Sakura Ando cast in NHK drama “The Long Way Home”

Sakura Ando is cast for the lead role in NHK drama series “The Long Way Home.” The drama series is based on 2012 novel “Tabiya Okaeri” by Maha Harada (“First Gentleman“) and directed by Yoshio Watanabe. Also cast for the drama series are Hidekazu Mashima, Masanobu Katsumura, Jun Miho, and Tetsuya Takeda. Sakura Ando will play main character Erika Oka. She is a struggling entertainer in her 30’s and she loves to travel.

“The Long Way Home” will consist of 4 episodes and first air January, 2022 in Japan.

Teaser trailer 2 for KBS2 drama “Youth of May”

Teaser trailer 2 added for KBS2 drama series “Youth of May” (literal title) starring Lee Do-Hyun & Go Min-Si. Teaser trailer 2 shows Hwang Hee-Tae (Lee Do-Hyun) writing a postcard to Kim Myung-Hee (Go Min-Si). The postcard states “When I think of you, it turns into music. There is a song that I want to play for you. At night on May 3rd, I will wait there,” while Kim Myung-Hee reads the postcard with a smile on his face. Gunfire then erupts.

“Youth of May” will first air May 3, 2021 in South Korea.

Teaser trailer and teaser poster for movie “The Blood of Wolves Level 2” starring Tori Matsuzaka. Caption on the teaser poster asks “Is this man a detective or the grim reaper?” Movie is the sequel to 2018 movie “The Blood of Wolves” and again directed by Kazuya Shiraishi. 9 new cast members has also been announced for the sequel film: Kiyohiko Shibukawa, Katsuya Maiguma, Miwako Kakei, Sho Aoyagi, Hiroki Miyake, Yoshiko Miyazaki, Susumu Terajima, Takashi Ukaji and Rino Katase.  

“The Blood of Wolves Level 2” will be released August 20, 2021 in Japan.

Teaser poster & release date for movie “Aloners”

Teaser poster and May, 2021 release date set for movie “Aloners” starring Gong Seung-Yeon. For Gong Seung-Yeon, “Aloners” is her movie acting debut after appearing in numerous drama series. “Aloners” will also make its world premiere at the upcoming 22nd Jeonju International Film Festival, which will be held April 29-May 8, 2021. The movie will compete in the “Korean Competition” section.

Yoon Kye-Sang cast in drama “Crime Puzzle”

Yoon Kye-Sang is cast in drama series “Crime Puzzle.” Around April, 2020, Park Hae-Jin was first announced to play the lead male role, but he has since dropped out of the drama series for unstated reasons. Yoon Kye-Sang will now play the lead male character role of Han Seung-Min. He was once a popular professor at the police university and well known forensic psychologist, but he is now serving a life sentence in prison. The drama series is based on webcomic “Crime Puzzle” by Meen.

“Crime Puzzle” is tentatively scheduled to air in the second half of this year. The drama series was originally scheduled to air sometime in the second half of last year.

JR cast in drama “I Will Be Your Night”

JR (NU’EST) is cast in drama series “I Will Be Your Night” (literal title). JR is set to make his drama series acting debut and will play supporting character Lee Shin. His character is a member of idol group LUNA and plays the bass. He seems free spirited, but he devotes himself to a woman in love. The drama series revolves around a member of the idol group who suffers from sleepwalking.

Filming for “I Will Be Your Night” will begin May, 2021 and the drama series will air sometime in the second half of this year.

Ep.1 air date for MBC drama “Got A Goal”

Ep.1 air date for MBC drama series “Got A Goal,” starring Kim Hwan-Hee & Ryu Soo-Young, is now set for May 19, 2021 in South Korea. The drama series will move into MBC’s Wednesday & Thursday 9:20 PM time slot after “Oh! Master” and will consist of 4 total episodes. The script revolves around 19-year-old Lee So-Hyun (Kim Hwan-Hee). She dreams of getting revenge on people she believes is responsible for her misery and her first target is her own father. Trailer & poster for movie “Tomorrow’s Dinner Table”

Trailer and poster added for movie “Tomorrow’s Dinner Table” starring Miho Kanno, Mitsuki Takahata, & Machiko Ono. After the first scene flashes a woman sitting behind glass (presumably the visiting room of a prison), the trailer shows three mothers raising their sons. Each of the mothers has a son named Yu. The trailer then cuts to a far darker tone with narration that states “One day, one Yu was murdered by his mother.” Movie is based on 2016 novel “Ashita no Shokutaku” by Michiko Yazuki and directed by Takahisa Zeze.

“Tomorrow’s Dinner Table” will be released May 28, 2021 in Japan.

Tanaka, and Satomi Ishihara are cast in movie “And, the Baton Was Passed”

Mei Nagano, Kei Tanaka, and Satomi Ishihara are cast in movie “And, the Baton Was Passed” (literal title). The film is based on 2018 novel “Soshite, Baton wa Watasareta” by Maiko Seo and directed by Tetsu Maeda. This is the fourth film adapted from a novel by Maiko Seo after 2007 “Happy Dining Table,” 2008 “Faraway Heaven,” and 2017 “Our Meal For Tomorrow.” Filming for the movie began late October, 2020 and finished November, 2020.

“And, the Baton Was Passed” will be released October 29, 2021 in Japan.
