Main trailer and poster added for biopic film “Hokusai” starring Yuya Yagira, Min Tanaka, and Hiroshi Abe. The film is based on the life of artist Hokusai Katsushika. Caption on the poster states in Japanese “With this brush, I will change the world.”

Kasumi Arimura cast in upcoming “Rurouni Kenshin” films

Kasumi Arimura is cast in movies “Rurouni Kenshin: The Final” and “Rurouni Kenshin: The Beginning” starring Takeru Satoh and Emi Takei. For the two films, Kasumi Arimura will play Tomoe Yukishiro. Her character is the wife of Kenshin Himura (Takeru Satoh). She was the only person he loved and she is related to how Kenshin Himura got the “Jujishou” mark on his face. Above is a promotional visual poster of her in the movies.

“Rurouni Kenshin: The Final” will be released July 3, 2020 and “Rurouni Kenshin: The Beginning” will be released August 7, 2020 in Japan.

Teaser trailer and still images for live-action film “Tonkatsu DJ Age-Taro” starring Takumi Kitamura. Movie is based on manga series “Tonkatsu DJ Age-Taro” by Iipyao and directed by Ken Ninomiya. Still images above and below are of Takumi Kitamura as Agetaro Katsumata. He works at a family owned pork cutlet restaurant, but becomes enthralled with DJing.

Yuuki Ogoe cast in movie “The Werewolf Game: Death Game’s Operator”

Yuuki Ogoe is cast in movie “The Werewolf Game: Death Game’s Operator” (literal title). Yuuki Ogoe is the first male actor to play the main character in the “The Werewolf Game” series of movies. The movie is based on novel “Jinro Gemu: Death Game no Uneinin” by Ryo Kawakami and he will also sit in the director’s chair to direct the film.

Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: People are gathered by recruitment or being kidnapped.These people take part in the Werewolf Game. The participants must risk their lives in the game, while wealthy people wager on the winners and losers of the game. Masamune (Yuuki Ogoe) works as an operator of the game. He finds out that female high school student Yuzuki Natsume is one of the participants in the Werewolf Game. Masamune once taught Yuzuki Natsume as a private tutor. He wants to save her and he is willing to risk his life to do so.

“The Werewolf Game: Death Game’s Operator” will be released sometime this autumn in Japan.

Trailer added for movie “The Ashes of My Flesh and Blood is the Vast Flowing Galaxy” (literal title) starring Taishi Nakagawa and Anna Ishii. The film is directed by SABU and based on 2016 novel  “Kudakechiru Tokoro o Misete Ageru” by Yuyuko Takemiya. Meanwhile, the theme song for the movie has been revealed, which is “Day Dream: Hakuchumu” by Rui. The theme song appears in the trailer.

Main trailer added for live-action film “Grand Blue” starring Ryo Ryusei, Yuki Yoda, and Atsuhiro Inukai. The movie is based on manga series “Grand Blue” written by Kenji Inoue and directed by Tsutomu Hanabusa. In addition, more supporting cast members have been announced for the film. They are Aya Asahina, Yuka Ogura, Ren Ishikawa and Masahiro Takashima. The theme song for the movie has been revealed as well, which is “Zekkyou Serenade” by rock group Sumika. The song “Zekkyou Serenade” appears in the main trailer.

Ryo Yoshizawa and Hana Sugisaki cast in movie “Blue, Painful, and Brittle”

Ryo Yoshizawa and Hana Sugisaki are cast in movie “Blue, Painful, and Brittle” (literal title). The film is based on 2018 novel  “Aokute Itakute Moroi” by Yoru Sumino (“Let Me Eat Your Pancreas“). Shunsuke Kariyama (“Humanoid Monster, Bem“) directs the film and the screenplay adaptation is be written by Noriaki Sugihara (“Sadako“). For the film, Ryo Yoshizawa will play university student Kaede Tabata and Hana Sugisaki will play fellow university student Hisano Akiyoshi.

Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: Kaede Tabata (Ryo Yoshizawa) is a university student with poor social skills. He meets Hisano Akiyoshi (Hana Sugisaki), who attends the same university. She seems to lack common sense and is also an idealist. She talks about ending wars and having no more bullies. Kaede Tabata & Hisano Akiyoshi have different personalities, but they are both outsiders. For their goal to change the world, they decide to make a secret club Moai. One day, Hisano Akiyoshi suddenly disappears. Their secret club Moai also changes. Moai becomes a club for job finders and the club gets larger. Kaede Tabata decides to leave the club, but he then decides to take back Moai for its original mission, dreamt up by himself and Hisano Akiyoshi.
