Lee Na-Eun dropped from SBS drama “Taxi Driver”

Lee Na-Eun from idol group “April” is dropped from upcoming SBS drama series “Taxi Driver” due to bullying accusations made against her. Le Na-Eun was cast to play major supporting character Go Eun in the drama series, but, according to production company StudioS, Lee Na-Eun has dropped out of the drama series. About 60% of the filming for the drama series has already completed. As soon as a new actress is cast to play Go Eun, she will refilm all scenes of Go Eun that was already filmed by Lee Na-Eun. Taxi driver stars Lee Je-Hoon & Esom.

Lee Na-Eun’s departure from the drama series was caused by an online post, that was made on February 28, 2021, via online community website Nate Pann. In that post, the younger brother of ex-April member Lee Hyun-Joo accused the other group members of bullying his sister

Meanwhile, “Taxi Driver” is still tentatively scheduled to air from April 9, 2021 in South Korea.

Kento Nakajima & Honoka Matsumoto cast in movie “My Dearest, Like A Cherry Blossom”

Kento Nakajima (‘Sexy Zone’) and Honoka Matsumoto are cast in Netflix movie “My Dearest, Like A Cherry Blossom” (working title). The film is based on novel “Sakura no Yona Boku no Koibito” by Keisuke Uyama (“Color Me True“) and directed by Yoshihiro Fukagawa (“Restaurant From The Sky“).

“My Dearest, Like A Cherry Blossom” will be released sometime next year on Netflix.

Teaser trailer for MBN drama “Bossam: Steal the Fate”

First teaser trailer added for MBN drama series “Bossam: Steal the Fate” (literal title) starring Jung Il-Woo & Kwon Yuri. Teaser trailer #1 shows Ba-Woo’s (Jung Il-Woo) getting into big trouble after he mistakenly kidnaps Princess Soo-Kyung (Kwon Yuri) as a bossam. Even more trouble for Ba-Woo, Prince Gwanghae (Kim Tae-Woo) orders Lee Yi-Cheom (Lee Jae-Yong) to bring Soo-Kyung to the palace.

“Bossam: Steal the Fate” first airs May, 2021 in South Korea.

Hidetoshi Nishijima cast in TV Tokyo drama “Chef Is A Great Detective”

Hidetoshi Nishijima is cast for the lead role in TV Tokyo drama series “Chef Is A Great Detective” (literal title). The drama series is based on 3 novels by Fumie Kondo and directed by Hisashi KimuraYusuke Taki. In the drama series, Hidetoshi Nishijima will play Shinobu Mifune. He is a chef and a detective.

“Chef Is A Great Detective” will air late this year in TV Tokyo’s Monday 11PM time slot.

Na In-Woo offered lead male role in KBS2 drama “River Where The Moon Rises”

Cube Entertainment has revealed that Na In-Woo has been offered the lead male role in currently airing KBS2 drama series “River Where The Moon Rises” co-starring Kim So-Hyun. Na In-Woo would replace actor Ji Soo and play lead male character On Dal. Currently, Na In-Woo is “positively considering” the offer.

Broadcast station KBS has not officially announced that actor Ji Soo has dropped out of the drama series, but, with Cube Entertainment’s announcement, his departure seems all but certain. The drama series itself has already filmed 95% of its scenes and 6 episodes has already aired, yet KBS is working hard behind the scenes to prepare for the lead actor’s replacement. Ji Soo’s departure is caused by bullying accusations first made against him on March 2, 2021 via online community website Nate Pann. The accuser wrote Ji Soo was a member of a bully group in middle school that bullied him with physical and verbal violence. More people responded with similar accusations against Ji Soo for his past bullying behavior. On March 4, 2021, Ji Soo posted a handwritten apology in which he apologized to the people that suffered from his actions and admitted his past behavior was inexcusable.

Kim Nam-Gil cast in OCN drama “Island”

Kim Nam-Gil is cast for the lead role in OCN drama series “Island.” He is the first confirmed cast member announced for the drama series. Actress Seo Yea-Ji has received an offer to play the lead female role and she is still considering that offer. Actor Cha Eun-Woo has also received an offer to play a major supporting character role and he is still considering that offer. For “Island,” Kim Nam-Gil plays Ban. He protects the world from ghosts. He is himself half human and half ghost. He has two different sides, one is a warm person and the other is a cool headed person.

“Island” will first air second half, 2021 in South Korea.
