Nobuyuki Suzuki & Atsuhiro Inukai cast in NTV drama series “Kei x Yaku”

Nobuyuki Suzuki and Atsuhiro Inukai are cast in NTV-YTV drama series “Kei x Yaku.” The drama series is based on “Kei x Yaku: Abunai Aibou” by Yoshie Kaoruhara. For the drama series, Nobuyuki Suzuki will play main character Ichiro Kunishita. He is a police officer who teams up with a yakuza boss played by Atsuhiro Inukai. They pretend to be lovers, while they try to find the truth behind the disappearance of Ichiro Kunishita’s colleague, who is also the older brother of the yakuza boss.

“Kei x Yaku” first airs January 13, 2022.

Teaser trailer for tvN drama “Bad and Crazy”

First teaser trailer added for tvN drama series “Bad and Crazy” starring Lee Dong-Wook & Wi Ha-Joon. The teaser trailer shows the concept behind the two main characters of Soo-Yeol (Lee Dong-Wook) and K (Wi Ha-Joon). Soo-Yeol is the “bad” and K is the “crazy.” Below are the first still images of Lee Dong-Wook and Wi Ha-Joon in the drama series.

“Bad and Crazy” first airs December 17, 2021  in South Korea (takes over tvN’s Friday and Saturday 10:40 PM time slot after “Happiness“).

Ryo Narita cast in NTV drama “Touboui F”

Ryo Narita is cast in NTV live-action drama series “Touboui F.” The drama series is based on manga series “Touboui F” by Keigo Izuki. For the drama series, Ryo Narita will play neurosurgeon Keisuke Fujiki. He becomes a murder suspect and becomes a fugitive.

“Touboui F” first airs January, 2022 in Japan.

Hideaki Ito cast in live-action film “Kappei”

Hideaki Ito is cast for the lead role in live-action film “Kappei.” The movie is based on manga series “Kappei” by Kiminori Wakasugi (“Detroit Metal City“). Also cast for the movie are Moka Kamishiraishi, Daigo Nishihata, Yusuke Onuki, Koji Yamamoto, Yukiyoshi Ozawa, & Arata Furuta. Filming for the movie took place from May to June, 2021. The first teaser trailer has also been released and can be viewed at AsianWiki.

“Kappei” will be released March 18, 2022 in Japan.

Trailer & poster for movie “The Midnight Maiden War”

Trailer and poster added for movie “The Midnight Maiden War” starring Ren Nagase & Elaiza Ikeda. Movie is based on 2018 novel “Mayonaka Otome Senso” by F. The movie’s theme song has also been revealed, which is “Happier Than Ever” by Billie Eilish. The theme song is played in the main trailer. Billie Eilish also appears in the beginning of the trailer, introducing her song as the movie’s theme song.

Release date for “The Midnight Maiden War” is now set for January 21, 2022 in Japan.

Seo In-Guk & Oh Yeon-Seo cast in KBS2 drama “Minamdang”

Seo In-Guk and Oh Yeon-Seo are cast in KBS2 drama series “Minamdang.” The drama series is based on 2018 novel “Minamdang Sagun Soochub” by Jung Jae-Han. For “Minamdang,” Seo In-Guk will play former criminal profiler Nam Han-Joon, who now dresses up as a fortune teller and runs scams. Oh Yeon-Seo will play Han Jae-Hee. She works as a detective. 

“Minamdang” first airs sometime in the first half of 2022.

Nozomu Kotaki cast in TV Asahi drama “Rokuhodo Yotsuiro Biyori”

Nozomu Kotaki (Johnny’s West) is cast in TV Asahi live-action drama series “Rokuhodo Yotsuiro Biyori.” The drama series is based on the manga series of same name by Yu Shimizu. The screenplay will have Nozomu Kotaki play traditional cafe proprietor Kyosui Togoku. Along with his 3 coworkers, Kyosui Togoku provides comfort to his customers while serving them meals and drinks.

“Rokuhodo Yotsuiro Biyori” will first air January, 2022 in Japan (takes over TV Asahi’s Saturday 11:30 PM time slot after the conclusion of “Vanishing My First Love“).
