Main trailer & poster for movie “The Last 10 Years”

Main trailer and poster added for movie “The Last 10 Years” starring Nana Komatsu & Kentaro Sakaguchi. Movie is based on novel “Yomei 10 Nen” by Ruka Kosaka and directed by Michihito Fujii (“The Journalist“). The movie’s theme song has also been revealed, which is “Uruubito” by rock band Radwimps. That track is featured in the main trailer as well. Lastly, supporting cast members has been announced for the film and they are Yuki Yamada, NaoSatoru IguchiHaru KurokiTetsushi TanakaLily FrankyHideko Hara, and Yutaka Matsushige.

“The Last 10 Years” will be released March 4, 2022 in Japan.

Release date for “Emergency Declaration” postponed

Movie distributor Showbox has decided to postpone the release of movie “Emergency Declaration” due to Covid-19 concerns and its prevention. The film already had its world premiere in the Out of Competition section at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival. The disaster film is directed by Han Jae-Rim (“The Face Reader“) and features an impressive cast including Song Kang-Ho, Lee Byung-Hun, Jeon Do-Yeon, Kim Nam-Gil, & Im Si-Wan. The screenplay depicts a bioterrorist attack on an airplane en route to Hawaii.

Main cast returns in TVING drama “Work Later, Drink Now Season 2”

TVING announces that sequel drama series “Work Later, Drink Now Season 2” will be produced, with Lee Sun-BinHan Sun-HwaJung Eun-Ji, and Choi Si-Won all returning to play their respective lead characters. The first season of “Work Later, Drink Now” streamed on TVING from October 22 – November 26, 2021. The script featured three close female friends who all love to drink alcohol and depicts problems they face in life, often in humorous ways. Choi Si-Won plays a TV producer at TVING and co-worker of the character played by Lee Sun-Bin.

Release date for the sequel drama series has not yet been revealed.

Ahn Bo-Hyun cast in movie “2 O’clock Date”

Actor Ahn Bo-Hyun is cast for the lead male role in movie “2 O’clock Date” (literal title) co-starring Lim Yoon-A. Ahn Bo-Hyun replaces Kim Sun-Ho, who was first cast to play the lead male character, but he dropped out after a scandal ensued with an ex-girlfriend. Movie “2 O’clock Date” is directed by Lee Sang-Geun, who previously worked with Lim Yoon-A in movie “Exit.”

Filming for “2 O’clock Date” is now scheduled to start April, 2022.

Fuju Kamio &Nanase Nishino cast in movie “Koi wa Hikari”

Fuju Kamio and Nanase Nishino are cast for lead roles in live-action film “Koi wa Hikari.” Also cast in major supproting character roles are Yuna Taira and Fumika Baba. The film is based on manga series “Koi wa Hikari” by Akieda and directed by Keiichi Kobayashi (“He Won’t Kill, She Won’t Die“). For the film, Fuju Kamio will play university student Saijo and Nanase Nishino will play university student Kitashiro, who has been friends with Saijo since they were children. Saijo has an unusual special ability to see sparkles around a woman that is in love.

“Koi wa Hikari” will be released sometime next year in Japan.

Netflix to stream sequel drama “D.P. Season 2”

Netflix announces sequel drama series “D.P. Season 2” and launching teaser trailer added. The drama series follows “D.P. ” season 1, which premiered August 27, 2021. The launching teaser trailer for the sequel drama series has Koo Gyo-Hwan as Han Ho-Yeol asking (0:07) “What are you doing? Am I going by myself?” and Jung Hae-In as An Jun-Ho responds (0:10) “No.” “D.P. Season 2” will be scripted & directed by Han Jun-Hee, who also did the same for the first season of “D.P.” Casting has not yet been announced, but the teaser trailer does imply that Jung Hae-In and Koo Gyo-Hwan will return for their lead characters roles.

“D.P. Season 2” will be available to stream sometime next year.

Kanata Hosoda cast in TV Asahi drama “What If There Were a High School for Ikemen Only.”

Kanata Hosoda is cast for the lead role in TV Asahi drama series “What If There Were a High School for Ikemen Only.” Also cast in the drama series are Ryubi Miyase, Taiyu Fujiwara, Sakura Endo, Rintaro Mizusawa, Shuichiro Naito & Yoshiki Fujieda. The drama series is set at a high school that has an unusually high proportion of attractive young men. This is due to the school’s desire to win the national high school ikemen (‘good looking men’) contest.

“What If There Were a High School for Ikemen Only” will first air  January 15, 2022 in Japan (takes over TV Asahi’s Saturday 11 PM time slot after “Kotodamasou“).
