke Kamiki and Kasumi Arimura. Movie is based on novel “Forutuna no Hitomi” by Naoki Hyakuta (“The Eternal Zero“) and directed by Takahiro Miki. Trailer #2 features the movie’s theme song which is “In the Stars (feat. Kiiara)” by rock band “One Ok Rock.”

Shota Matsuda is cast in NTV drama series “Your Home is My Business! Counterattack” (literal title) starring Keiko Kitagawa. “Your Home is My Business! Counterattack” follows 2016 NTV drama series “Your Home is My Business!” and 2017 NTV drama special “Your Home is My Business! Returns.” For the drama series, Shota Matsuda will play new character Kenji Rusudo. He works as a real estate agent and is a rival of Machi Sangenya. Screenplay for the drama series is set after last year’s drama special which ended with Machi Sangenya (Keiko Kitagawa) proposing to Dai Yashiro (Toru Nakamura).
“Your Home is My Business! Counterattack” first airs January 9, 2019 in Japan.
Teaser trailer #3 added for upcoming SBS drama series “My Strange Hero” starring Yoo Seung-Ho and Jo Bo-Ah. Teaser trailer #3 begins with a voice over stating “Our classroom goddess, she is pretty today as always.” Jo Bo-Ah’s then states the name of “Kang Bok-Su” and Yoo Seung-Ho’s voice states “She is not pretty. If I had long hair like her, I would be prettier than her. She is two-faced.”

Haruka Fukuhara and Taiki Sato (‘EXILE’/‘FANTASTICS’) are cast for lead roles in live-action film “After-School Starlight” (“Shigatsu no Kimi, Supika”). The film is based on manga series “Shigatsu no Kimi, Supika” by Miwako Sugiyama and directed by Kentaro Otani (“Nana“). For “After-School Starlight,” Haruka Fukuhara will play first year high school student Sei Saotome and Taiki Sato will play high school student Taiyo Udagawa. They join the astronomy club.
Filming for “After-School Starlight” takes place in Chikuma in Nagano Prefecture, Japan and the movie will be released spring, 2019 in Japan.
Here’s a teaser poster for upcoming Netflix drama series “Kingdom” starring Ju Ji-Hoon, Bae Doo-Na and Ryoo Seung-Ryong. The teaser poster features Ju Ji-Hoon as Crown Prince Lee Chang. Caption on the teaser poster states “End of Joseon, the people who starve for blood wake up.” Story for the drama series revolves around zombies during the Joseon period.

Shun Oguri is cast in movie “No Longer Human” (literal title). Movie is based on the life famous writer Osamu Dazai and directed by Mika Ninagawa (“Sakuran“). For the film, Shun Oguri will play novelist Osamu Dazai. His novel “Ningen Shikkaku” became a best seller during post war Japan. His body and that of his lover Tomie Yamazaki were found drowned in a Tokyo canal on June 19, 1948. Filming for the movie is ongoing and will finish mid-December, 2018.

First teaser trailer added for tvN drama series “The Crowned Clown” (English title) starring Yeo Jin-Goo and Lee Se-Young. The upcoming drama series is a remake of 2012 movie “Masquerade” starring Lee Byung-Hun in the dual roles of the King and a clown. Meanwhile, still images below is of Lee Se-Young as Queen Yoo So-Woon in the drama series.
Teaser trailer #1 also reveals that “The Crowned Clown” will first air January 7, 2019 in South Korea (takes over tvN’s Monday and Tuesday 9:30 PM time slot after “Mama Fairy and the Woodcutter“).
Trailer added for upcoming live-action film “Chiwawa” starring Mugi Kadowaki and Ryo Narita. Movie is based onmanga “Chiwawa-chan” by Kyoko Okazaki and directed by Ken Ninomiya (“The Limit of Sleeping Beauty“). At the 22 second mark in the trailer, Shiori Yoshida (who plays Chiwawa) says “I will absolutely become big someday.”
“Chiwawa” will be released January 18, 2018 in Japan.
