Kazuya Kamenashi cast in WOWOW drama “Game no Na wa Yukai”

Kazuya Kamenashi is cast in WOWOW drama series “Game no Na wa Yukai.” The drama series is based on mystery novel “Game no Na wa Yukai” by Keigo Higashino, which was previously adapted into 2003 movie “G@me” starring Naohito Fujiki and Yukie Nakama. In the WOWOW drama series version, Kazuya Kamenashi will play advertising company employee Shunsuke Sakuma. His ego takes a hit, when the vice president of a car company kicks him off a project that the ad company is working on. He gets a chance to get revenge when he meets the vice president’s daughter.

“Game no Na wa Yukai” will consist of 4 episodes and will air June, 2024 in Japan.

Teaser poster and release date for movie “Again 1997”

Teaser poster and release date set for upcoming time-travel movie “Again 1997” starring Joe Byeong-Gyu, Koo Jun-Hoe, and Choi Hui-Seung. The film’s main character Woo-Seok is played by Joe Byeong-Gyu in his high school days and Kim Da-Hyun in the present days. He is able to travel back in time to his high school and tries to change his present day life. Caption on the teaser poster states “Life-changing project … Again 1997…I want to go back.”

“Again 1997” will be released March, 2024 in South Korea.

Teaser poster and release date added for KBS2 drama series “Let Me Grab You by the Collar” (literal title) starring Kim Ha-Neul, Yeon Woo-Jin, & Jang Seung-Jo. The drama series, which is setup as a melodrama-chase-thriller, is now scheduled to first air March 18, 2024 in South Korea moving into KBS2’s Monday & Tuesday 10 PM time slot after “Love Song for Illusion.” Caption on the teaser poster states “The truth that has been ignored will definitely come back.”

Haruna Kawaguchi, Haruka Kinami, and Mei Hata are cast in TBS drama series “9 Border.” Haruna Kawaguchi will play lead character Nana Oba. She is the middle sister of three sisters. The oldest sister will be played by Haruka Kinami and the youngest sister played by Mei Hata. The drama series features an original screenplay that is a human love story. The three sisters begin to live under the same roof after their father disappears.

Hana Sugisaki cast in Fuji TV-KTV drama “Unmet”

Hana Sugisaki is cast in Fuji TV-KTV drama series “Unmet.” The live-action drama series is based on manga  “Unmet” by Yuzuru Kojika. The original author of the manga is a former brain surgeon and her experience in that field lays out the groundwork for screenplay. Hana Sugisaki will play Miyabi Kawauchi. She was a promising neurosurgeon, but she got into an accident that caused her to lose her memory. She then meets Tomoharu Sanpei, who is himself an eccentric neurosurgeon.

“Unmet” will first air April, 2024 in Japan (takes over Fuji TV’s Monday 10 PM time slot after “When Spring Comes“).

Disney+ to stream “The Tyrant”

Disney+ is now set to stream “The Tyrant,” starring Cha Seung-Won, Kim Sun-Ho, & Kim Kang-Woo, as a 4 episode drama series. The project was originally planned as a theatrical film, but during the editing process a decision was made to release it as a 4 episode drama series. The drama series is written and directed by Park Hoon-Jung (“The Witch: Part 1. The Subversion“). He recently stated that “The Tyrant” is a large scale story and shares a world view similar to his past film “The Witch.”

“The Tyrant” will be avaiable to stream sometime later this year.

Taiga Kyomoto and Momoko Tanabe are cast in Fuji TV-KTV drama series “Omukae Shibuya-kun.” The romantic-comedy drama series is based on manga “Omukae Shibuya-kun” by Makoto Mitsuno. For Taiga Kyomoto, who will appear in a Fuji TV-KTV drama series for the first time, he will play popular actor Taikai Shibuya. He begins to take his 4 year old sister to preschool. There he meets his sister’s teacher played by Momoko Tanabe.

Kaito Takahashi from “King & Prince” is cast in TV Tokyo drama series “95.” The drama series is based on novel “95” by Kazumasa Hayami (“Our Family“). This will also mark Kaito Takahashi’s first time appearing in a TV Tokyo drama series. For “95,” Kaito Takahashi will play Akihisa Hiroshige. Set in 1995, he begins to run with a group of teamers in Shibuya.

Eiji Akaso cast in Fuji TV drama “Re: Revenge.”

Eiji Akaso is cast for the lead role in Fuji TV drama series “Re: Revenge.” This will be Eiji Akaso’s first time starring in a drama series for Fuji TV. The drama series features an original suspense-revenge screenplay centered around a large hospital. Eiji Aksao will play Kaito Tendo. He is estranged from his father, who is the chairman and founder of the hospital. An incident leads Kaito Tendo to come back to the hospital and try to protect what his father built.

“Re: Revenge” will first air April 11, 2024 in Japan (takes over Fuji TV’s Thursday 10PM time slot after “Ooku: The Palace“).
