English subtitled trailer added for movie “The Man Standing Next” starring Lee Byung-Hun, Lee Sung-Min & Kwak Do-Won. Movie is directed by Woo Min-Ho (“Inside Men“). The film is set in the 1970’s and follows Korean Central Intelligence Agency Director Kim Kyu-Pyeong (Lee Byung-Hun) as he tries to stop the previous KCIA director from ratting out the Korean government to the U.S. and the eventual assassination of the South Korean President. Shin Ha-Kyun & Jung So-Min cast in KBS2 drama series “Soul Repairer”

Shin Ha-Kyun & Jung So-Min are cast in KBS2 drama series “Soul Repairer” (literal title). The drama series follows psychiatrists and their patients. Shin Ha-Kyun will play Psychiatrist Lee Shi-Joon. Jung So-Min will play rising musical actress star Han Woo-Joo. The drama series will be directed by Yoo Hyun-Ki (worked with Shin Ha-Kyun previously in 2011 KBS2 drama series “Brain“) and scripted by Lee Hyang-Hee (“My Lawyer, Mr. Joe“).

Bae Doo-Na cast in tvN drama series “Stranger Season 2”

According to tvN, Bae Doo-Na is now cast in tvN drama series “Stranger Season 2” co-starring Cho Seung-Woo. The duo will reprise their respective lead roles from season 1 of “Stranger.” Most the supporting cast from season 1 will also return for season 2, but specific names were not mentioned.

Brief plot synopsis from AsianWiki: Prosecutor Hwang Shi-Mok (Cho Seung-Woo) received a demotion and now works at the district prosecutor’s office in Tongyeong.

“Stranger Season 2” will air sometime next year in South Korea.

Shiori Akita cast in MBS drama series “Homeroom”

Shiori Akita is cast for the lead female role in MBS drama series “Homeroom” co-starring Yuki Yamada. The drama series is based on webcomic “Homeroom” by Chiyo. For “Homeroom,” Shiori Akita will play Sachiko Sakurai. She is diligent student, but endures unpleasant things everyday at school. Coincidentally, her teacher (Yuki Yamada) is always there to save her.

“Homeroom” will first air January 23, 2020 in Japan.

Park Bo-Gum offered lead male role in tvN drama series “Youth Record”

According to his talent agency Bloom Entertainment, Park Bo-Gum has been offered the lead male role in tvN drama series “Youth Record” (literal title). Actress Park So-Dam has already received an offer to play the lead female role. Currently, both performers are considering their offers. The drama series will follow youths trying to find success in the field of modeling.

The drama series will be directed by Ahn Gil-Ho and scripted by Ha Myung-Hee. Ahn Gil-Ho has directed tvN drama series “Memories of the Alhambra” and “Stranger,” while Ha Myung-Hee’s credits include SBS drama series “Doctors” and “Temperature of Love.”

First script reading for MBC drama series “The Game: Towards Zero”

First script reading for MBC drama series “The Game: Towards Zero” (literal title), starring TaecYeon, Lee Yeon-Hee, and Lim Ju-Hwan, took place recently at MBC Broadcasting Station in Sangam, South Korea. Main cast members that attended the first script reading included TaecYeon, Lee Yeon-Hee, Lim Ju-Hwan, Jeong Dong-Hwan, Park Ji-Il, Park Won-Sang, Jang So-Yeon, Choi Jae-Woong, Ryoo Hye-Rin, Shin Sung-Min and Yang Hyun-Min. Director Jang Joon-Ho and screenwriter Lee Ji-Hyo were also in attendance. Director Jang Joon-Ho stated at the script reading that after seeing everyone in the room together, he feels confident about the show’s success. The drama series will revolved around Prophet Kim Tae-Pyeong (TaecYeon ) and Detective Seo Joon-Young (Lee Yeon-Hee). They search for the truth behind a serial murderer.

“The Game: Towards Zero” is set to first air January 22, 2020 in South Korea (takes over MBC’s Wednesday & Thursday 9PM time slot after “Love With Flaws“).

Main trailer and poster added for movie “The Phone of The Wind” starring Serena Motola, Hidetoshi Nishijima, & Tomokazu Miura. Movie is inspired by the true story of a man who placed a telephone booth in his garden. The location became a destination for those grieving over lost ones from the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami. The screenplay follows young woman Haru (Serena Motola) as she travels from Hiroshima to Iwate Prefecture. It’s 8 years after she lost her family in the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami.
