Teaser trailer & poster for movie “Silent Tokyo”

Teaser trailer and poster added for movie “Silent Tokyo” starring Koichi Sato, Yuriko Ishida, and Hidetoshi Nishijima. The film is based on 2016 novel “And So This Is Xmas” by Takehiko Hata (“Unfair“) and directed by Takafumi Hatano (“SP“). The film is set during Christmas Eve, when a person warns a bomb will be detonated in downtown Tokyo by 6PM if they can’t speak with the Prime Minister on a live broadcast. Meanwhile, the ending song for the movie is a cover version of “Happy X-mas(War Is Over)” by Awich. The song is also featured prominently in the teaser trailer.

“Silent Tokyo” will be released December 4, 2020 in Japan.

Anna Yamada and Mayu Yamaguchi are cast in horror film “Suicide Forest Village.” The film follows 2020 movie “Howling Village” which also deals with a village known for cult activity. Sosuke Ikematsu, Joe Odagiri, & Choi Hee-Seo cast in movie “Angel of Asia”

Sosuke Ikematsu, Joe Odagiri, and Choi Hee-Seo are cast in movie “Angel of Asia” (literal title of “Asia no Tenshi”). The film is written and directed by Yuya Ishii. Filming for the movie was done entirely in South Korea from February to March, 2020. “Angel of Asia” is expected to be released spring, 2021 in South Korea and sometime during 2021 in Japan. Sosuke Ikematsu will play Takeshi Aoki, Joe Odagiri will play his older brother who lives in South Korea, and Choi Hee-Seo will play Choi Seol.

Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: Takeshi Aoki (Sosuke Ikematsu) lives with his 8 years old son Manabu. His wife died from an illness. He has an older brother (Joe Odagiri), but they became estranged. Takeshi Aoki and his son Manabu travel to Seoul, South Korea where his older brother lives. His older brother is not doing well at all, unlike Takeshi’s expectation. His older brother practically lives from hand to mouth. Even though Takeshi is unable to speak Korean, he needs to help his brother’s work, which is to import and sell cosmetics of dubious quality.

Meanwhile, Choi Seol (Choi Hee-Seo) sings a song on the stage at a traditional market, which nobody listens to. Due to the CEO of her management agency, she is unable to sing her own song. She also has problems with her older brother and younger sister.

Takeshi and his older brother get involved with Choi Seol.

Trailer & poster for movie “Your Eyes Tell”

Main trailer and poster added for movie “Your Eyes Tell” starring Yuriko Yoshitaka and Ryusei Yokohama. The movie is a remake of 2011 South Korean film “Always” starring So Ji-Sub and Han Hyo-Joo. Meanwhile, the movie’s theme song has been revealed which is “Your Eyes Tell” by popular boy band BTS. Jeon Jung-Kook, the youngest member of BTS, was touched by the film and participating in composing the song as well. “Your Eyes Tell” is also included on their next Japanese album “Map of the Soul: 7 ~The Journey~” which drops July 15, 2020.

Movie “Your Eyes Tell” will be released October 23, 2020 in Japan.

Koji Yakusho cast in movie “Under The Open Sky”

Koji Yakusho is cast in movie “Under The Open Sky.” The film is based on 1990 novel “Mibuncho” by Ryuzo Saki (“Vengeance Is Mine“) and directed by Miwa Nishikawa (“Sway“). The film has also cast Taiga NakanoIsao HashizumeMeiko KajiSeiji RokkakuYukiya KitamuraMasami Nagasawa, and Narumi Yasuda for supporting roles. Koji Yakusho will play main character Masao Mikami for the upcoming movie. He tries to adapt to life after serving a 13 year prison sentence. He becomes involved in a TV program about his life.

“Under The Open Sky” will be released sometime during spring, 2021 in Japan.

Trailer added for movie “Ninzu no Machi” starring Tomoya Nakamura. The film is written and directed by first time feature film director Shinji Araki.

Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: Aoyama (Tomoya Nakamura) is harassed over debts. He arrives in a mysterious town. People can enter the town freely, but they can not leave. The town provides the basic necessities of life, including food, clothing and a place to live. The people there can indulge in pleasures everyday. By communicating with the people, Aoyama approaches the mystery of the town.
