Asami Mizukawa, Kodai Asaka, and Uta Yorikawa cast in movie “The Runway”

Asami Mizukawa, Kodai Asaka, and Uta Yorikawa are cast in movie “The Runway” (literal title). The film is based on poem collection poems “Kashu Kassoro” by Shinichiro Hagihara. Asami Mizukawa will play the lead character role.

Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: Midori (Asami Mizukawa) is in her late 30’s and is a cutout picture artist. She has anxiety about her future. Takano (Kodai Asaka) is a 25-year-old bureaucrat at the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare. He is under a heavy workload and he becomes lethargic at his workplace. One day, he sees a list of people who committed suicide due to temporary employment. On that list, he becomes interested in a 25-year-old young man who killed himself. Takano begins to investigate the background of that young man.

“The Runway” will be released autumn, 2020 in Japan.

Trailer #2 for movie “The Sun Does Not Move”

Trailer #2 added for upcoming movie “The Sun Does Not Move” (literal title) starring Tatsuya Fujiwara & Ryoma Takeuchi. The film also features Korean actors Han Hyo-Joo & Byun Yo-Han in major supporting character roles. The film is based on two different novels in the “Kazuhiko Takano Series” by Shuichi Yoshida. Meanwhile, the movie’s theme song has been revealed, which is “Awa” by pop-rock group King Gnu. “Awa” is featured in trailer #2 as well.

Teaser poster and release date added for movie “Mio-Tsukushi Ryouri-Chou” starring Honoka Matsumoto and Nao. The film is based on novel “Mi wo Tsukushi Ryoricho” by Kaoru Takada and directed by Haruki Kadokawa (“The Laughing Policeman“). The novel was previously adapted into two TV Asahi drama specials (2012 & 2014) and a 2017 NHK drama series.

Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: When Mio (Honoka Matsumoto) was young, she lost her parents in a great flood and also became separated from her best friend Noe (Nao). Afterwards, Mio found her talent in cooking and eventually became a cook. Meanwhile, Noe has become an oiran (high-ranking courtesan).

Kasumi Arimura cast in upcoming “Rurouni Kenshin” films

Kasumi Arimura is cast in movies “Rurouni Kenshin: The Final” and “Rurouni Kenshin: The Beginning” starring Takeru Satoh and Emi Takei. For the two films, Kasumi Arimura will play Tomoe Yukishiro. Her character is the wife of Kenshin Himura (Takeru Satoh). She was the only person he loved and she is related to how Kenshin Himura got the “Jujishou” mark on his face. Above is a promotional visual poster of her in the movies.

“Rurouni Kenshin: The Final” will be released July 3, 2020 and “Rurouni Kenshin: The Beginning” will be released August 7, 2020 in Japan.

Teaser trailer and still images for live-action film “Tonkatsu DJ Age-Taro” starring Takumi Kitamura. Movie is based on manga series “Tonkatsu DJ Age-Taro” by Iipyao and directed by Ken Ninomiya. Yuuki Ogoe cast in movie “The Werewolf Game: Death Game’s Operator”

Yuuki Ogoe is cast in movie “The Werewolf Game: Death Game’s Operator” (literal title). Yuuki Ogoe is the first male actor to play the main character in the “The Werewolf Game” series of movies. The movie is based on novel “Jinro Gemu: Death Game no Uneinin” by Ryo Kawakami and he will also sit in the director’s chair to direct the film.

Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: People are gathered by recruitment or being kidnapped.These people take part in the Werewolf Game. The participants must risk their lives in the game, while wealthy people wager on the winners and losers of the game. Masamune (Yuuki Ogoe) works as an operator of the game. He finds out that female high school student Yuzuki Natsume is one of the participants in the Werewolf Game. Masamune once taught Yuzuki Natsume as a private tutor. He wants to save her and he is willing to risk his life to do so.

“The Werewolf Game: Death Game’s Operator” will be released sometime this autumn in Japan.
