Ji Jin-Hee, Yoon Se-Ah, & Kim Hye-Eun are cast in tvN drama series “The Road: Tragedy of One” (literal title). The drama series is set exclusive “Royal at the Hill,” where only the top 1%ers live. Ji Jin-Hee and Yoon Se-Ah will play a married couple. Kim Hye-Eun will play TV Announcer Cha Seo-Young.
“The Road: Tragedy of One” will first air sometime in the second half of this year.

Lee Ha-Na and Song Seung-Heon are cast in OCN drama series “Voice 4.” The drama series is a continuation of the Voice drama series that first began in 2017. Lee Ha-Na will reprise her character of Kang Kwon-Joo. She works as the team leader of the 112 emergency call center. Meanwhile, Song Seung-Heon will play new character Derek Jo. He worked for the LAPD in Los Angeles, before coming to South Korea and teaming up with Kang Kwon-Joo.

Ruka Ishikawa and Yuzu Aoki are cast the lead roles live-action film “A Girl on the Shore” (literal title). The film is based on manga series “Umibe no Onnanoko” by Inio Asano (“Solanin“) and directed by Atsushi Ueda (“School Girl’s Gestation“). The film is set in a small town on the shore and follows two teens who enter into a casual relationship.
“A Girl on the Shore” will be released August 20, 2021 in Japan.

Trailer and two posters added for movie “Itomichi” starring Ren Komai & Etsushi Toyokawa. Movie is based on 2011 novel “Itomichi” by Osamu Koshigaya and directed by Satoko Yokohama (“Bare Essence of Life“). The trailer also features inset song “Eden no Shoujyo” by rock band Ningen Isu.
“Itomichi” will be released June 25, 2021 in Japan.

Haru Kuroki and Tasuku Emoto are cast in movie “Teacher, Please Sit Next to Me” (literal title of “Sensei, Watashi no Tonari ni Suwatte Itadakemasenka”). The movie is written and directed by Takahiro Horie. The movie will have Haru Kuroki and Tasuku Emoto playing manga artists and husband and wife. The wife begins to write a new manga dealing with adultery.

SBS has decided to cancel their drama series “Joseon Exorcist,” starring Kam Woo-Sung & Jang Dong-Yoon, after airing just the first two episodes. About 80% of filming for the drama series has already finished and SBS has already paid for most of the broadcasting rights. Nevertheless, the decision to cancel the drama series was made after heavy criticism was thrown on the first two episodes of the drama series by the Korean audience. The criticism was for the blending of real historical figures and its fictional story, combined with the heavy use of Chinese cultural items like food, clothing, architecture, and music as backdrops for the first two episodes. Due to the public uproar most advertisers had already dropped the drama series.
SBS has not stated what will follow the now cancelled “Joseon Exorcist.”
Mokomichi Hayami and Yumi Wakatsuki are cast in ABC-tvk drama series “There Is A Reason Why You Cannot Get Married” (literal title). The drama series is based on webcomic “Kekkon Dekinai ni wa Wake ga Aru” by Murasaki. Yumi Wakatsuki will play Mariko Goto. She wants to get married before the ago of 30 and finds her ideal man in her co-worker Mitsuo Tomizawa (Mokomichi Hayami). He has a secret.

Yoo Jae-Myung, Han Ye-Ri, & Um Tae-Goo are cast in OCN drama series “Hometown.” The drama series is a mystery-thriller and set in the year 1999. All three performers will play characters who are related to a terrorist attack that took place ten years earlier.
