Alice Hirose and Shunsuke Michieda cast in TBS drama “My Second Aoharu”

Alice Hirose and Shunsuke Michieda are cast in TBS drama series “My Second Aoharu.” The drama series features an original screenplay by Ayako Kitagawa (“The Fate, I Will Deliver: True Story of Mercari“). For “My Second Aoharu,” Alice Hirose will play 30 year old Sayako Shiratama. In her past she repeatedly failed her university entrance exam and finally gave up on her dream of becoming an architect. She meets university student Taku Ogasawara (Shunsuke Michieda) who inspires her to try again.

“My Second Aoharu” will first airs October, 2023 in Japan (takes over TBS’ Tuesdays 10PM time slot after “18/40: Unbreakable Bond of Dreams“).

Eiko Koike cast in NTV drama “Kotatsu ga Nai Ie”

Eiko Koike is cast in NTV drama series “Kotatsu ga Nai Ie.” The drama series is setup as family-comedy and is scripted by Shigeki Kaneko (“Life’s Punchline“) and directed by Satoru Nakajima (“RemoteLove“) & Syunpei Maruya (“RemoteLove“). The drama series is also the first starring role for Eiko Koike in a prime time series. For “Kotatsu ga Nai Ie,” Eiko Koike will play successful wedding planner Marie Fukabori. Although she is successful at work, at home she is surrounded by three loser males at home.

“Kotatsu ga Nai Ie” will first air October, 2023 in Japan.

Kanata Hongo & Kana Osawa cast in TV Tokyo “Mei no Mei”

Kanata Hongo and Kana Osawa are cast in TV Tokyo drama series “Mei no Mei.” The drama series features an original screenplay by Yasuhiro Ogawa and directed by Yasuhiko Shimizu & Ryoma Ouchida. Both of the directors previously worked together in 2020 Fuji TV drama series “Pension: Love Is Pink.” For “Mei no Mei,” Kanata Hongo will play 32 year old Ozu who was born and raised in Tokyo. After his sister and his brother-in-law die in a car accident, he decides to temporarily move in with his niece, played by Kana Osawa, in Fukushima Prefecture.

“Mei no Mei” first airs September 7, 2023 in Japan.

Kazunari Ninomiya, Takao Osawa & Miki Nakatani cast in Fuji TV drama “One Day”

Kazunari Ninomiya, Takao Osawa and Miki Nakatani are cast in Fuji TV drama series “One Day: Seiya no kara Sawagi.” Drama series will be directed by Masayuki Suzuki (“Masquerade Hotel“) and scripted by Yuichi Tokunaga (“Daughter of Lupin“). The drama series will also feature Takao Osawa and Miki Nakatani starring together in a drama series for the first time since 2011 TBS drama series “Jin 2.” Story for “One Day: Seiya no kara Sawagi” will have the three main characters coming from different backgrounds but their fates become intertwined as the truth behind a shooting case is revealed.

“One Day: Seiya no kara Sawagi” first airs October, 2023 in Japan (takes over Fuji TV’s Monday 9PM time slot after “Manatsu no Cinderella“).

Trailer and poster for Netflix drama “Burn the House Down”

English subtitled trailer and poster added for Netflix live-action drama series “Burn the House Down” starring Mei Nagano and Kyoka Suzuki. The drama series is based on manga series “Mitarai ke, Enjou Suru” by Moyashi Fujisawa and directed by Yuichiro Hirakawa (“Jin“). The trailer begins with the home of Anzu Murata’s (Mei Nagano) family engulfed in flames. This changes Anzu Murata’s life completely.

“Burn the House Down” will be available to stream from  July 13, 2023.

Mai Fukagawa, Atsuko Maeda, & Anna Ishii cast in NTV drama “Kanojotachi no Hanzai”

Mai Fukagawa, Atsuko Maeda, and Anna Ishii are cast in NTV-YTV drama series “Kanojotachi no Hanzai.” The drama series is based on 2019 novel “Kanojotachi no Hanzai” by Dai Yokozeki (“Marriage Is Difficult For A Ninja“). In “Kanojotachi no Hanzai,” Mai Fukagawa will play lead character Mayumi Himura. Along with Mayumi Himura and two other women played by Atsuko Maeda, and Anna Ishii, a missing woman’s case changes their lives.

“Kanojotachi no Hanzai” first airs July 20, 2023 in Japan (takes over NTV’s Thursday midnight time slot after “The Winning Script“).

Momoko Tanabe and Yuta Koseki are cast in NTV live-action drama series “The Neighbor Of Healing Has A Secret.” The drama series is based on  manga series “Iyashi no Otonari-san ni wa Himitsu ga Aru” by Natsuko Umezawa. In “The Neighbor Of Healing Has A Secret,” Momoko Tanabe plays Fujiko Yomogida. Yuta Koseki will play Soma Nishina. He is the new neighbor of Fujiko Yomogida and he has a secret.

The story for “Lies Hidden In My Garden” starts off with Joo-Ran (Kim Tae-Hee) noticing a strange smell coming from her yard and this leads her to investigate her husband. Ryo Narita & Fuka Koshiba cast in Fuji TV drama “The Expert of Changing Jobs”

Ryo Narita & Fuka Koshiba are cast in Fuji TV-KTV drama series “The Expert of Changing Jobs.” The drama series is based on novel “Tenshoku no Maousama” by Mio Nukaga. The two leads will play two employees at a temp agency that also advises its clients on career changes. Fuka Koshiba will play Chiharu Hitsujitani. She recently went through a career change herself from a big advertising agency to working at her aunt’s temp agency. Ryo Narita will play Arashi Kurusu. He is a respected career adviser and has the nickname The Devil of Changing Jobs.

Natsuki Deguchi & Kaito Sakura cast in WOWOW drama “Ao Haru Ride”

Natsuki Deguchi & Kaito Sakura are cast in WOWOW live-action drama series “Ao Haru Ride” which will consist of two seasons. “Ao Haru Ride” is based on manga series “Ao Haru Ride” by Io Sakisaka. 2014 movie “Blue Spring Ride,” starring Tsubasa Honda & Masahiro Higashide, is also based on the same manga series. The story for “Ao Haru Ride” will follow two high school students who meet again after three years. The boy though has a different last name.

“Ao Haru Ride Season 1” will consist of 8 episodes and air this autumn in Japan.
