Mugi Kadowaki & Kiko Mizuhara cast in movie “Tokyo Noble Girl”

Mugi Kadowaki and Kiko Mizuhara are cast in movie “Tokyo Noble Girl.” The film is based on 2016 novel  “Ano Ko wa Kizoku” by Mariko Yamauchi (“Japanese Girls Never Die“) and directed by Yukiko Sode (“Good Stripes“). The film revolves around two women who live completely different lives and their self-reliance.

“Tokyo Noble Girl” will be released sometime next year in Japan.

Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: Hanako Haibara (Mugi Kadowaki) was born and raised in the city of Tokyo. After she gets dumped by her boyfriend, while in her late 20’s, she goes on blind dates to find a man to marry.

Miki Tokioka (Kiko Mizuhara) was born in a province. She studied very hard and entered a prestigious university in Tokyo. She experienced difficult financial times, but she now works at an IT company.

Due to a man, Hanako Haibara and Miki Tokioka meet each other.

Gou Ayano and Hiroshi Tachi cast in movie “Yakuza and The Family”

Gou Ayano and Hiroshi Tachi are cast in movie “Yakuza and The Family.” The film is written and directed by Michihito Fujii (“The Journalist“). The screenplay spans 20 years as it tells a story of a yakuza family. Filming for the movie took place from November to December, 2019 in Numazu, Fuji and Susono, Shizuoka Prefecture.

“Yakuza and The Family” will be released sometime next year in Japan.

Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: A story of yakuza family from 1999 to 2019. Kenji Yamamoto’s (Gou Ayano) father died from using a stimulant drug. His life fell into desperation. Kenji Yamamoto then joined a crime syndicate. There, he meets the gang’s boss Hiroshi Shibasaki (Hiroshi Tachi). Hiroshi Shibasaki reaches out to Kenji Yamamoto and they developed a relationship like father and son. As time passes, Kenji Yamamoto has his own family.

Teaser poster & supporting cast for movie “Wish”

Teaser poster and supporting cast members added for movie “Wish” starring Shinichi Tsutsumi and Yuriko Ishida. The film is based on 2016 novel “Nozomi” by Shusuke Shizukui (“Killing For The Prosecution“) and directed by Yukihiko Tsutsumi (“SPEC: Heaven“). Newly announced supporting cast members for the film are Kenshi OkadaKaya Kiyohara,  Masaya KatoShota MatsudaYoshie Ichige and Raita Ryu. Caption on the teaser poster asks “Is our beloved son a murderer or a victim?”

Out of the new supporting cast members, Kenshi Okada will play the son Tadashi Ishikawa and Kaya Kiyohara will play his sister Miyabi Ishikawa. Masaya Kato will play Detective Teranuma and Shota Matsuda will play Reporter Naito. Yoshio Ichige will play Fumiko, who is the grandmother. Lastly, Raita Ryu will play Takayama, who is the CEO of a construction company.

“Wish” will be released sometime this October in Japan.

Trailer & poster for comedy-zombie film “Hachioji Zombies”

Trailer and poster added for comedy-zombie film “Hachioji Zombies” starring Kenjiro Yamashita, Yuki Kubota, Rei Fujita, and Haruki Kiyama. Movie is written and directed by Osamu Suzuki (“Love x Doc“). The film’s release date is now set for July 17, 2020 in Japan. The film originally was scheduled for release June 5, 2020, but the Covid-19 outbreak caused the release date to be delayed.

Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: Takashi Habuki (Kenjiro Yamashita) aspired to become a dancer, but he kept failing auditions. He gave up on that dream. To think carefully about his life, Takashi Habuki decides to visit Kibo Temple, which is located deep in the mountain. A rule exists, that when nightfall comes, people should not visit the abandoned temple in the back of the Kibo Temple. Rumors exits about the abandoned temple.

Tao Tsuchiya cast in movie “Aishu Cinderella”

Tao Tsuchiya is cast for the lead role in movie “Aishu Cinderella.” The film is also scripted and directed by Ryohei Watanabe (“The Antique“). Tao Tsuchiya will play main character Koharu Fukuura in the film. She goes through an extremely turbulent period before she marries someone who is like a prince to her, but she finds trouble again.

Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: Koharu Fukuura (Tao Tsuchiya) works at city hall. She has ordinary days, where she isn’t particularly happy or miserable. Overnight, her life completely changes. Her grandfather collapses, her father is arrested for driving while intoxicated, and her house burns down. She also witnesses her boyfriend having an affair with her colleague. She loses everything that night. Koharu Fukuura is now full of despair. At that time, she meets Doctor Daigo. He raises his 8-year-old daughter Hikari alone and he proposes to Koharu. Teaser poster and two teaser trailers added for movie “A Beloved Wife” starring Gaku Hamada, Asami Mizukawa, and Chise Niitsu. The film is based on novel “Chibusa ni Ka“ by screenwriter Shin Adachi (“100 Yen Love“) and also directed by Shin Adachi.

Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: Gota (Gaku Hamada) is an unpopular scriptwriter. He has been married to Chika (Asami Mizukawa) for 10 years and they have a daughter Aki (Chise Niitsu). Their marriage life is not very good. Gota tries to make his relationship with Chika better, but Chika looks down on him for not being able to earn money. One day, Gota has a chance to travel to Kagawa Prefecture to write a screenplay. He persuades Chika and Aki to go with him to Kagawa Prefecture, but he faces an unexpected case.
