Kim Woo-Bin, Esom, & Kang You-Seok cast in Netflix drama “Black Knight”

Kim Woo-Bin, Esom, and Kang You-Seok are cast in Netflix drama series “Black Knight.” The drama series is based on webcomic “Taekbaegisa” by Lee Yoon-Kyun and directed by Cho Ui-Seok. Director Cho Ui-Seok and actor Kim Woo-Bin previously worked together for 2016 movie “Master.” The drama series is set in a dystopian future, where people rarely leave their homes due to air pollution. Society has come to rely on delivery drivers known as knights to receive basic supplies.

Streaming date for “Black Knight” has not yet been announced.

Lee Sang-Yeob cast in tvN drama “Eve”

Lee Sang-Yeob is cast in tvN drama series “Eve” co-starring Seo Yea-Ji. Lee Sang-Yeob will play lead male character Seo Eun-Pyeong. He helps Lee La-El (Seo Yea-Ji) take revenge on a person who destroyed her family. Seo Eun-Pyeong is now the youngest member of the national assembly.

“Eve” first airs sometime during the first half of this year in South Korea.

Park Se-Wan & Song Geon-Hee cast in Watcha drama “Ultimate Weapon Alice”

Park Se-Wan and Song Geon-Hee are cast in Watcha drama series “Ultimate Weapon Alice” (literal title). Also cast for supporting roles in the drama series are Kim Sung-Oh, Kim Tae-Hoon, Jung Seung-Gil, and Cha Joo-Young. For those outside of the South Korean market, Watcha is a mostly South Korean OTT service provider that streams movies and drama series. The drama series will have Park Se-Wan playing a high school student, who is also a killer.

“Ultimate Weapon Alice” will be available to stream sometime during the first half of this year.

Nana Mori & Natsuki Deguchi are cast in Netflix live-action drama series “The Makanai: Cooking for the Maiko House.” The drama series is based on manga series “Maiko-san Chi no Makanai-san” by Aiko Koyama and directed by Hirokazu Koreeda. Also cast in the drama series are Aju Makita, Keiko Matsuzaka, Ai Hashimoto, Mayu Matsuoka, & Takako Tokiwa. The drama series is set at a district in Gion, Kyoto, Japan, where geisha live and work.

“The Makanai: Cooking for the Maiko House” will stream on Netflix sometime this year.

English subtitled teaser trailer 2 added for Netflix drama series “All of Us Are Dead” starring Park Ji-Hoo, Yoon Chan-Young, & Cho Yi-Hyun. The drama series is based on webcomic “Jigeum Woori Hakkyoneun” by Joo Dong-Geun and set at a high school where high school students are trapped by a zombie outbreak. Above and below are still images of Park Ji-Hoo, Yoon Chan-Young, Cho Yi-Hyun, Park Solomon, Yoo In-Soo, and Lee Yoo-Mi in the drama series. They all play high school students at Hyosan High School where the zombie virus breaks out.

Jang Dong-Yoon & Nana cast in drama “My Man is Cupid”

Jang Dong-Yoon and Nana are cast for lead roles in drama series “My Man is Cupid” (literal title). The romance-fantasy script follows a cupid who shoots himself with an arrow and falls in love with a woman. Jang Dong-Yoon will play Cheon Sang-Hyeok. He is a cupid. Nana will play Oh Baek-Ryun. She works as a veterinarian and is seeking to find love.

“My Man is Cupid” will air sometime later this year, but which network has not yet been decided.

Disney+ to stream drama series “Casino”

For upcoming drama series “Casino,” starring Choi Min-Sik, Disney+ has picked up rights to stream the drama series in South Korea. The drama series features a crime-action script and revolves around a casino king. Kang Yoon-Sung (“The Outlaws“) wrote the screenplay and will also direct the drama series.

“Casino” will be released via Disney+ sometime later this year or in 2023.
