Miho Kanno cast in NTV drama “My Daughter Doesn’t Have A Boyfriend”

Miho Kanno is cast for the lead role in NTV drama series “My Daughter Doesn’t Have A Boyfriend” (literal title of “Uchi no Musume wa Kareshi ga Dekinai”). The drama series features an original screenplay by Eriko Kitagawa (“Hundred Million Stars From the Sky“) and directed by Seiichi Nagumo & Hidemi Uchida. For the drama series, Miho Kanno will play successful romance novelist Aoi Minase. She worries about her 20-year-old daughter who is an otaku and doesn’t have a boyfriend.

“My Daughter Doesn’t Have A Boyfriend” first airs January, 2021 in Japan (takes over NTV’s Wednesday 10PM time slot after “RemoteLove“).

Ryoma Takeuchi is cast in NTV drama series “With You on the Day the World Ends” (literal title) and Hulu sequel drama series “With You on the Day the World Ends Season 2.” The drama series is co-produced by NTV and Hulu, with NTV’s season 1 having 10 episodes and Hulu’s season 2 having 6 episodes. The screenplay is an original script written by Natsuko Ikeda (“Tower of Sand“) and directed by Shintaro Sugawara.

“With You on the Day the World Ends” will first air January, 2021 in Japan (takes over NTV’s Sunday 10:30 PM time slot after “The Way of the Househusband.”).

Actress Yuko Takeuchi found deceased September 27th

Actress Yuko Takeuchi was found deceased around 2AM on September 27, 2020 by her actor husband Taiki Nakabayashi. Her husband found Yuko Takeuchi hanging at their home in Shibuya, Tokyo. The Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department are investigating her death as a suicide. Yuko Takeuchi has starred in many award winning films and drama series like “The Queen of Lunchtime Cuisine,” “Be with You,” “Strawberry Night,” and “A Long Goodbye.” Our condolences goes out to her family and friends.

Kazuma Kawamura (‘The Rampage from Exile Tribe’), Jin Shirasu, Yuta Nakatsuka (GENERATIONS from Exile Tribe), Hayato Komori (‘GENERATIONS from Exile Tribe’), Miu Tomita, and Masato Yano are cast in NTV drama series “6 From High & Low The Worst.” The drama series is a spin-off of 2019 movie “High & Low The Worst.”

Appropriately enough, “6 From High & Low The Worst” will consist of 6 episodes and air November 19, 2020 in Japan.

Ryoko Yonekura is cast in Netflix drama series “The Journalist.” The drama series is somewhat related to 2019 movie “The Journalist,” starring Shim Eun-Kyung & Tori Matsuzaka, as they both share the same title, are set at newspaper company Toto Newspaper, and directed by Michihito Fujii, but they have different stories and characters. For drama series “The Journalist,” Ryoko Yonekura will play lead female character Anna Matsuda.

“The Journalist” will be released on Netflix sometime next year.

Kei Tanaka is cast in TV Asahi drama series “Equation To Erase The Teacher” (literal title of “Sensei wo Kesu Houteishiki”). The drama series is scripted by Osamu Suzuki (“M: Beloved One“) and directed by Takashi Komatsu (“Mr. Housekeeper, Mitazono Season 4“). For drama series “Equation To Erase The Teacher,” Kei Tanaka will play high school teacher Tsuneo Yoshizawa. His students concoct a plan to kill him.

“Equation To Erase The Teacher” first airs October 31, 2020 in Japan.
