Ryoo Hyoun-Kyoung & Oh Jung-Se cast in tvN Drama Stage “My Husband Has Kim Hee-Seon”

Ryoo Hyoun-Kyoung and Oh Jung-Se are cast in tvN Drama Stage special “My Husband Has Kim Hee-Seon” (literal title). The 1 episode drama special is installment #6 in the 2020 tvN Drama Stage series. The drama special will also have a cameo appearance by Kim Hee-Seon playing herself.

Plot synopsis by AsianWiki: Kim Jin-Mook (Oh Jung-Se) and Choi So-Hae (Ryoo Hyoun-Kyoung) have been married for 8 years and they have a 7-year-old son. Kim Jin-Mook is a huge fan of actress Kim Hee-Seon (Kim Hee-Seon). Kim Jin-Mook begins to receive calls from someone named Kim Hee-Seon. Choi So-Hae wonders if her husband is having an affair and even their 7-year-old son leaves home to find Kim Hee-Seon.

Kenta Kiritani & Masahiro Higashide cast in TV Asahi drama series “The Detective and The Prosecutor”

Kenta Kiritani and Masahiro Higashide are cast for lead roles in TV Asahi drama series “The Detective and The Prosecutor” (literal title of “Keiji to Kenji: Shokatsu to Chiken no 24ji”). The drama series has an original screenplay scripted by Yasushi Fukuda (“DOCTORS: The Ultimate Surgeon“) and will be directed by Keita Motohashi & Takuro Oikawa. The drama series will have Kenta Kiritani playing Detective Gota Nakaido and Masahiro Higashide playing Prosecutor Shuhei Majima.

Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: Gota Nakaido (Kenta Kiritani) is a detective at the Kanagawa Prefectural Police Station. Shuhei Majima (Masahiro Higashide) is a prosecutor in the Yokohama District Prosecutors’ Office in Kanagawa Prefecture.

Gota Nakaido is the kind of detective who tries to catch criminals as hard as he can and he wants to be thanked by the victims. Shuhei Majima believes social justice is to gain convictions for criminals. These two men, who are righteous and enthusiastic about their jobs, face various cases and work together to solve them.

Ep.1 air date & first script reading for tvN drama series “Money Game”

Ep.1 air date for tvN drama series “Money Game,” starring Ko Soo, Lee Sung-Min, & Shim Eun-Kyung, is now set for January, 2020. The drama series will slot into tvN’s Wednesday & Thursday 9:30PM time slot after “Psychopath Diary.” Meanwhile, announcement of the first script reading was released today, which took place several months ago. Attending the first script reading were main cast members Ko Soo, Lee Sung-Min, Shim Eun-Kyung, Yoo Teo, Jeong Dong-Hwan, Choi Woong, Choi Byung-Mo, Bang Eun-Hee, Jo Jae-Ryong, Kim Jung-Pal, Choi Duk-Moon, and Oh Ryong.

Actor Cha In-Ha found deceased today

According to the South Korean police, actor Cha In-Ha was found deceased today December 3, 2019 at his home. His body was found by his manager. Cha In-Ha’s exact cause of death has not yet been revealed. Cha In-Ha was appearing in currently airing MBC drama series “Love With Flaws” as major supporting character Joo Won-Suk. Cha In-Ha was 27 years of age before passing away.

Main trailer & poster for movie “Forbidden Dream”

Main trailer and poster for movie “Forbidden Dream” starring Choi Min-Sik & Han Suk-Kyu. The main trailer begins with Han Suk-Kyu’s voice as King Sejong and he states in Korean “You made time for Joseon and open the sky of Joseon.” He is referring to historical figure Jang Yeong-Sil played by Choi Min-Sik. The film reunites Choi Min-Sik and Han Suk-Kyu, who last appeared together 20 years ago in action blockbuster film “Shiri.”

“Forbidden Dream” will be released sometime this December in South Korea.

Mizuki Yamamoto cast for in NTV-YTV drama series “Lunch Matchmaking Private Detective”

Mizuki Yamamoto is cast for the lead role in NTV-YTV drama series “Lunch Matchmaking Private Detective” (literal title). The drama series is based on 2014 novel “Kiroi Jou” by Hiromi Mizuki. Also cast in major supporting character roles are Reina Triendl, Yuichi Kimura and Toshiki Seto. For the drama series, Mizuki Yamamoto cut her hair 35 cm. (14 in.) to play the main character of Yuika Amano. She’s an amateur sleuth who tries to solve mysteries during matchmaking luncheons.

“Lunch Matchmaking Private Detective” will consist of 10 episodes and first airs January 9, 2020 in Japan (takes over NTV-YTV’s Friday midnight time slot after “Trap the Con Man“).

First script reading for tvN drama series “Wise Doctor Life”

First script reading for tvN drama series “Wise Doctor Life” (literal title) took place recently in South Korea. Main cast members including Cho Jung-Seok, Kim Dae-Myung, Jung Kyoung-Ho, Yoo Yeon-Seok, Jeon Mi-Do, Kim Hae-Sook, Shin Hyun-Bin, Jung Moon-Sung, Kim Joon-Han, Kim Soo-Jin, and Ahn Eun-Jin all attended. Prior to the first script reading announcement, Kim Dae-Myung, Jung Kyoung-Ho, Yoo Yeon-Seok and Jeon Mi-Do were all considering offers to play characters in the drama series and they are now cast in the drama series. In the drama series, Cho Jung-Seok, Kim Dae-Myung, Jung Kyoung-Ho, Yoo Yeon-Seok and Jeon Mi-Do play characters who all entered the same medical university in 199. They are all friends and work together in the same hospital. The drama series is directed by Shin Won-Ho and scripted by Lee Woo-Jung who worked together in “Reply 1997,” “Reply 1994” and “Reply 1988.”

“Wise Doctor Life” first airs sometime next year in South Korea.

Yuriko Yoshitaka cast in NTV drama series “No Need To Know”

Yuriko Yoshitaka is cast in new NTV drama series “No Need To Know” (literal title of “Shiranakute Ii Koto”). The drama series features an original screenplay by Renpei Tsukamoto (“Bento Harassment“) and directed by Shunsuke Kariyama (“Humanoid Monster, Bem“). For the drama series Yuriko Yoshitaka plays reporter Keito Makabe. She gets a clue about her father from her mother, right before she passes away.

She watches out for the next big scoop. Keito is also rich and enjoys her work, as well as her love life. One day, Keito’s mother suddenly dies. Anna was a single mother who raised Keito alone. She worked as a movie critic. Right before her death, Anna mentioned something about Keito’s father. The name she mentioned is that of a Hollywood star.

Mana Ashida cast in movie “Child of the Stars”

Mana Ashida is cast for the lead role in movie “Child of the Stars” (literal title). The film is based on 2017 novel “Hoshi no Ko” by Natsuko Imamura and directed by Tatsushi Omori (“Tada’s Do-It-All House“). For the film, Mana Ashida will play young teen Chihiro.

Plot synopsis from AsianWiki: When Chihiro (Mana Ashida) was a baby, she suffered from eczema. Her parents tried to find a cure, but nothing worked. Her father’s co-worker then gave him some water from a strange religious group. Chihiro was miraculously cured by the water. Her parents began to follow the strange religion and became fervent followers. Chihiro is now in the 3rd grade of middle school and she faces changes in her life.

Filming for “Child of the Stars” takes place from December, 2019 to January, 2020. “Child of the Stars” is expected to be released sometime later in 2020.
