Masatoshi Nagase, Masataka Kubota & Sakurako Konishi cast in live-action film “Fancy”

Masatoshi Nagase, Masataka Kubota and Sakurako Konishi are cast in live-action film “Fancy.” The film is based on manga short story “Fancy” by Naoki Yamamoto and directed by Masaoki Hirota. The story revolves around a mailman (Masatoshi Nagase), a poet (Masataka Kubota) and the poet’s fan (Sakurako Konishi) who become involved in a war between the yakuza. The first teaser trailer for the film has also been added on AsianWiki.

“Fancy” will be released February 7, 2020 in Japan.

Trailer #2 for movie “Talking the Pictures”

Second trailer added for movie “Talking the Pictures” starring Ryo Narita, Yuina Kuroshima, Masatoshi Nagase and Kengo Kora. The film is written and directed by Masayuki Suo (“Shall We Dance?“). The period film revolves around a young man who hopes to become a narrator of silent films. “Talking the Pictures” will screen in the special section at the 2019 Tokyo International Film Festival and will have its general release December 13, 2019 in Japan.

Yoshihiko Inohara & Shunsuke Michieda cast in movie “461 Lunch Boxes”

Yoshihiko Inohara & Shunsuke Michieda are cast in movie “461 Lunch Boxes.” The film is based on an autobiographical story “461 Ko no Bento wa, Oyaji to Musuko no Otoko no Yakusoku” by Toshimi Watanabe  and directed by Atsushi Kaneshige. In the film “461 Lunch Boxes,” Yoshihiko Inohara will play divorced father Kazuki Suzumoto and Shunsuke Michieda will play his 15-year-old son. The father makes a promise to make a lunch set for his son everyday while he is in high school.

“461 Lunch Boxes” will be released autumn, 2020 in Japan.

Teaser trailer for movie “The Phone of The Wind”

Teaser trailer added for movie “The Phone of The Wind” starring Serena Motola and Hidetoshi Nishijima. The film is inspired by a true story of a man who placed a telephone booth in his garden so he could talk to a deceased family member. A year later, the telephone booth became a destination for those that lost loved ones during the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami. Captions on the teaser trailer states in Japanese (0:07) “From Hiroshima to Otsuchi in Iwate,” (0:16) “Having a wounded heart, a girl’s journey begins,” (0:21) “One more time, I want to have a talk” and (0:26) “That is the only phone that connects to Heaven.”

Trailer added for suspense thriller “Find” starring Moe Tsurumi, Fuka Kumazawa and Hana Hanamiya. Movie is directed by Shinpei Yamasaki (“Vampire Night“). The film is set an abandoned church in the forest where 8 girls wake up to find themselves. A masked man then attempts to kill the girls one by one. The lead actresses come from a variety of idol groups like “Niji no Conquistador,” “Task have Fun” and “APPARE! HARAJUKU.”

“Find” will be released November 15, 2019 in Japan.

Trailer #2 and poster added for movie “Murder at Shijinso” starring Ryunosuke Kamiki, Minami Hamabe and Shono Hayama. Movie is based on novel Shijinso no Satsujin” by Masahiro Imamura and directed by Hisashi Kimura. Meanwhile, the movie’s theme song has been revealed, which is “Saisei” by Jpop group Perfume. The theme song appears in trailer #2. Photo below is of the three girls in Perfume with leads from “Murder at Shijinso.”

Teaser trailers and teaser posters for movie “Our 30 Minute Sessions” starring Mackenyu Arata and Takumi Kitamura. The teaser begins with Mackenyu Arata as Aki Miyata standing in the middle of public area and asking out loudly “Can people see me? Can you hear me?” A cassette tape causes the body of Sota Kubota (Takumi Kitamura) to be taken over by the late Aki Miyata for 30 minutes.

Release date for “Our 30 Minute Sessions” is set for January 24, 2020 in South Korea.

Tomoya Nakamura cast in movie “Wednesday Disappeared”

Tomoya Nakamura is cast in movie “Wednesday Disappeared” (literal title of “Suiyoubi ga Kieta”). The film is directed and scripted by Kohei Yoshino. This is his first feature film as a director. The film will have Tomoya Nakamura playing a man with 7 different personalities, with each personality appearing by the day of the week. Filming for the movie began late May, 2019 in Fukushima Prefecture, Japan.

“Wednesday Disappeared” will be released sometime next year in Japan.

Movie is based on manga series “Gozen 0 ji, Kiss Shi ni Kite yo” by Rin Mikimoto and directed by Takehiko Shinjo. Meanwhile, the movie’s theme song has been revealed which is “One in a Million: Kiseki no Yoru ni” by GENERATIONS from EXILE TRIBE. Lead actor in the film, Ryota Katayose is a member of GENERATIONS from EXILE TRIBE. The song “One in a Million: Kiseki no Yoru ni” is played in the main trailer.
