Taisuke Fujigaya & Nao cast in NTV drama series “Yameru Toki mo, Sukoyaka Naru Toki mo”

Taisuke Fujigaya (‘Kis-My-Ft.2’) and Nao are cast in NTV drama series “Yameru Toki mo, Sukoyaka Naru Toki mo.” The drama series is based on 2017 novel “Yameru Toki mo, Sukoyaka Naru Toki mo” by Misumi Kubo. Misumi Kubo also wrote the original novel that was adapted into 2012 feature film “The Cowards Who Looked To The Sky .” Story for “Yameru Toki mo, Sukoyaka Naru Toki mo” will follow two young people who carry internal wounds and decide to try find happiness together.

“Yameru Toki mo, Sukoyaka Naru Toki mo” first airs January 20, 2020 in Japan (takes over NTV’s Monday 1AM time slot after “Black School Rules“).

Main trailer for movie “Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku”

Main trailer for movie “Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku” starring Mitsuki Takahata and Kento Yamazaki. Movie is based on webcomic “Wotaku ni Koi ha Muzukashii” by Fujita. Meanwhile, famous Japanese music producer and composer Shiro Sagisu will take part in the film for its musical soundtrack. As a cherry on top, lead actors Mitsuki Takahata and Kento Yamazaki also perfroms a song for the movie and that song appears in the trailer.

“Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku” will be released February 7, 2020 in Japan.

Moka Kamishiraishi & Kanata Hosoda cast in live-action film “Kid Does Not Understand”

Moka Kamishiraishi  and Kanata Hosoda are cast in live-action film “Kid Does Not Understand” (literal title). The drama series is based on manga series “Kodomo wa Wakatte Agenai” by Retto Tajima and directed by Shuichi Okita (“The Mohican Comes Home“). The film will follow high school student Minami Sakuta (Moka Kamishiraishi) and her school mate Shohei Moji (Kanata Hosoda). They try to find Minami Sakuta’s birth father and also become first loves. Filming for the movie took place from July, 2019 to August, 2019. This is director’s Shuichi Okita’s first live-action action film adaptation.

“Kid Does Not Understand” will be released sometime during summer, 2020 in Japan.

Teaser trailer for movie “Mask Ward”

Teaser trailer added for movie “Mask Ward” (literal title) starring Kentaro Sakaguchi & Mei Nagano. Movie is based on 2014 novel “Kamen Byoto” by Mikito Chinen and directed by Hisashi Kimura (“Ninkyo Gakuen“). In addition four new supporting cast members has been announced for the film: Rio Uchida, Noriko Eguchi, Ryohei Otani, and Masanobu Takashima.  Rio Uchida and Noriko Eguchi will play nurses at the nursing hospital where a masked intruder takes them hostage. Ryohei Otani will play Doctor Tsukasa Kosakai and Masanobu Takashima will play Hospital Director Tadokoro.

“Mask Ward” will be released March 6, 2020 in Japan.

Teaser trailer and poster added for movie “Hokusai” starring Yuya Yagira, Min Tanaka and Hiroshi Abe. The film is based on the life of painter Hokusai Katsushika, known best for his landscape prints “Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji.” Caption on the teaser poster states in Japanese “Madness that stays on the brush.”

“Hokusai” will be released summer, 2020 in Japan.

Keiko Kitagawa cast in mystery film “First Love”

Keiko Kitagawa is cast in mystery film “First Love.” The film is based on novel “First Love” by Rio Shimamoto. This is Rio Shimamoto’s third novel to be adapted into a feature film, following 2017 movie “Narratage” and 2020 movie “Red.” Her novel “First Love” is the winner of the 159th Naoki Prize. Popular movie director Yukihiko Tsutsumi (“Trick: The Movie“) will helm the movie version. For the film, Keiko Kitagawa will play psychologist Yuki Makabe. She researches into a case where a university student girl murdered her father. Filming for “First Love” began October, 2019 and finishes mid-November, 2019. Shooting takes place in the Kanto area of Japan.

“First Love” will be released sometime during 2021 in Japan.

Koichi Sato, Yuriko Ishida, & Hidetoshi Nishijima cast in movie “Silent Tokyo: And So This Is Xmas”

Koichi Sato, Yuriko Ishida, and Hidetoshi Nishijima are cast in movie “Silent Tokyo: And So This Is Xmas.” The film is based on 2016 novel “And So This Is Xmas” by Takehiko Hata (“Unfair: The Movie“) and directed by Takafumi Hatano (“SP: The Motion Picture“). Story for the film is set on Christmas Eve where a series of bombings occur. Filming for the began on October 28, 2019. A movie set in Ashikaga, Tochigi Prefecture has been created to recreate the streets of Shibuya, Tokyo. About 10,000 extras are being used on that movie set.

“Silent Tokyo: And So This Is Xmas” will be released winter, 2020 in Japan.
